Cheap, awesome suggestion:
Virtual ON. It's a 3D mech fighting game.

Suggestion that might be not-so-cheap:
Magic Knight Rayearth. It was the last SS game in the US, and it's also FREAKING AMAZING. You can usually get 'em on eBay for around ~$50. Not cheap, but WORTH IT.

Dark Savior

Virtua Fighter Kids
Virtua Fighter 2

By not expensive are we talking under $10, $20, or what. There are plenty of good titles that are $10-20. With what you have now I'd play those if you haven't already. Get a light gun and either add an import mod or cartridge, it'll broaden your selection several fold and open up lots of cheap and exclusive imports. For example, House of the Dead (US) is around $75-100 whereas the (JPN) release is about $10. There are some import Saturn sites out there that'll point in the direction you're looking and "lite" foreign text games.

Galactic Attack and Darius are two great arcade shooters that you should be able to pick up for under $20 each

Dark Savior
Mr. Bones
Clockwork Knight
Virtua Fighter Kids
Virtua Fighter 2
Last Bronx
Panzer Dragoon
Decathlete

All of these, although I'd suggest Clockwork Knight 2 over the first, and VF Kids is kind of skippable. I especially strongly recommend Dark Savior -- amazing game, and surprisingly cheap, considering almost everything else resembling an RPG for the system is expensive.

My two cents:

Galactic Attack
Powerslave
Skeleton Warriors
Shinobi Legions
Herc's Adventures
Norse by Norsewest
GunGriffon
MechWarrior 2
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Night Warriors
X-Men: Children of the Atom
Virtual On
Tempest 2000
Solar Eclipse
Thunderstrike 2
Soviet Strike
The Horde
Die Hard Arcade

You don't need a mod. You could go that route, but if you're not going to mod it yourself, you can just get a "4-in-1" cartridge. It will allow you to play games from any region, use Game Shark style cheats, hold game saves (but you can't save directly to it like the official memory cart, you have to transfer back and forth), and it includes RAM expansion for the games that use it (all but one of which are imports, and most of which are fighting games). You should be able to get one for about $20-30 easily. They're pretty common, and were even sold on US shelves for a while. They come in quite a few different "versions" but they all do the same thing.

I'm not sure what sites he's referring to, but as a general rule just avoid RPGs, adventure games, strategy games, and dating sims. Just about everything else should be fine. Most people import for fighting games and shooters, which there are a lot of that didn't make it over here. But there are also some worthwhile action games, puzzle games, racing games, and classic arcade ports. I'm sure we can oblige you with suggestions. There are also a few European imports that are worthwhile, and they're in English.

j_factor covered the mod factor pretty well to give you that direction.

Two sites I go for information about Saturn imports are:
Segagaga Domain (http://www.segagagadomain.com/)
RF Generation (http://www.rfgeneration.com/)

To give you an idea, Here's what each have about Dragonforce:
Segagaga Domain (http://www.segagagadomain.com/saturn15/drogonforce.htm)
RF Generation (http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/getinfo.pl?ID=J-060-S-01455-A)

Sometimes you get lucky on sites like Rotten Tomatoes or IGN, but both of those are good places to start. Also you can always search the DP forums for discussions on a particular game or start a new conversation.

Any particular reason?

OP, another good site is satakore (http://www.satakore.com/sega-saturn-complete-game,,1,,0,,0.html), which has a really nice searchable database.

where could i get an import mod??

I found mine at PlayAsia. They've got 'em in stock and brand new.

It's not an import "mod", but rather an import "key." It just plugs into that little slot on the back and lets you 1) play imports, 2) enter action replay codes 3)back up your save games and 4)auto-switch ram addon.

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-k8-49-en-15-4m+auto-70-1b2.html

Click clicky. BUY IT. And get House of the Dead, import-- all english audio, and it's much cheaper for the Japanese version than the US release.

Layer Section is reason enough to get an AR+.

Layer Section was released in the USA as Galactic Attack.

I have 6 volumes of Saturn videos on Youtube, if you want to see most of the best games in action. Just do a search for "155 Sega Saturn", and you should find them.

Seriously... what was the point of this? If you want to bash the Saturn, then by all means, start your own thread and do that. But DON'T butt into someone else's thread and start posting crap like this. It doesn't pertain to the thread and it does nothing to help out the OP.

I agree with Nebagram. If you enjoy fighting games and are a Sega fan in general you can't go wrong here.

Fighters Megamix is, IMHO, one of the best fighting games ever made. It's really the Sega equivalent of SNK's King of Fighters. Sega took all the VF2 characters, all the FV characters and a slew of other Sega characters and tossed them all into one over the top fighting game. It has a ton of stuff to unlock and normally runs around 10 bucks. It should keep you busy for a while!

Eh, MKR is pretty mediocre if you ask me. It might be worth a shot if it was like $15, but you can never find it that cheap.

I think that Panzer Dragoon Zwei should be on the list in addition to what everyone else has suggested.

Some suggestions that I second (or third):

Galactic Attack - one of the best and addicting shooters on the Saturn and CHEAP!

Shinobi Legions - Beyond cheese FMV cut scenes, this is a very solid Shinobi game.

Super Bust a Move 2 - good old fashioned Bust a Move game play

Pandemonium! - Nice 2.5D platformer with gameplay similar to NiGHTS or Klonoa

Panzer Dragoon - great rail shooting game

Die Hard Arcade

The reason I recommended the first Clockwork over the second is that 2 usually commands a fair price on eBay (in the $20 range) compared to the $6 or so the first gets. Solid recommendations on the others, but again I'd say Shinobi, Powerslave and X-Men all go for a moderate sum on the 'bay.

Dark Saviour and Mystaria/Blazing Heroes are two really good rpgs (one's action-rpg the other is strat-rpg) that tend to cost around $10~20 at most. There's also Virtual Hydlide but... heh... yeah.
