Just scored one on ebay for 57 shipped with fortress of norzad (good deal?)
also picked up a multi cart with most of the library on it for 35usd.
Now I just need the 3D games and the goggles for them these can be had it seems for 50-100 bucks or so online whether official or not but my question is, should I bother? How rare are these things?

Also looking for any limited edition stuff like protector imparticular.

Cant wait for this to arrive!

I've kind of been wanting to get into Vectrex myself. My friend's dad had one when we were growing up, and it was always an exciting time when he'd pull it out of the closet, and set it up in the living room. I actually haven't played one since way back then, probably about 15-20 years ago.

I didn't know there were multi-carts for the system. Did it come with the screen overlays?

Of the 3D games only one is really worth playing IMO (Narrow Escape? can't remember the name). The coaster game is basically nothing, and Minestorm is already perfection (or is that pervection?)

Depending on what multicart you bought the 3D games might already be on there, although they are unplayable w/out the imager. But the imager is definitely a try before you buy thing, unless you're really a hardcore Vectrex collector.

Welcome to the Vectrex family Otaku ;)

You'll have a job getting the limited Protector, there's only 100 and from what I've seen, about 7-8 have been sold over the years. Maybe 10. Expect to pay $200+ for one. Thankfully you can get the game much cheaper in a double pack with YASI for only $12 from John Dondzila's site...

(he's taken over the work previously done by Mark Shaker)

I saw that-will probably go that 12 dollar route obviously I don't want to collect to the extreme at all mostly just play. Just saw on my CGE2k7 dvd a complete vectrex set go for a few grand or something like that. This system and cart with shipping was 98 bucks

I'd also like to suggest a Vectrex flash cart.

Carey85 of the forums has one. I'd say it's pretty A+. I'm not exactly sure if that is the one that he has, but, it's definitely worth it. Gives you the chance to try out all the games and whatever else may come along.

I'd also suggest getting the mod done to reduce the humming and what not. Bombjoy did mine and I could not be happier.

Edit: Also, Vectrex kicks mush ass! I need to get a second controller sometime myself.

It's a very fun system, you'll enjoy it! The most fun I had is with my brother playing Blitz, but you'll need two controllers for that.
