Found a USA seller with a fat import ps2 for 150 shipped. But was wondering if it would be better to buy a new slim from playasia for 200+shipping?

I can't believe no one has responded to this yet O_o hope my advice is not too late. I would personally go with the 200$ one from play-asia. When I bought mine it was delivered in two days and that is freaking incredible. Also, the slim models are more reliable than the older fat models and they look better. Anyway enjoy your new ps2!

I bought a new white slim Japanese PS2 from Play-Asia.com back in 2006, and I've never regretted it.

:( too late already picked up a fatty for the 150 so I kinda got ripped off and no slim either :( however the guy did get it here in like 2 days most of the games are bleh but got two memory cards and a controller. I have been enjoying it alot of good jpn only shmups and fighters!
