Square Enix Facing Class Action Suit Over FFXI "Hidden Fees" [Slashdot]

A class action lawsuit has been initiated against Square Enix over the fees they charge for subscription-based MMO Final Fantasy XI. The court filing alleges "deceptive advertising, unfair practices, and fraudulent concealment" of information about the game's pricing model, essentially saying Square Enix doesn't clearly advertise that there is a monthly fee, and that failure to pay can result in late fees and account termination. How do you get a late fee when you pay with a credit card? Doesn't it charge on the day it's due?

Also the "doesn't clearly advertise a monthly fee" is bs, it says so on the box.

The real meat and potatoes of this story(read from other articles) is that these players were banned/suspended from playing FFXI for various reasons. But while they were banned/suspended(some of them permanently) their credit cards kept getting charged.

I've always wondered if something similiar happens to people on Xbox live once you get the banhammer. I always imaged that if you get banned on the seventh(or when ever) month of a twelve month account that you can not get any of your money back. But I've never been banned so I have no idea.
