Friday:

No game stuff but I did get a TON (4 boxes!) of 80s GI Joe stuff for $25. There's a case of 30-40 figures and at least a dozen vehicles including the giant Whale hovercraft.

If anyone's curious I will post pictures.
(I asked the guy I bought it from. He didn't have any transformers stuff and he was keeping his Atari :( )

i'd be curious to see the joe stuff.

A few things from the past couple days. First some clearance that I couldn't pass up, all sealed new...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2009-08-13(01).jpg

Wii - We Love Golf! ($5.00)
PS2 - Pac-Man Power Pack ($9.98)
PS2 - Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon SE ($9.98)

Pac-Man Power Pack has Pac-Man World 2, Pac-Man World 3, and Pac-Man World Rally. I had Pac-Man World 2 a long time ago but never quite finished it, I've wanted to play it again for awhile. Pac-Man World Rally is a lot of fun, really surprised me. I still don't own a Wii but I can't pass up $5.00 games that I know I'll play eventually. I bought Innocent Life for my girlfriend and she's been playing it pretty much non-stop since our anniversary. I figured it would be something she'd enjoy as she just recently completed Chulip.

These are from yesterday, $20.00 from a co-worker...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2009-08-13(02).jpg

PS1 - Final Fantasy VII (GH)
PS1 - Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
PS1 - Marvel Super Heroes
PS1 - X-Men Vs. Street Fighter

All are complete and in great shape with the exception of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter missing the side label parts of the insert. Also Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men Vs. Street Fighter have general wear to the manuals, just from reading through them and so forth. I keep telling myself "the next copy of Final Fantasy VII you get, you actually have to sit down and play through" but the sweet smell of the cash it could make me always leads me to sell. LOL Think I did pretty good? :)

Lastly, another Jakks Pacific plug and play joystick, "Retro Arcade Pac-Man." This one has been out for awhile but I just recently found them in store for $19.99.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2009-08-13(03).jpg

Actually ended up being free from trading in a bunch of crap I had sitting in a small trade box for a gift card. Trades were all those Ubisoft GBA games I got 6 for $10.00 and got $2.60 and $5.00 each trade value. And the boxed copies of Boogie for the PS2 I bought for $3.00, then got $2.60 back trade value for the games only = 40 cent Rock Band microphones. :D

Of all the TV games joysticks this one really is the best. It contains 12 games...

Pac-Man
Pac-Man Plus
Pac & Pal
Super Pac-Man
Bosconian
New Rally-X
Xevious
Galaxian
Galaga
Mappy
Dig Dug
Pole Position

...has a microswitched joystick and buttons, the twist steering feature on the stick for Pole Position, saves high scores and has a really slick menu system. The games are very good remakes of the arcade originals but of course with these they're not emulated or 100% accurate - but damn close and still a lot of fun. The joystick has a much shorter throw than the other TV Games products which makes it play MUCH better. The one drawback is that the opening for the joystick under the top of the panel feels like it's diamond shaped, which means no diagonals. This is fine for most of the games but for Bosconian and Xevious it hurts gameplay. (I can't remember if the earlier sticks that had those games had eight direction movement - I think they did - just don't want to pull them out of storage... can anyone else confirm/deny this?) Bosconian can be played without diagonal movement but Xevious... well, nevermind, I never cared for it much anyway. LOL Sadly no Ms. Pac-Man and Rally-X has been replaced with New Rally-X. Still, I think this is going to be the one TV Games stick that will stay out.

All the smart ones do ;)

I've been going through all of this GI Joe stuff and apparently all the smart ones sell over $200 worth of 1980s toys for $25 :)

I'd like to see pics of the Joe stuff as well. I still have all my 80's Joe stuff in storage. Figures are pretty beat up, and of course I cut out the file cards and the "Flag Points" but it should all still be in good shape and otherwise complete.

Picked up a SMB3 (cart/sleeve) today for 1.99 at goodwill, and hit a store that was having B2G1 on basically everything, so I picked up 6 loose 7800 carts for what amounted to a couple bucks each. I have a 7800 that I need to test.

2x Tiger Handhelds - .20
FunPack (PC Game) - .50
NBA Jam (SNES) - .25

First few small finds early starting out the day slow, all IAP.

Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, The (GC, No Manual) - $3

Was $4 but got for $3 mentioning the missing manual this was pretty late probably about 12:30.

SNES System & Games - $10

Asked about games late in the day at a house and this was brought out. Offered $5 which was countered with $10 which I took.

i'd be curious to see the joe stuff.

I'll see if I can get a group pic of it all. Right now it's spread out around my garage where I'm just sorting through it. It's included so far: Sky Striker, FANG, WHALE, STUN, a bunch of figures, a big command base thingy, and some other things. Almost all of the figures have their cardboard card cutout.

I went game shopping today for the first time in over two months (I've been in a collecting slump lately). I wasn't expecting to buy anything, but I found something I couldn't pass up -- a complete copy of E.V.O. for the SNES. It was obviously a rental; the front of the box is faded somewhat, and the manual isn't in very good shape, but I've wanted a copy for a while, and it's the first one I've seen in the wild (in any condition).

Friday's finds:

SNES:
Earthworm Jim 2 (cart only)

PlayStation:
Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge (complete, GH)
Metal Slug X (complete)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (disc only, non-GH)*

N64:
Hybrid Heaven (cart only)

Dreamcast:
Shenmue (only missing the back case insert - PM me if you have a spare)

* - Metal Slug X had been re-shrinkwrapped, and when I removed the shrinkwrap and opened the case, I noticed that there was another disc until the Metal Slug X disc. I take a look, and it's THPS. I already have a complete copy, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this one.

I've only seen it in the wild in 2004, right before GameStop quit taking in SNES games. The Software Etc. at Clackamas Town Center had a cart only copy. I still regret passing it up.

Nothing major, but I did get a couple of nice pickups:

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PS2)
Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story (DVD)

Picked up both at Half-Price Books for the princely sum of $5 total.

I will do that then as soon as I get it all together. It was all well played with so it's a bit dirty and rough. Most of the vehicles and etc. will be sold for parts via eBay. In my opinion it's still a nice lot of stuff. Expect pictures soon.

EDIT Actually I just quickly snapped some shots. In my garage. Sorry for out of focus parts in some pics. For some reason some of the photos wouldn't focus.

To see the rest just go to the "recent toy purchases" thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128377). (I don't want to junk up the video game finds thread with toys)

Brother found these today for a total of $70 at the local game store:

Mega Man X2 cart only
Chrono Trigger CIB

I also found about 30 Atari games that I didn't have yet... some R1/R2, many R3, and a few R4's! All were 50c each!

Found the following at a pawn shop, all for the Nintendo 64, loose but great condition:

Mario Kart 64
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Mission Impossible
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Resident Evil 2

Those were $3.95 each. I also bought a small Nintendo 64 bag, which I assume is used to carry N64 games for $5.00

So, I went back to Waco today to pick up my mom and drive her back home. On the way I stopped at the Treasure City Flea Market (at the old Circle Drive-In Theater lot? I think I might have seen a movie there as a kid). I didn't find anything interesting videogame-wise, but I found something interesting on the toy front. A stall had a couple of jumbo Shogun Warriors there, Dragun and Godzilla. I know that Godzilla is fairly rare, so I asked the woman there how much. She had no idea, and had to call her husband. "Honey, how much is the big Godzilla and the big red robot thing..... The Godzilla is $140, and the..." About this time I just said, "Nevermind!" and walked away. I go out to flea markets because I'm looking for a bargain, not so I can pay eBay prices! If I was willing to pay those prices, I would have already bought one. And if you want that much money for something you're selling, then put in on fucking eBay instead of trying to sell it at a flea market.

I hit the Games N' Things store Ryaan 1234 told me about, and I bought Dungeon Explorer, AD&D: Eye of the Beholder, Dracula Unleashed, and Android Assault for the Sega CD, all complete (except for Dracula which is missing the foam insert and the case is damaged) and Shark Attack for the Atari 2600 (loose and missing the end label). Well, turns out I already have Shark Attack. Oh well. Shark Attack was 95¢ and the Sega CD games ranged between $3.95 and $7.95 (with one being free). I really left a big gap in their Sega CD shelves. But it's so rare that I find any decent Sega CDs in retro stores, let alone at such good prices.

A great week; with plenty of stuff I had been looking for, even though I didn't get to many garage sales.

- Zombies Ate My Neighbors (Genesis. Loose in near mint condition): $1
- Phantasy Star II (Genesis. Loose in mint condition): $12

The nearest Game-X-Change is starting to go downhill again. They no longer have the cases to any Sega Genesis games; probably throwing them out ot make more shelf space. Still, I had been wanting Phantasy Star II for a while; this being the first copy I've seen there in nearly a year.

Non-gaming items:
- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (Paperback book. In very good shape): $1.25
- Batman Returns (VHS. In near mint condition): $1
- Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (VHS. In near mint condition): $1
- Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (VHS. In very good shape): $.50

I may not care much for Star Wars: Episode I, but for only $.50, it's hard to go wrong. Also, I finally have a copy of one of my favorite Star Trek movies.

Firstly, yes it is an old drive-in. Neato, isn't it?

And secondly, I know the guy with the toys. (Had an enclosed booth, right?) He's a complete asshat who never sells anything. I have no idea how he still manages to set up out there.

I've been eyeing that copy of Raft Rider that Games N' Things has (jut fyi). It's good to know that you got some games that you're happy with.

I'll check on the gun. The plastic on the command center seems to be yellowed (wtf?).

I was sort of considering buying that one, since I bought one last month in Monroe, Louisiana but without an end label. But it really wasn't all that good of a game to begin with, so I left it. It's the kind of game you'll play for a maximum of 90 seconds, then say "okay, I get it" and put it away. No wonder Vidtec/US Games never had a hit on their hands with that kind of output back then. Space Jockey was their first game I believe, and they only went downhill from there. What do you expect from a video game company started by Quaker Oats?

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Prince, The (GC) (Complete) - $5

Got this at a sale starting at 9 probably shortly before 9 as they were still setting up. Asked about games and under some VHS tapes in a box was a GameCube ($30) this and disc only Resident Evil 4, $5 was the IAP.

Mario Paint With Dust Cover & Mouse - Free
Game Gear With Baseball Game In System & Wide Gear, missing battery covers - .25

Mario Paint was in the free box at a sale & I got the Game Gear at almost 11, it was marked .75 but the lady wanted everything gone so everything left was .25, she mentioned some other games that sold eariler, I'm guessing Game Gear games.

2 Old 3½ Floppy PC Games & Some Magazines - $1

Everything was marked .10 but I got 20 items for a buck. The Spellcasting Party Pak wasen't even out the guy just gave it to me. I'm thinking he didn't want it out for kids to see since it seems to be some sort of adult game. I only took a picture of the one old Nintendo book and some other Nintendo related stuff the rest was newer like a few last gen EGMs I picked out. This is the first time I've ever found Nintendo Power Magazines at a yardsale.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got this stuff from the Pawn Shop Yesterday, 2 NES games for $5
Pac-Man (Namco)
Zanac
I couldn't remember if I needed Pac-Man (I did I had the Tengen licensed version) and added in Zanac to replace my copy in lesser condition since the NES games are $3 each or 2 for $5
Friday and Saturday Finds:
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5214/dvri.jpg
At a Goodwill, picked up a mint, complete PSX Final Fantasy IX for $1.99 and found one of the first DVRs, a Panasonic Showstopper for $4.99. Hooked it up quick, and it seems to work, has a bunch of Family Guy and Mythbusters episodes, along with a few NASCAR races. Works with ReplayTV which is supposedly free and still around…will be checking into this further.
Found a rummage that had a bunch of gaming stuff, including an Arcade Wrestling stand-up for $200, and a Wii plus 50 games for $350 (all games were CDRs :( ) and I passed on both. He also had some arcade flyers and marquees…sadly passed on a scratched glass centipede marquee, but picked up an Omega Race panel for $5 and 3 Marvel vs. Capcom 2 flyers for 25 cents each.
Another rummage had a ton of cart-only N64 games for $2 each, and I cherry picked the best ones. At my final stop today, I got a Gameboy Mario Golden Coins for a quarter, and a complete SNES Earth Defense Force for $3. An okay couple of days…
I mapped-out a Super Saver Thrift that I had never been to before today. It had just about the lowest prices on electronics I have ever seen at a thrift in Alabama; CDs ranged from $0.99 to $3.99, VHS players were $6.99, and a lone N64 was $6.99.
Low and behold, the shop had a small bin with some GB games within. I searched through the mini junk-mound and found "it". Yes, out of all 6 games in that bin, they actually had "that" one.
Metal Gear GBC. For $2.99. @_@
I finally have a copy to go along with the box & manual that I got for free back in December!
After this, I went to the flea that I frequent in the same area, and got a complete copy of Gradius V for $15. You can never have too much Treasure goodness, right?
Finally, there was a complete copy of Skullmonkeys that one of the vendors brought out for me. He wants $25, and unfortunately for me, I didn't have enough.
Hopefully he'll bring it back out next weekend.
These are from a week ago. Some DC games came in in a place here, and I bought a few... :)
Dreamcast
--
Frogger 2 - Swampy's Revenge (complete) - seems okay, if unspectacular.
Hydro Thunder (complete) - one of my all-time favorite racing games... the long load times hurt this version, though.
Oh, I also got another PSX memory card because the four I have are all full.
Then, a few days ago I got a PS2 memory card, because even though I've only had the system a bit over a year my first one is already full. I've been looking for a while, but didn't want to spend much... so when I saw a used (first-party) one for $5, I bought it immediately. :)
The last few are from today. A fairly new comics and figures and stuff store now carries older videogame stuff. Prices are average to high ($75 for a complete with box Atari 7800? I know that the things are rare around here, in fact that is the first one I have seen in person this decade, but still, that price is too high, even with the box...), but they had some very interesting stuff... could only spend a bit of money, and this is what I got. Cost $20 total.
N64
--
Doom 64 (cart only) (seems good)
Game Gear
--
Sonic the Hedgehog (cart only) (finally... awesome game! I'd been wanting this badly since getting a GG a few weeks ago... awesome to find one)
NES
--
Iron Tank (cart with box and slipcover but no manual) (good SNK shooting fun... with box! They had seven or eight NES games with boxes... you don't see that often, for sure.)
Genesis
--
Blades of Vengeance (cart and box, no manual) -- One of EA's best Geneiss games, I think. It's a side-scrolling fantasy action-platform game, with a 2-player simultaneous mode, and it's great stuff. Quite hard, and it has no saving or continues, but pretty good... I've been hoping I'd see a copy of this game for a while, so I couldn't miss a chance at getting it.)
Today's finds:
8 brand new Dreamcast Rumble Packs - $4
DDR Konamix + Tetris Plus (PS1, Complete, both Black Label) - $5
Both discs need some serious resurfacing. But they'll be replacing my GH copies. :D Also the lady that sold me the rumble packs said she probably has two or three SEALED BOXES OF THEM somewhere. Since I'm a regular she'll probably give me a good price if she finds them.
actually sony makes up to a 500 cd changer i believe, i know at least there is a 400 cd, they are crazy, i have no idea how they work with that many cds. I bought a 200 cd once.
Has final fantasy IX really gone up to being worth $40? I always thought it was a little undervalued because its so much less common than FFVIII.
Garage sales last Friday were a total bust for gaming stuff (did get some more ROMEX for the addition, and some receptacles, etc). I stopped by an Arc's, though, and they apparently had just put out a bunch of returned merchandise since they still were putting out some more stuff, but not sure from what store. I picked out this stuff. Everything but one of the wiimotes works fine. I had a broken wiimote replaced no questions asked before, so hoping for that again.
A different thrift last Fri had this stuff, minus the pcmcia card that was $5 at a garage sale. Orion II was 2.80, 2x SNES ac adapters were $1.95 ea, and the SMS RF adapter was 0.95. I love Orion II, and probably put as much time into that game as any other. I have it CIB, but this box had the strategy guide in it, which I don't think I have.
This stuff was from a sale yesterday that I stopped at while killing time. All of it was $10 (minus the lego set, which was $1 a few days ago). It is all a bit rough, but I think they'll all play:
PS1 Mega Man 8
Curse of Monkey Island
Full Throttle (only got this cause it was LucasArts and I didn't know it)
N64 Beetle Racing
Day of the Tentacle
Sam & Max Hit the Road
"Disc Read Error"
It's when a fat PS2 won't read the early purple-bottomed games.
Sometimes a DRE PS2 won't read any games, but not being able to play the older games is the more common problem. He probably fixed it by opening it and readjusting the laser inside.
Today was a good day for finds.
Off of Craigslist, I got the following:
Apple IIGS, CIB (x2)
AppleColor RGB Monitor, CIB (x2)
Apple Imagewriter II, CIB (x2)
Apple 5.25 disk drive (one loose, one boxed)
Apple 3.5 disk drive (one loose, one boxed)
Apple Macintosh Quadra 605 (loose)
250 MB HDD for the Quadra
Apple II/IBM PC combo joystick
Two boxes of ribbons for Imagewriter II (one has black, the other color)
AppleCD drive
A box full of ADB mice and keyboards
A bunch of software programs
A Tandy 1000EX
One of the AppleColor monitors is dim, and the Tandy 1000EX doesn't want to boot. I think the Quadra works, but when I tried to hook it up to an AppleColor monitor, it did nothing. Any converters to hook it up to a VGA monitor?
Oh, and the cost? $50. Probably the best find I made all Summer....
I havn't gone thrifting in a long time, but I recently hooked up with a friend who's into thrifting equally as much as me and has a car AND knowledge of many stores I was unaware of, we went to about 10 or so stores and should be doing it on a regular basis, heres what I walked away with:
http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/rolo.jpg
the strategy guides were 29 cents each (one of the pokemon one still has most of the stickers) the black gijoe tank is a rather hard to find sears exclusive and in amazing shape.
rolo to the rescue I had never heard of so I picked it up for a buck, and it turns out its an r6 nieat. I had to pick up the shadowgate and cancer warrior books for obvious reasons. scud was marked at 7 but the lady said it was siting there so long she gave it to me for 4. never played it but worth 4$ for the amusing title. overall a good day :-)
Blitzwing: That's a nice haul! I am particularly jealous of the TMNT board game, as well as the Shadowgate book. Should be a fun read! Ya know what's funny is, I also found a copy of Rolo at a Value Village sometime back, but passed it up. I went home, checked it at DP, and decided to go back and grab it because of the rarity (and it's a decent platformer). Sadly, even after cleaning the contacts, it wouldn't work. Who's gonna rescue Rolo? :(
It's late at night and I'm tired. I just got home and I'm still going through stuff, glad I'm off work tomorrow because I have carts to clean. ^_^
I went to the flea market today. After, we went to watch Soylent Green at someone's house (I've finally seen it...) and hang out for a while. Now that's my kind of day.
Here's my flea market finds:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2634/3828625407_c9fcb99e24.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2528/3829425214_a6fc8eef5b_m.jpg
Top row stuff was $5 total. $2 each for Oni and Activision Anthology, both complete, and $0.25 each for the CDs. He had a few more PS2 games, but these were the only interesting ones, also passed on the SMB/DH carts. He had lots of big CD stacks on the table next to the games, but it was all metal. I saw a big rubbermaid container of CDs, and he said the price as I looked through, mostly crap though. I was VERY tempted to also get the sealed (???) copy of some high school's rendition of The X-Files. I picked it up, showed my friends, and the guy just tells me "Man, that stuff's weird!" I almost asked if he'd throw it in, but considering I was only buying $5 worth from him, I didn't.
Bottom rows of CDs were from the guy I used to always get CDs from. I've been ignoring his booth because he went from 2/$4 to 2/$7, and $3.50 for used CDs is a bit steep. Now he's 2/$5, so I dropped $20 on 8 CDs. Very happy to find some Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, and Suzanne Vega that I didn't have yet. I'm curious about that darkwave compilation (OMG APOPTYGMA BERZERK REMIX CREDIT).
Vinyl was from someone I never saw there before. They had lots of stuff, mostly labelled rap/DJ. I flipped through those hoping for some electro 12" promos like I usually find among that stuff, but nothing. Three albums for $3.
...and now for my real finds!
I saw several random vendors with games on their tables today, but they were all overpriced and none had anything interesting. $10 for Redneck Rampage? You know what I'm talking about. I come to this table at the end of a building, the outside tables across from the booths, but still under the overhang. I see boxed PC games, and I'm not phased at all. I see Phantasmagoria in a stack of jewel cases, and I just think "pffft... probably wants at least $30 for it. I start looking through, figuring this guy knows what it's all worth. Black label Metal Gear Solid? Somewhat obscure PC releases? Ico? This guy must know his games, or at least have decent taste. As I look through the PC games, the PS2 stuff, the Genesis carts, I ask if he's got prices on anything while I push the (huge pile of) Everquest expansions aside. He's selling opened EQ expansions, maybe this isn't a regular game dealer...
One. Dollar. Per. Game.
Wow, is the Quadra 605 really worth this much?
Whoa, look at the specs on that thing. Monster.
To answer your question: Use the completed items search.
See how the other two ones sold for $45-ish before S&H?
Now, I think that perhaps the bidder just got desperate, but there STILL are a lot of parts in and work in it that put it a notch above other Quadras - and Quadras are already a cut above the regular Mac of the time. My Macintosh TV is from about the same time, but has a 68030 CPU instead of the 68040, and the rest of it isn't much to write home about. That Quadra would probably be about my dream machine for classic Mac apps -
- but probably not quite worth that money. I find it hard to believe that the few changes such as a new hard drive with SCSI to IDE terminator, new and overclocked CPU, extra RAM (both system and video), and other parts couldn't be done cheaper than the $250 premium - that said, a busy person will appreciate that the work's already been done for them.
There's a few features in there that probably put it above even much newer classic (OS 7.6.1) Macs, like the gigantic (heh) 9GB hard drive (think the original drives from that year are 500MB or less). Other than that, though, I wonder if the general statistics of this particular machine aren't already found on another OS 7.6.1 native machine.
I've been on the hunt specifically for Genesis games seeing as I've been playing the system a lot lately in celebration of its 20th birthday. The Sunday regional market satisfied my appetite:
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u160/Xexyz1337/IM000533.jpg
All from one vendor for $4 a piece. Most are in great shape, although Shining in the Darkness, Wonder Boy III, and Columns are missing their manuals. Dragon's Fury wasn't with the games, instead sitting in a separate box on the other side of the vendors stall mixed in with VHS tapes. I only grazed the movie boxes, so I'll comb them over more thoroughly this upcoming Sunday if he's there again to see if I overlooked any other games. I didn't realize Starblade got a Sega CD release, and it marks my 7th Sega CD game and still no system to play it on :(
This was about 9 this morning when I saw this so I was definately lucky to get it, I'm guessing the NES stuff was long gone by this time so I don't think it would have been around if I was out the door say a half hour eariler. The treasure-hunting gods have been smiling upon me these past two days.
My church's thrift came up dry for me yet again. That place is either great or barren, never any middleground. Coolest thing I saw was a Dell Pentium II, flat white case, no HDD, asking $5.
Salvation Army let me down as well. I've been finding some neat stuff there, with some PS2 and SNES stuff last few weeks, along with lots of great music. Today was nothing.
Goodwill was actually rather good today.
Mario 64 w/manual - $3.06
Wolfenstein 3D - $2.06 (later CD release, includes Spear of Destiny and demos for Quake II)
Resident Evil Director's Cut Dual Shock Edition Greatest Hits - $4.06 (this one was ONLY GH right? I've never played RE, so I don't really care...)
Sega Genesis Model 2 w/box! - $15.06 (I'll probably sell it and keep the box for mine)
and one more thing at the end of this post...
After that, I didn't feel like going home yet, so I hit the library and the thrifts further up the road. I only go to those once in a while, they're not on my normal route.
Got two Weird Al albums on cassette at the library, $0.25 each.
I've been to this one thrift a few times, but the only thing I ever found there was my cassette player. They don't have much in the way of music or electronics, but I found a Psychadelic Furs album for $1. I looked around a little more, and was amazed to see a LaserDisc player! I had a feeling they were gonna ask something high for it, but the guy said $40. I countered with $20, and he went $25. I said $25 for the LD and that one CD, and that worked. I've been wanting to get into LD for a while, now I can. It's also a 5-CD changer.
One more shop down the road got me the Ren & Stimpy promo 2-disc thing for $2, the Amish Paradise single for $0.25, and a floppy disk box that had Descent in it for $1.59. Not sure what to do with all the old drivers, or the keys that are in here. Oh wait, the keys are for the box itself, it locks. That's pointless, you could just undo the back hinge...
And one last thing from Goodwill. This was shoved in with the crappy DVDs, and I didn't see any other SNES stuff. I couldn't remember whether it was really rare or just really weird, turns out it's both! R6, Bronkie the Bronchiasaurus, complete and in great condition! The box has a LITTLE wear, but it's pretty good. Gotta get that $3.06 price sticker off the back...
Resident Evil Director's Cut Dual Shock was not only GH.
Congrats on the LD player - hopefully it's a model with good composite output.
Me, I finally got this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330347937192&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT), pretty amazing deal if you ask me. Nice condition, just some shelf wear and some tiny white patches along the top front of the box - but still very good overall. A step below "like new" because of the wear, and maybe missing a warranty card. Beyond that pretty amazing.
