Well, getting a JP Dreamcast with the DC-X boot cd in a few days.

Will I be able to play NTSC games on a J-NTSC Dreamcast with the DC-X?

Also, will I be able to use a JP VMU for saves for NTSC games? If I need a NTSC VMU for NTSC games, would one of those work on a J-NTSC Dreamcast?

VMUs work with any region. I've used the same VMU with retail US games and burned Japanese games. Don't worry.

You can use the DC-X (or pretty much any other boot disc) to play US versions of games on your Japanese DC system.

You may be better off using the Utopia boot disc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia_bootdisk) than DC-X. I've heard there are some games that DC-X won't work with, though I've never seen a list, so that might be just a rumor.
