Been ages since I posted in one of these threads. Here's some random stuff I found this week:

http://home.comcast.net/%7Enorkusa/9_11_09_finds.jpg

Saitek X52 flight control system - $6.99 x 2 @ Goodwill (YES! Almost paid $100 for a new set last year. Glad I held out. Missing a cord and a suction cup for the base but they can easily be replaced. Stupid that they priced stick & throttle separately though)

Asciiware PS1 Joystick $3.99 @ Salvation Army (don't really need it but I couldn't pass it up)

PS2 Network adapters - $14.99 ea @ Gamestop

Need For Speed ProStreet - $9.78 @ Target (Just got a slim PS3 and needed cheap games to play)

Sims Bustin' Out - $2 @ indie thrift

Super Mario RPG - $2.99 @ Goodwill

Flight Unlimited - $1.99 @ Goodwill

nhl 08 is definitely worth $5, its one of my favorite games and most people prefer it over nhl 09. I play it all the time. I cnat speak for the other two games though.

Since I'm trying to keep track on how much I'm spending on video games (as if I'd be able to accomplish that lol) I'll throw this little tidbit onto the thread:

There were about 6 garage sales total today cause it was raining. I went to one sale and they had a Genesis 2 and Sega CD with Castle of Illusion and a NES with about 6 games for $25 a system set. Told the lady there was a NES game I wanted and asked if she'd sell it seperately. So now I have a copy of Magmax that I got for $3, which is not too bad.

(there's a garage sale that's listed as starting at 5 AM tomorrow, so we'll see how that turns out. The sale is a charity sale that the Junior League of Waco has a few times a year and they always have something decent for sale. I remember their last sale they listed they were opening at 6 but swarms of people showed up at 5ish. I hope I'll find something cool tomorrow even though there's rain.)

Very ... you're talking $200-$300 probably, although it's hard to say because it comes up very infrequently. For PAL Mega CD, Adventures of Batman and Robin is rarest. Followed in more or less even second position by Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Shodown and Syndicate.

Not pictured, as I already gave my brother a few of the doubles:
NES - Turtles II, Super Mario Bros. 2
Genesis - Columns

My friend was tired of storing them so he dropped them all off the other day. I felt bad just taking everything from him so I traded him an N64 for everything.

Yeah. The Sega CD Version is pretty uncommon as well, but doesn't retail for nearly as much. Samurai Shodown for US Sega CD is about $40.

Fatal Fury Special isn't as much as well.

The electronics flea market was today, a Silicon Valley tradition, and the only flea market where everyone is there at daybreak. Here's what I came away with and the groupings on price as nearly everything came from different vendors. Not any stories really, well, none that I want to post. Old Silicon Valley is alive and well for this one morning each month.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2009-09-12(01).jpg

$5.00...
NES - Donkey Kong Classics
VCS - Super Football
Turtle Beach Montego A3DXstream sound card

$1.00...
NES - Sesame Street ABC

$3.00...
NDS - Nintendo DS Lite Browser (complete)

$2.00...
Sound Blaster Live! CT4760 sound card

$1.00...
RCA couplers (x2)

$1.00...
Spin Doctors - Pocket Full of Kryptonite

Think I'm looking for sound cards for a project? LOL Lots of other stuff I came across but you could fill a book with the electronics stuff you see there. Never many games but you never know. Excellent prices for component scroungers as usual.

Stopped into Savers as well (honestly, I hate the store, always stinks like retirement home + phone booth, and supposedly the one in the area is a good one) and found a single item...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2009-09-12(02).jpg

PS1 - Alps Interactive Gamepad

I already have one of these but I figured my brother could use it.

Nearly everything here was for me (except Donkey Kong Classics as I have it but it's always a solid resale pickup) but the DSL Browser will be up for sale.

Tetris Plus (GH, Complete) - .50

Was $1 but took .50

Resident Evil Director's Cut Guide

Oddworld Abe's Exoddus (Disc Only)
Parasite Eve (Missing Manual & Demo Disk)

Ballz (Complete)
Ex-Mutants (Complete)
Street Fighter II' Special Championship Edition (Boxed)
ToeJam & Earl In Panic On Funkotron (Complete)

BC Racers (Complete)
Motocross Championship (Complete)
Tempo (Complete)
WWF RAW (Complete)

$5

Found this stuff about mid morning at an unadvertised sale I passed by on one of the main roads. Total from the prices was $14.50 but they were probably priced from previous yardsales has they easily took my offer of $5. I passed on Shadow Squadron CIB (32x) Clayfighter (CO) & NBA Jam Tournament TE (CO) since I have them already and the rest of the PSX, Genesis stuff was sports, racing or wrestling games.

Fat Playstation 2 With A/V Cord - $2

Saw this late in the day fan & vents looked dirty and I'm guessing it doesn't work right even though I was told it works. Was asking $5.

N64 With Hookups & 2 1st Party Controllers (Gray & Atomic Purple)

All-Star Baseball '99
Excitebike 64
Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside
Madden NFL 2002
Paperboy

$5

After I was done yardsaling I ran out to a few sales in my town at about 12:30 or shortly after. Asked about games and this was brought out and was offered for $5.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-09-12.jpg

$3 each. I only picked up Geom Cube because it's a Technos game, and Technos was awesome.

They had other games - Spyro 1, Crash Bandicoot and a random spinoff, some Psygnosis adventure game, Heart of Darkness (no manual so I left it behind), and Action Man (BLITZ GAMES AAAAAAAAAAAGH) among others. The guy said he'd be bringing a bunch of XBox games tomorrow so I -may- go there in case I find something of interest.

That game is very weird. It's like a mixture of a platformer, a point-and-click game, and a "find the item in the picture" game.

Anyway, I got a TRS-80 MC-10 in the mail today from a member here. Neat little machine.

Found this on top of a stack of carts for the Atari XE. They had the XE system and about a dozen carts. I will probably kick myself for not getting it, but it was really dirty and I don't really have the room. The cost for the Clean Sweep cart? $1. Now I just wish that I had a system to test it on.

slightly harder to find hdg version of the genesis was cheap I did pass up 3 non hdg versions for the same price and a model 2 (no interest really) this one also has the sega cd plate on the bottom (no sega cds in sight though) the games were pretty cheap at frys, 10 for ff11 and 20 for retro challenge (aweosme game, if you havn't played it yet, why the fuck are you still here?) lots of great toys, as well as a galidor lot that isn't posted but the big find for me was this for less then a dollar:

http://www.green-ranger.com/nes/finds/cement.jpg
beautiful shape, a little dusty and a tiny nick on the front casing, battery terminals are clean and has the stand and battery cover. was in a bag of cheap toys for 1.99$

good day indeed, also got a golden sun strategy guide for 2$ and a few asorted nongaming books.

That's pretty cool. We picked up Space Harrier 3D, Zaxxon 3D, Maze Hunter 3D, and Missile Defense 3D a few weeks ago, and have no 3D glasses.

Zaxxon 3D is pretty good, and has a feature to turn the 3D jitters off. I wonder if the others do too...

Aren't you given a random server, or did they do away with that?

You used to need a worldpass to pick your server, and a friend had to buy it, but they were removed a few years back. There's still a gold worldpass, which gives you things like level-sync headgear (not really that useful now that they have party-wide level-sync). After a year, you get a model airship for your moghouse.

Yeah, today was interesting for vinyl. I got all four of those from the place I got my LaserDisc player, and I was in there last week looking to see if they actually had any LDs. When I was looking at the vinyl stack to see if any were mistakenly put there, an employee comes and asks what I'm looking for, and if I like records. No LDs, and the records are crappy, but I mentioned that I collect old electronica and new-wave. Odd that I actually find some this week!

I have the first Switched On Bach on vinyl, but I saw the reel-to-reel tape spool whatever version at my church thrift, not really sure if that's worth anything.

I can't imagine it being worth too much. My father is the only person I know that has a reel to reel player. He also has not used it for several years.I mean almost as old as I am years. Not aware of reel to reel enthusiasts either.

Here's what I got so far this month:

Value Village:

Mickey's Dangerous Chase (Cart-only) for $4.99 - I don't see to many good GB games these days so I grabbed it. It kind of reminds of Mickey games for the Sega Game Gear.

Various collectible/antique shops in town:

Kirby's Dreamland 2 (CIB) for $5.00 - The box is a little crushed on the top, but at least the internal battery still works. (Unlike my first copy, which didn't work even after replacing the battery.)

Crash Bandicoot (Missing manual) for $6.00

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back (Missing manual) for $6.00

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (Complete, GH version) for $6.00

Also, during the long weekend, I went to the PNE (the Pacific National Exhibition) with a friend, and came home with a huge Pikachu plush!

I picked up Mario Teaches Typing 2 (Win 3.1 / DOS) for two bucks, and ten CDs for $5. They come from who I believe was someone who really liked his old music. There's a bunch of albums from the Musical Heritage Society in the bundle. And some awesome ragtime music, too.

today I found a few things of relative interest (to me anyway):

At a game store, they have Xbox games buy2 get 1 free so I got:

Worms Forts
Batman Vengeance
World War II: Iwo Jima

The interesting thing that I learned is that if a game has a manual, it costs MORE at this store! I was looking at Leisure Suit Larry and the one without manual was $8 while the one with was $12. Forget it. Probably not shopping there much more....

Then I went to Half Price Books and picked up:

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (PSP) $3.98
WWF Royal Rumble (Dreamcast) $2

Not worth a picture, but definitely good stuff for the collection.

I'd like to think I did pretty OK on this one:

A 7800 in the box, complete except for manual but does have an extra power supply, with these CIB games:

Ms. Pac Man
Food Fight
Centipede
Galaga
Desert Falcon

And for the 2600:
Crystal Castles (no manual but box)
Word Zapper
Football (loose)

$20 for the entire lot. Pic to come if y'really want it.

oh my gosh yes are there reel to reel enthusiasts out there. Reel to reel audio can fetch some ok money, and reel to reel films on 16mm can get insane amounts of money.

Really? I gave selling those a shot a while back and didn't even get my investment back.

Huh, I guess it's worth a little (http://cgi.ebay.com/Walter-Carlos-Switched-On-Bach-7-1-2-IPS-Reel-to-Reel_W0QQitemZ280392690385QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic _Other_Formats?hash=item4148b4ead1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)... That's about the best I've seen, though. All the other reel tapes they had were the generic thrift store record stack material.

Excellent deal. Pics always welcome. Here's what I got today:

A Bible's For Missions Thrift Store had a loose Sega Master System (Hang On and Safari Hunt built in) with 2 Light Guns, all the hookups and, for some reason, Genesis games with it - $5
The Genesis games are all CIB - X-Men, Ariel Little Mermaid, BattleTech, and Lightening Force

Also bought a Coco 3 with the 512k upgrade, a deluxe joystick and a loose Malcom Mortar cart for $30 from another forum.

reel to reels are just like anything else, there are the ones that are rare, ones that are aought after, and the commons. The player decks though also fetch lots of money.

Penny guides from Best Buy.

Got all of these from a thrift(I always wanted to say that) for a dollar each. I was going to list some on ebay and some in my seller's thread but there isn't anything very desirable in there. So I'll most likely just unload them on a local game/music/movie store I frequent.

Really? I gave selling those a shot a while back and didn't even get my investment back. That's because the money's in the players. Reel-to-reel tapes by themselves aren't worth much, but some Sony, Pioneer, and other brands of reel-to-reel players can bring a pretty penny. I once saw an 8-track (8 different channels at once) TEAC reel-to-reel player bring almost $1200 on eBay!

Jeez. Did Brazil get a huge sale or something? That's like $200 USD worth of software...
