I was in a gamestop today (its on my way to the grocery store, too tempting to browse, you don't need to point out how shameful it is to enter their domain) and I saw in the ratchet and clank game case for ps2 there was a poster of ratchet. I really have wanted some gaming posters lately, so I asked the guy at the counter if he would mind if I took the poster and he let me.

This made me think that it would be awesome to know which games shipped with posters, so I could find them in the store and get lots of free posters. I searched on google but could not find a list of games that come with posters.

So do you guys know of any games that include posters inside? Or of a list that gives this information?

It's weird, I actually thought about starting a topic like this a few days ago. I recently came across some totally complete Genesis games that had posters included and it made me want to know what games originally came with posters so I'd know what copies needed posters to be really complete.

The Hulk for Genesis came with a poster. I'd have to check what other games I have that come with a poster. It would be hard to know for sure because some games just have generic posters that aren't game specific.

I know Mortal Kombat 1 and Mortal Kombat III for SNES came with posters. Not sure about part 2 since I didn't purchase it until years after its release, and without the inserts. I also know most if not all of the GTA games for PS2 came with posters also.

I wonder if I should just turn this thread into a list of which games come with posters, if I get enough responses.

Pinball of the dead for gba comes with a small poster. One of the super mario bros games (either 2 or 3) came with a poster that says "now you're playing with power" and shows a bunch of screen shots for tons of nes games.

Many Lynx games have the instruction on the back of a poster. I know Ninja Gaiden and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure do as well as many others.

No one is allowed to complain about used games being incomplete after this. Ever.

Apart from the generic Play-it-loud poster, plenty of SNES games had them:

- Mortal Kombat II (SNES) came with a double side poster. One side was MKII and on the other was Maximum Carnage.
- Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures
- Run Saber
- Maximum Carnage
- Act Raiser
- Act Raiser 2
- Most RPGs on the SNES had posters too: Big Sky Trooper, Secret of Mana, TLoZ A Link to the Past (original release), Secret of Mana, Brandish, Secret of Evermore, Ogre Battle, Breath of Fire, Breath of Fire II, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Robotrek, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, FF Mystic Quest, Shadowrun, etc.

The only games that I remember coming with a poster was Bart VS The Space Mutants and Maniac Mansion. I think a lot of the NES Capcom games came with posters as well, I believe I remember getting one with all of their Disney games and Code Name: Viper.

Fester's Quest for NES came with a poster.
I think most SNES and Genesis games by Acclaim had posters with them, so did the majority of games by Midway for N64.

The NES poster pictured above was included with several NES games and even some system bundles (such as the Action Set).

Off the top of my head, here's a few more games that included posters:

Blaster Master (NES)
Star Soldier (NES)
Kyle Petty's No Fear Racing (SNES)
Michael Andretti's Indy Car Challenge (SNES)

Regarding Chrono Trigger DS, the poster was only included with the first run of the game.

I have Eternal Champions and Toe Jam & Earl posters that were included with various Genesis games. On the opposite side of the Eternal Champions poster, there are screenshots of various Genesis, Game Gear, and Sega CD games, along with some accessories (such as the 6-button controller, the Activator, and the CDX). I can't remember what's on the opposide side of the TJ&E poster. I can confirm that an Eternal Champions poster was included in Virtua Racing.

Various Master System games also included posters. Here's the front:

The opposite site has screenshots of several Master System games.

None of the earliest games came with posters. Did they? At least in the US.

Also:

All the PS2/Xbox era GTA games came with a poster of the game cover.

Also if you are just looking for game posters in general, Nintendo Power has been putting out poster issues lately. I have seen two so far with alot of the current Gen titles included.

Square Enix also includes posters with pre-orders some times as well. Recently you could get a Kingdom Hearts poster with their latest game. Ages ago they used to do posters with reserve all the time, I have Parasite Eve, Xenogears and Bushido Blade poster.

Lol, well at gamestop most games have already been violated, so I feel like I would just be scavenging off already desecrated remains. Plus, most times the poster is a separate item, so the manual would not need to be taken too.

O yea, thanks man I have a bunch of gta games on ps2. I will check those out.

Thanks for reminding me nintendo power came with posters. I am not going to buy current issues since I am more into older games, but now I can remember to look out for old nintendo power issues in thrift stores.

Wow, a very hard thing to list, IMO. It can even suffer variations from lots.

Many third party US N64 games, I think... we can try to list them...

For curiosity purposes, in Brasil, mostly games released by Tec Toy. (It's like two different posters for each console)

Unfortunately, the brazilian N64 games missed all the extras, like first party game cards, the third party posters and even maps (Shadow Man, for example).

Just about every GTA game included a poster with a map on the reverse side - although, IIRC, GTA IV ditched the poster in favor of an additional map.
