I could have sworn I remember seeing a commercial when I was a kid for some Batman game on Virtual Boy.

It had Batman fighting the Riddler. Said something cheesy about, "if you blink you're dead", or something like that.

I'm not very familiar with Virtual Boy, and couldn't seem to find any info on the game in the Rarity Guide.

Was this a planned game, or am I maybe remembering it for some other knock off system?

I don't know of any plans for a Batman game for the VB, let alone one that would have been far enough along to have commercials.

Are you thinking of the R-Zone game?

Ah, you're right! It was for the R-Zone, come to think of it. I don't know why I thought it was Virtual Boy all these years.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I'd never even heard of this R-Zone before. Seeing that it's a Tiger handheld though it must have been crap.

Hand held is only one of it's versions.

I always wanted the R-Zone headset -- I thought it was cool. :)

I used to have it along with the Millennium Falcon Star Wars game. It's pretty crappy.

I remember those R-Zone commercials...for anyone who had/has one: did they actually work? Can you actually see with the headset?

the headset looks kind of badass, if it actually works.

You could see the headset, but it was still pretty poor, the whole system was, really. A friend of mine had one back when they were new, and we played it for a combined 10 minutes probably.

Thing made the Virtual Boy look like an AES.

I still own the headset with 2 games. The games were just like any other tiger lcd game from the 90's.

It did come in clear, but it was a huge eye fuck because one eye was playing while the rest was looking at the rest of the world

Wasn't there a third version of the system?

I don't think it was on the market long enough to get a third hardware revision. I've only seen the headset and the 'handheld'.

I saw the handheld R-Zone in a thrift store years ago, but I didn't know anything about the system at the time, so I passed. I haven't seen another one since. I really regretted not buying it. Mainly since I have a few R-Zone games but the headset makes them totally impossible to play. I just want to be able to play the damn things once, even though there's damn near no real gameplay to begin with.

Ok, the was the headset, the tabletop/handheld, and the regular handheld w/ small screen (not big and magnified like the tabletop/handheld.
