I never even thought about that, I've only ever shipped to PR 1st class but could see how the cost of shipping priority or parcel could really get out of hand with the zone difference.

But remember, this not only applies to PR, but to any state which distance is greatly exceeded.

Like in my example, shipping to Washington from New York is much more expensive than shipping the same item to PR from NY. This is because there is greater distance from NY to WA than from PR to NY. This applies to packages over one pound and NOT sent Flat Rate Priority Mail.

Still kind of blows my mind that SNK Playmore has short print/run/shipped this title vs. the Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury collections.

Hopefully they'll do another printing in the near future for anybody who didn't get their hands on it.

It'd be a shame for THIS of all the PS2 SNK Playmore collections to be the rare one.

I'm still hoping they'll bring the Sunsoft, ADK, Last Blade, Kizuna Encounter, Garou, and KOF Nests / Orochi collections.

And then I start to cry.

Game release near the end of the console life tends to get limited releases. I wouldn't be surprise by SNK. Anyhow, I am looking forward to Sakura release next year.

They're showing 0 now with an Out of Stock image overlay. I'm checking my email though, and I'm not even seeing my receipt in either email...I'll check my printed receipt.

EDIT: Apparently, they don't send you a copy of your receipt (sucks...). It states "You will receive an Order Shipment Confirmation email upon shipment out of our warehouse."

When did you order? I ordered mine on 10/29.

Talk about understatement! Here's a brief synopsis of the events that have transpired following my order at discountbooksale.com:

I read up on all the BBB complaints filed against them and call to cancel my order and "membership" ASAP. They tell me my order and membership have both been canceled and even provide me with a verification number. Fast forward to this evening, and I decided to check my transaction history to see if the charge has been removed. Not only is the original charge still there, but another charge in the exact same amount has appeared.

I have since had to have my card deactivated; it'll be 5-7 days before I get a new one. Needless to say I am filing a BBB complaint against these scumbags. Ultimately it is my fault for being impulsive and not doing some cursory research, but it would be nice if fellow DPers didn't point others to ripoff artists.

I was going to order from discount book sale a few weeks ago, but looked around the site, and I'm assuming its for the Wii because it doesn't state which platform its for but there is a link to it in the wii section. if anyone wants to take the chance though go ahead.

The link I had was for the PS2 version based on the UPC number matching the ISBN used on that site. Needless to say I have removed the link and suggest not to deal with that site due to the complaints that was linked by understatement.

I'd guess that this happened because they did get a limited number of copies in, but had a significant number of outstanding orders. I ordered the last time they got in some stock, but they ran out before my copy shipped and backordered me. I didn't cancel my order, which meant that one of the copies from this new stock was reserved for me and shipped to me. There were probably a number of other people who did the same thing, which explains why they're already out of stock again.

If GameQuestDirect got some copies, then it's confirmed - the game has been reprinted. Once something shows up there it's because there's been a reprint.

Not necessarily. I would suspect they are just bringing in the remainder of the Canadian unsold stock. They are notorious for selling Canadian version games or getting mysterious restock at low prices which ends up being Canadian stuff.

Does this even matter? If the game has been reprinted this is a good thing and means people who've wanted it and for a reasonable price can do so much more easily.

I'll probably start looking for it again, even though I haven't seen it in a while.

Agreed. I cannot say those who're upset at the price dropping aren't justified but I suspect a larger portion of people exist who are satisfied or pleased. Prices should never go up, only down.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom exists probably because the arcade hardware used may have been easier to port to Wii, and definitely to sell more arcade sticks.

I'm looking forward to the US version, but am also disappointed that developer and localiser laziness led to the exclusion of Phoenix Wright.

I haven't seen this game at any retailers around but to be honest, I haven't really looked for it. The Wii version looks to be more readily available but does it play as good or better than the PS2 counterpart? I remember people saying the SNK Classics was not good on PS2 but excellent on Wii and I had to wonder if the trend continued for this release.

Well uh... SNK Arcade Classics on the PS2 blew because the developer was Terminal Reality and they had no fucking clue what they were doing. But the Wii version was fine because, I assume, of the slightly more powerful hardware.

The bulk of Samsho Anthology was developed and ported by G1M2 (the loading menus, the UI, and the way Samsho 1-5 play and load are just like every one of their compilations). But Samurai Shodown VI, I have no clue who did that. It's the PS2 port of the game, but with everything unlocked...

You can list items for sale on Amazon or Ebay at whatever price you want to. It doesn't mean anyone will pay it or that it's worth what you're asking. Even during its peak, most copies were going for between $50 and $60. Still a nice margin on a $15 game, but not worth going crazy over. There are tons of copies of this game up on Ebay now for $20 or less. I am starting to lean more towards the reprint theory given how many sellers seem to have gotten this back in stock at once.

More positively - my copy from that brief second restock at CDUniverse came in the mail today. It's the US version, not the Canadian version, with English-only packaging and only one manual. I'm enjoying it so far, but I'm not sure what to think of SS6. It's kind of... weird.

So, usually, SNK's games get tossed into the bargain bin very quickly.

But has anyone looked at the eBay prices for Samurai Shodown Anthology? Used copies of the PS2 version are selling for around $50 on average. NEW versions go for over $120. Why the hell is this particular title SO EXPENSIVE? The Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury Anthologies got relatively large print runs, but man... You'd think SNK would want to print a second run of this game.

Maybe I'm just pissed that I couldn't buy this when it was new. Still. WTF? Over in Japan it's even gotten a budget release, so it's not even close to being rare.

Maybe I just wanted to vent... They've gotten several collections that we won't get (ADK, Sunsoft, Savage Reign). Stupid SNK. >_<

Actually, a bunch of people as well as myself was talking about Game Stop's shady(hidden) practices over at the ATLUS forums just the other day, and this game was used as an example(as to it being insanely hard to find, due to Game Stop's BS).

Well evidently GS has an internal rating system, and depending how good "they" think the game will be, they may or may not allow pre-orders(aka order the shipment so it arrives on day one) or GS may not order any shipments at all(seeing how 80% of the retail gaming stores in the USA are either GS or owned by the same people, this is a rather big problem, and makes no sense for GS to do this, but that's what they do).

Now I don't know what that game is actually worth(it may be fair or it could very well be a rip-off), but that's what is going on here, and such actions would surely drive the price well above the standard for fairly new games(unluss the game is like utter crap, thus no demand).

bcks007: Yes, that's their scam. They inflate the price artificially - even if a game retails at $15 they'll still sell it at inflated prices.

That's funny, because at GS, there is no such thing as a newly released game that cheap(29.99 is like the cheapest).

Believe it or not, there HAVE been PS2 games released there at $15 or less. Some of SNK's compilations were sold for $15 from the start, and I think some recent budget games have been that cheap too. :P
