I was just wondering just what everyone was looking to find this year at CGE. Are you looking for that rare Colecovision prototype? Those elusive (at least for me) Game & Watch games? A test unit for any system?
Me, I'm looking for as many NES and Lynx games as I can find/afford, and possibly a reasonably priced Vectrex and a few games.

I'm looking "for a good time." :D Seriously, this year I'm going in WITHOUT a shopping list. It's more fun to just poke around without expectations.
And if you're looking for a Veccy, be sure to attend the CGE auction. I *guarantee* you'll see quite a package up for grabs. :D

I'm looking for love, in what I've been repeatedly told are, in fact, all the wrong places.
Seriously, I'm just looking to be eleven years old again, minus the acne and the hyperactivity. And with that list of arcade games, I'm sure I might just achieve that state.
I might buy a few carts here and there, but y'know, that's not what it's about for me. I'm going to meet new and old friends, hang out and hear what the legends have to say, and go tripping down memory lane.
I might sneak out and go through Star Trek: The Experience too. You never know. :D

I'm going to experience something new, and since I've never been, just going is something new. If I find some good prices I'll probably pick up some NES games too.

Honestly I'm not looking for ANYTHING! I pretty much got everything I needed last year (and several things I didn't need), so unless I see something special that catches my eye I'm going to get in and out of CGE under $100 this year.

Well... I think I've talked myself into going to this... I've never been there, so I have no idea what expect. I guess I'm just expecting it to be like any other show I've been to, walk around and look at all the REALLY cool stuff and wish I had it, but since I don't, just enjoy it while I see it ;) . That and talking to all the other classic gaming fans and hopefully see a few of the gaming legends (how personal does the show get?). I'm still unsure really what the show involves, but with classic video games it's GOTTA be fun!

It can get sort of personal, meeting the people that you've only typed to before. Some people simply walk around aimlessly (or seemingly so like myself) and some get in small groups and talk and hang out while they wander around and look for stuff. It's a great time!

Wasn't that a Leisure Suit Larry game?

ROFL!
So, is it actually possible to get out of CGE for less than a hundred bucks? I'm so not counting on getting off that easy. X_x

Couldn't have said it better myself! I can't wait! We have lots of girl talk to catch up on! Although I sure hope one of you is talkative because I just kind of sit and listen. heh :)
Since I have no real money to spend- unless I get super lucky on the slot machines- I am looking forward to meeting all of my DP partners in crime! And playing free games. And just having a good time.
I'll not be looking for the media cameras. Those things add 10 pounds to you, ya know? Eeep! *misses her skinny days*

Well so far I'm 0-2 in that department. Last year I almost did it until I met Dan "Mr. Prototypes" Kramer and blew $500. Oh well, maybe this year...

Yep, yep, I can vouch for spending lots of money on Dan's stuff, and I've never even met the guy. :-D
DogP,
The show is very informal and personal. It's not like any other show or gathering you've been to. While wandering around or looking at merchandise, it's very possible to find David Crane or Alan Miller standing next to you. The guests are very receptive to meeting, signing, and talking with the fans.
One of the great things about CGE is that it's all about the people. Getting to meet everyone, fans and celebrities alike, is one of the main reasons we do this every year. (God knows, it certainly isn't for the money). :)
Trust me when I say, you'll have a great time.
