I have a question for anyone out there who may have an AV model Famicom (the one with the dog-bone controllers). Does it have the same AV cable end as the Super Famicom/N64/Gamecube? I'm looking into buying one, and wanted to know if I'd be able to hook it up through S-Video similar to my Super Famicom/N64/Gamecube (since they all use the same cable). Thanks for your help!

Apparently it uses the same multi-out cable but only works with composite.

Yup uses the same composite AV cables as the SNES, N64 and Gamecube. No S-video though.

I'll triple confirm that it used the same AV connection as the SNES/SFC/N64/GC but with NO s-video.
I just tested it last night.

Bummer that it doesn't output S-Video. Oh well! Thanks a lot for the responses everyone!

Yeah IIRC, s-video awareness wasn't very high during the time of the AV Famicom's release.

Actually it's because the AV Famicom doesn't have any S-video capability. The only way you can get S-video out of an AV Famicom (or any NES/Famicom console for that matter) is if you mod it for RGB and use a video encoder to get chroma and luma signals.
