I have a prototype of Tecmo Super NBA basketball. It is very similar to the final release, with a couple of small differences that I can find.

1. The release has the correct title scroll by in the intro. The prototype has "Tecmo Super PRO Basketball" scroll by, although both carts include the correct title in other places.

2. The copyright dates, 1992 for prototype, 1993 for release.

There may or may not be other differences, I am not a big fan of basketball games so I haven't played it enough to know for sure.

I put a bunch of pics and a couple AVI's up here:

The cart has an individual's name on it, and I've found that this individual was credited on Legends of Wrestling, which was developed at Acclaim SLC very near the time and place that I discovered this cart.

Anybody have an estimate of it's value?

Neat. Since it is a sports game, I imagine it would be worth between $40 and $60.

If you hunt hard enough, it will happen. Just have to do your research and have your wallet ready when you do find one ;)

Congrats on the proto, very cool piece!
