AVGN would never do a video with the Irate Gamer. The Irate Gamer made a name for himself by plagiarizing Rolfes show. Chris Bores is a loser who steals ideas from other people. He doesn't have a creative bone in his body. He's suited for doing wedding videos locally. That's as far as his talent lies. The problem is that sometimes people will stumble upon the Irate Gamer first, before they've heard of AVGN. They will think the idea is funny. And then later on when they hear that the whole concept was created by a guy called AVGN, they're not willing to believe it. But facts are facts. AVGN came first.
Not only that, but the Irate Gamers videos are not even close to the same level of humor as the AVGN's videos. The AVGN has comedic timing. The Irate Gamer is like a guy at a party who tells a joke and no one laughs.
Yeah, that's a real sad way to make a name for oneself and now James won't give him the time of day. Sure, being a YT partner really helped to get his name out there and even some front page attention which is why some viewers may have watched IG first but the real fans know the AVGN was not only first but much better. I don't know what's wrong with the guy but Chris has a huge ego and handled this issue all the wrong way. I wouldn't wish the contrast haters, poor DVD sales, and getting totally embarassed on national radio on my worst enemy.

At first I did not see anything wrong with him reviewing some DVD's. That is, until I decided to search on Amazon for the same DVD then realized he was one of the actors.

Yeah, any Youtube profile without any names on the channel or actual person in front of the camera is a red flag and it's a good chance it was a dummy account created by Bores or a puppet friend himself to stroke his own ego.

I'm not sure if you know me but my name is James Bores, I do the Irate Gamer videos on youtube.

I feel compelled to finally write you since my videos are starting to get popular on youtube and tons of people are comparing my quality of work to yours.

I don't know if you'll end up reading this because you probably get tons of emails in a day and I know mine would be swimming in the sea of them, but I wanted to write you anyway.

Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know I've been a fan of your videos ever since I saw your Ninja Turtles game review around last year. And I gotta say, it was very inspiring to me. In fact, I hardly got any sleep that night because I had hundreds of new idea's flowing through my mind of what I could do with this intriguing thing you started. But due to my career, I had to tuck them away for a few months until I could get some spare time to record them.

Now I'm not sure if you've ever seen any of my reviews or ever heard of me, or heck, even like me for that matter, but I just wanted to take some time out of my busy schedule and let you know I respect your work and I do try my hardest to not copy your material. Although in my earlier reviews, I will admit, that I accidentally used some of your well known made up words in my review and I only found this out because people were telling me I did. I felt really bad about it and still do because the last thing I want to do is steal your catch phrases.

Since then, I made a point to watch all your reviews again and to make sure not to make that same blunder again. So if I ended up causing any negative feelings because of it, my apologies. But hey, I just wanted to email you and let you know I respect your work and clear the air of any hard feelings if there are any, because I'm just doing this stuff for fun and I know you are too.

So thanks for everything, and I should mention, since day one I thought it would be neat to do a duel review with you, but I'm still trying to figure out how getting both worlds to collide would work. Hmm Oh well, maybe one day. Thanks again my friend, and I'm glad to see you doing so well!

It's cool to hear from a celebrity and seeing that awesome knockout man! I really respect what you fighters do for a living and it's great to finally see MMA getting legalized in Ontario, eh? With mma now legal in Ontario, I am certainly hoping to be able to walk out my front door and travel very little to get to the venue. It would be nice to not be the away team all the time lol. Ontario has the biggest mma market in North America. We have more PPV pays then anyone else. Not to mention, 50% of the fans at the UFC events in Montreal, were from Ontario. Imagine a UFC event in the Rogers Centre! :)

Back on to Retrogaming (since this is a retrogaming forum hehe), I love my turbografx 16/PCengine too. I managed to amass quite a collection of PCengine stuff while I lived and competed in Japan. Unfortunately, my North American games have been set aside because my Turbo Express (I don't own the TurboGrafx16 console anymore) stopped working on me :(

Great review as always and thanks for the mention and repping the sport. Man, I miss my Turbo Express. Not too long ago, a friend of mine came over and wanted to see it in action. It would power up, but to my dismay, all I got was a black screen. I figured maybe the turbochip/hucard was dirty. I cleaned it and same thing again. I tried all sorts of games and still nothing appeared. I am thinking that perhaps some sort of circuit blew in the machine. Maybe one day, I'll be able to replace it. Sigh...

Has he ever attended any gaming events since all this kicked off? I started watching AVGN around 2006 and somehow stumbled across IG without a clue about any of the problems between the two but I was pretty taken back when I first saw IG's BTTF and Turtles reviews.

After reading this thread I went and tracked down the radio interview where they launched at him effectively calling him a hack. Thought he handled it well enough but that should have been the time he stepped up and admitted to it, apologised etc Especially with some lunatics on the net and he's off out there posting his home address.

Hey, congrats on making it to the UFC dude! It's awesome to see a big gaming fan like you make it to UFC 134 and showcasing your skills to a bigger audience after all these putting on great fights on smaller MMA shows here for companies like Warrior1 and the Scoe Fighting Series.

And not to defend the guy, but I've seen a lot of AVGN Wannabes and Chris really isn't so bad, all things considered. He at least knows how to edit a video, which is better than 99% of other reviewers out there.

The IrateGamer can also do a better green screen effect then the Nerd can. But in all seriousness, I thought the war on the IrateGamer was over. He's down to 136K subscribers, I swear he had way over 200K at one point.
