It does say on the CD and case "For Turbo Duo Use Only" but i've never seen or heard of this. Needless to say, the DP guide does not have this on there and it doesn't look like an official title to say the least. Homebrew for a slide show?

It's legit...had a REALLY low release run though :) Very rare....but I doubt it's worth quite what he's asking. Maybe worth $50 due to scarcity, but NOT $150 for sure. There are 3 or 4 different Hawaiian bikini games for the US Duo....all very rare and hard to find. They're listed in the PC Engine section of the DP online guide, but not in the US section yet. Thing is....they're 10 year old bikini shots from Hawaii..you have to ask yourself how much that's worth to you. They're unlicensed, but known releases.

Yup as max says its legit, theres 3 of them.. I have all three for myself, and 2 of the three for trade. I'll be interested to watch the auction, it surprises me that its had no bids, i know i was very lucky to come across the ones i have, and ive only ever seen any 3 of these titles listed once or twice on ebay in the last couple of years.
Personally i wouldnt feel like my collection was complete without them, but as max says they are just slide shows of chicks in bikini's, only for the hardcore Turbo collector.

Years ago DisKounters had these. Hawaiian Island Girls is still listed in their online catalog for $39.99 if you want to check it out.

I've never bought from DisKounters. They've got a few games I want, but how is the service, overall?

He's not too bad, I bought a cart from him. I tried to order online, but it took him almost a week to get back to me to let me know if it was in stock. He has a good portion of his stock at a flea market which he can only get to on weekends... I ended up in the Chicago area after I asked online about the cartridge so I stopped by his booth to pick it up instead.

His online shop is horribly out of date, ive emaild him more than a few times trying to see what he has in stock, either no replies or if he does reply its to say he doesnt have it anymore.
Ive not yet ordered from him, i was going to get some games and a bunch of the re made hu card slips they had done, but in the end i gave up trying because i found his ability to reply to emails was very limited and i didnt feel comfortable that if i ordered something it would arrive in the correct condition or that my order would even get filled

I'm really sorry to hear that. I used to order stuff from DisKounters all the time with no problems, but this was years ago. Things change...

Thank you to everyone who posted about DisKounters!
Yes, DisKounters went under some changes.
I am now in Bolingbrook, IL and I do still have tons of TG16/Duo/PC Engine games.
The web page was supposed to be worked on by a friend, who never really did anytihing, so I have basically abandoned it until the new one is rolled out.
I was actually considering taking a course on web design, so I can work on my own page.
The flea market is gone .... Tony's Finer Foods bought the building, and basically evicted us... for Burlington Coat Factory. There is no new location as of yet, so I am struggling on-line.
I miss my retro customers, it was fun chatting about the old games and systems.
We still have tons of new hu-card slips. The problems we had with filling orders came from moving offices. We explained that to people via email, but what can you do? I have to find a new place to list the Hu-card slips, as the Turbo List seems to have evaporated.
Remember though, communication is a two-way street. Presently, we reply to each and every single email within 24 hours, but trying to get responses to the emails we send seems to take longer.
Thanks to all for the memories! :-)

If you cant find a good place for a fleamarket, perhaps sometime soon you'll be able to start selling some of your games here then? Lots of interest in TG16 games, perhaps you'll find a good market here. The rent's nice and cheap even.

I would hesitate to call this "official" in any way. It's basically a third party developed slide show of girls in bikinis from the early 1990s. There were similar titles for the 3do and other systems from the early multimedia era, but this is the only time I can recall such a product being released for an American system. It's not sanctioned or licensed by NEC or TTi, so I think you would be hard pressed to find many Turbo collectors who are actively seeking this title.

believe it or not, turbo collectors do seek them out, and they do bring some crazy prices. They do, however fluctuate a lot. I've seen them go for $50, $150, and even $300 before. it's a total crap shoot trying to price them. I hate to have to include them, but really they're no different than anything else that's been non-licensed before. They did come out during the lifespan of the system.

So is my collection of 44 USA Turbo Grafx/Duo CD games set not complete because I do not have these unofficial softs?
I view it as the NES collectors view the Sachen games…
I try for 15 years to obtain every USA Turbo Grafx game and had complete the CD game collection just 2 years ago and then now because I do not have 3 disc of Hawaiian woman slide shows my collection is fail?
If I have a chance to get them as a side collection then I will obtain them but to call a collection incomplete because a fellow is lack these discs is mean for me…

No, that's all really up to you. I personally don't collect unlicensed games for any system, whether they were released during the lifetime of the system or not. The fact remains that they exist, however, and you can choose to deal with that however you feel is right for your collection.

If these were actually sold somewhere in the US then I would count them in my collection. Where were they sold?

I'm pretty sure I saw them at Die Hard Gamefan (was that the name of the store?) on Ventura Blvd. here in Los Angeles back in the day. They were both a retail store and a mail order operation. I'm sure there were other mail order suppliers that sold them as well. I don't know if being sold somewhere in the US is a valid criteria for determining whether or not something goes in my collection. It would make the bootlegs you can buy in Little Tokyo and elsewhere a valid collectible which I don't agree they are. Of course, everyone can run their own collection by their own personal rules.

there were for sale in the us at retail. I view them more like a Color Dreams release than a Sachen. or better yet a Pansien. They're just unlicensed. If you don't want them don't buy them. who cares if you have a complete collection or not? It's not a real big deal.

This isn't a bad thread to revive. My new question is, should these be switched to us releases in the database?

If it helps the argument at all, pirate collections consider the boobie games to be part of a complete US turbo CD set.

Just so's ya know, this forum moves along pretty quickly. If the topic's more than a few days old, you probably need a really good reason to bump it, else crusty oldtimers will come make fun of you. ;)

This is one of the most bizarre threads I've read. In a month, anyway.
It's exactly like it went down in The Terminator.
Diskounters comes through an internet time rift, chased by SuspendedGirl. At one point I'm pretty sure he busted up a GameStop and took some sales associate's sunglasses, then drove off in his Honda Civic.
If you get involved with this you may find yourself in some weird time vortex and before long they'll be looking for YOU, Sarah or John Connor.

It's a vortex, not a time rift. Let's get serious here.
One should not mess with SuspendedGirl unless one is
prepared for their own little "game over".

Fuyukaze,
I would consider selling here, I still do have a few thousand TG16 games, and some other classic games. I'm currently working on my office, and will then start a complete inventory of the classic games I still have.
Why did I reply to this thread knowing it was so old?
Someone asked a question about a game I have and also mentioned me.
The Turbo-List mentions the game also, and some collectors consider it part of their collection.
