I would strongly encourage bringing Rock Band. It's an awesome party game. Either the two musics clash a little bit, it's not like we have some sick giant sound system coming aside from the seasoned mix, or we turn down one to play the other. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring Rock Band (3?). Hopefully you'd have Drums, 2 guitars and 3 mics. I can bring my USB stick with a ton of DLC if it would help. And I can bring Lips mics if we need to. If anyone has Mic stands, that is always an awesome addition.

You'll be surprised how you can get away with playing multiple musics in a space.

Is anyone focusing on other multiplayer games, like Chu Chu Rocket (and SF Rush 2049 for DC!), Warlords/Medieval Madness, Super Bomberman (TG vs SNES?) or whatever is 4 player?

My other comment is, don't be classic obsessed with the game titles. We all play them. It's a great opportunity for people to see any type of multiplayer, whether it's the latest NBA Jam on 360, or Video Olympics. Let's interact!

The big thing with me not wanting to bring it is pure laziness. If I can get one or 2 of you to help me grab all that shit during the auction so that I can avoid multiple trips (and also when the party is wrapping up), then I can bring it. I have rock band 3 (no keytar because I am lazy and never bought 1), but i have drums (with the cymbals for pro mode), 2 guitars (one wired, one wireless), 1 mic and a mic stand. Yeah, that is why I was thinking of not bringing it since that it alot of shit to lug around and if there is a dj, there is a chance that you will be competing for volume, which is never fun. I mean, I don't give a shit really. If you guys really want me to bring it, I can, but I am not going to make a really big effort with it or anything.

I can be as much help as an intoxicated person can be (not super drunk, but haven't been to Vegas in about 10 years). I would be willing to pitch in some cash for some good booze/beer. I'm sure there's a costco, trader joes and/or bevmo near. Ha!
Maybe someone who likes some of the stuff I do can split something with me.
Johnnie Walker Black (or above is what I usually drink)
Good scotch, definitely no Glenfiddich Bleh!
Maker's or other good straight bourbon
Jagermeister! is always good

Beer wise, My favorite is probably New Belgium Trippel.
but good micro brew lager is nice when its summer/hot.

I will be in town sometime friday if there is anyone who wants to meet up/gamble/drink etc. Once we get there, I'll have a drink in hand at all times, except for maybe while playing some games.
I think I have some cups/straws I can donate.
If anyone wants, can PM me for my info.

That would be epic! The more people we have Saturday night willing to pitch in for food and booze the better and much appreciated. As previously mentioned on here, let's really focus with going with the flow at this point and let the After Party be what it will be. That being said, Sega Ages you better bring your Rock Band set up ;) We are all chanting your name.

Key focus, beer and food on time ;) Thanks everyone, see ya in Vegas!

Okay I'll commit to pitching in for some Jaggermiester and Monsters for some mixed drink action. $20 okay?

Oh, was wondering, if the off chance that somebody gets completely wasted, would it be possible for someone to crash on the couch or something. I personally am not planning on it, but I was wondering what the stance was on this.

Is there "on time" in Vegas? Drunk time I know very well. Approx what time is this supposed to go down? Hopefully its close to my room!

I would be willing to help bring up to the suite, most likely. But too intoxicated to bring it down late that night.

Even though I'm bringing an iPod playlist to bump some after-party tunes, I agree that Rock Band is much better for this sort of party than whatever is going to be pumping out of a meager sound system.

So seriously, don't worry about "the DJ." Quite frankly, your DJ is also a singer in a band and would rather belt out some tunes on Rock Band. BRING IT! :-)

If you don't play something off of Pretty Eight Machine by Inverse Phase the party will be a lose...

A couple tracks are already in the playlist, in-between the Best of Bootie sections! http://bootiemashup.com/bestof for the curious

Well cool breeze. I am sure there will be somebody there that will let me drop that stuff off in the suite before the auction since the auction is always an awesome time.

I will probably be rocking a really bright colored shirt (probably my Jet Set Radio shirt which is really bright yellow with massive red Japanese text on the front).

I am not exactly hard to miss. Just say something to me if you see me and we can run out to my car and grab the stuff during the show and drop it all off in the suite.

I forgot who said they had more mics, but it is a good call to bring those with you since I only have 1.

I figured, if it is cool with the people who got the suite, that since it is an after party and it could last all night, that I would just leave my shit in there until Sunday and pick it all up then (unless you need the suite cleared out by a certain time).

EDIT: I booked myself a room (that way if I end up getting a little fucked up during the day or after party, I do not have to drive all the way down to my place), so I am just going to put my stuff there and worry about grabbing it whenever

Of course you will.

And in the spirit of DP name tags, are name tags being made for the show as has been done in the past? Kind of late, I know, but would be cool to have those for the party.

SegaAges,

Totally man! Just hit me up at the show, I'll have the room key to the suite so I can let people up in advance to drop things off. Like you, I wont be hard to miss, just look for the guy in a white suite ;) I'm also managing the Museum so pop in their as well if you can't find me elsewhere. We have the suite for a whole night, I believe the check out is Sunday by noon so please have whatever you need picked up before then and you are golden!

Also, the after party will officially start a half hour after the auction ends at 10:00pm. So it is crucial we have booze before 10:30pm. At or before 10:30pm we have to put the order in for Pizza. Also, sign up sheet and entry fee/donations will be collected at the Digital Press booth. Thanks everyone. We are going to get so wasted!

I hope that the local liquor stores have some, because that's the only thing I hope to be drinking at the after party.

hey dudes, if somebody wants to be a dove and pick up some AA batteries, that would be very awesome. I have rechargable batteries, but I only have 6 batteries, and that is the exact amount of batteries required for my 1 wireless guitar and my drums.

also, i am not going to bring the cymbal attachments because, well, I don't feel like it. Besides, I have used the cymbals a bunch, and 9 out of 10 times, nobody uses them except for me. using the cymbals is awesome, but for an after party, it is better to not bring them. i have already had 1 break on me (they do not break as easily as the band hero cymbals, but they are prone to break very easily). even still, the drums work like a dream (i lost the battery back, but that does not effect gameplay). Just a heads up that I am not bringing those because I just don't feel like it. It takes awhile to get used to using them, so unless somebody plans on staying sober and experimenting with the drums until they get used to what to hit on the screen when cymbal stuff happens, then it kinda sucks because then one person hogs the drums so that they can figure out pro mode. We have all played the game before, so we all know the game is crazy fun without the cymbals.

Also, batteries. Please, if somebody can get some batteries, that would be magical.

be ready to rock kids, because i have the setup taken apart and ready for travel.

I thought the party was awesome.

Huge thanks for bringing the Rock Band rig, although I wish I'd brought my Lipps mics. And we could have used a sound system for louderness.

DP party was better than ever, and I loved the suite!

Nice work to all who were involved in making it happen!

A list of things I'd want for next year:

A dark room with party seizure inducing lighting and Adrian's mix (where was that?) for dancing/partiness. There were three separate rooms after all.

A better curated selection of games, like Dreamcast with Chu Chu Rocket and SF Rush and 2600 with Warlords highly recommended.

Otherwise, super bitchen awesome!

Adrian

The mix was there! But... there was nothing to play it on. No sound system to speak of. I've been in many "high-roller suites" in Vegas, and was a little shocked that there wasn't even a basic iPod clock/radio to play on!

So glad to meet a lot of you that I hadn't yet! Everybody was awesome.

Glad that people enjoyed the whipped cream vodka. I couldn't get the cookie dough flavor local to the hotel, but the ABC store on Freemont had the whipped cream. Just as good IMO.

As far as the games that were present - I LOVED the SNES homebrew port of the laserdisc arcade classic Road Blaster (AKA Road Avenger AKA Road Prosecutor) that was on the SNES flash cart. Anybody who gets one of those needs to download that game.

Actually, my friend, Shadowkn55, made that MVS, as well as many other great things. (Like an RGB modded PC Engine Duo-R) I highly recommend his work if anybody's interested in console mods. He posts here under that name.

And yeah, genesis/Sega CD looks BRILLIANT on those PVM's. The nice thing about Genesis is that it has RGB natively, so all you have to do is get a SCART cabe off ebay and plug it right in. It's awesome. SNES works the same way, but it doesn't seem to look as good on a CRT as it does on flat panel with a component mod, oddly enough.

Post the mix up somewhere though, I'd love to hear what we missed out on! ;)
