if not that could be your problem
and you system could do with a service

thx for the reply!!! *goes to the page on the link* and...what do you mean by "and your system could do with a service"? o.o
well, i don't use OFFICIAL sega adaptors, but those supply both (tested with analog and digital multimeters) 9v/1.2A, and the sega genesis performs quite well, so that's not the problem i think...i tested the sega cd parts (transistors, ALMOST all capacitors (there are like 30 @__@), etc) and all that i've tested are in good shape and perform as they have to...i even replaced the fuse (because it was not useful, didn't work)
i think that the BIOS chip could be f*ck'ed up...could this be possible? o.o

i mean have you tryed to clean the system contacts on the sega genesis
part where it conects to the sega cd that could be at fault
i mean by service is i would fix the system and than replace the back up ram battery and check everything out i have done a few in my time.

oh, yes! i have cleaned the piano-like contacts in the genesis and the input in the sega cd...i tested it with a multimeter and yes, there is conductivity between the sega genesis and sega cd pins...each one of 'em
and the battery was replaced, no results =S
very appreciated, well...i wouldn't have a problem with put the sega cd in your hands for being repaired...i live in chile (south america), i can send it to you...the thing is how do i pay you then? o.oU

So I have a Sega CD II system that a friend gave me that is in pretty good shape and hooked it up to my Genesis II flipped the switch and.....got nothing. Thanks for sharing that...

well, several months have passed since this problem i haven't been able to solve, i gave up in that time, and i wanna keep up with fixing it...because i haven't that money to buy a new on internet (because buy one that ships to chile is expensive, the shipping is more expensive than the console itself D: ) or even to bring it to service...so i am thinking now on replacing all capacitors (i tested them all in september and all "seemed" to be alright)...could that fix the problem? =S
since the fuse that i replaced RECIEVES voltage and the regulator (it isn't the typical 7805, is a NEC 2605) receives 8 and gives 5 volts and the filter receives and give voltage...i can assume that they AREN'T the problem =S
