I'm in the east bay. I don't think it's particularly uppity here. :P

Specifically, I'm from Concord. Kind of a crap town, but it could be worse.

I'm a Concord collector also. It's an ok city. Def a lot more stuff to be found here than a lot of the more rural areas.

Speaking of Concord...what ever happened to Matt's Game Exchange? I remember way back in the days when they were just in a small shack off of Port Chicago Highway (literally...I think it was originally just a storage shed in the middle of the parking lot). Last I saw they were on Clayton by the Philly Cheesesteak place near the downtown BART station and then poof! Nothing.

Yeah, I miss Matt's Game Exchange a lot. They were in that Clayton Rd location for quite a while; they moved there in 1998. I remember they got a Dreamcast when it launched in Japan and had it set up for people to play.

They disappeared a couple years ago. Someone told me they got shut down for giving away bootlegs or something, but I don't know how true that is. Their selection had started to dwindle, but they were still a nice place. Without them, the only place to go is 4Jays out in Antioch. They're okay, but I miss Matt's. I'd been going there for years.

I feel kinda bad because I started this thread and then completely forgot about it... but I've since refound it, and it's cool to know so many DPers are somewhere near me! lol

Ok, it's time to do this like Brutus. I'm going to have a retro games get together soon. In my Garage I have a theater setup, with my 8 foot screen, and we can run whatever systems you want in RGB on that thing. Also, I have like 3 rgb monitors that I can have running, all with their own system, running in RGB. We can link up some Playstation 1's or whatever. Anybody that comes will get to see the main even of the night. The main event being Way of the Warrior in RGB on the 113 inch screen in 7.1 sound. Trust me, you ain't seen nothing like that.

Everybody should put all their trade bait in the trunks and we can even do some whealing and dealing. I'm guessing a Saturday would be easiest for everybody, and the event could last from like 3pm till later into the evening. Have a barbeque and just kick back and discuss crap. WHatever.

Anyways, I'm thinking sometime in August. Only thing is, it's super hot in Sacto, so that could be an issue. Well, anyways, we can eventually find a date when there is decent weather at some point.

Actually you know what, the weather could be a problem. Have to find a day when the highs are in the high 80's but not into the 90's. Because we have had birthday parties and stuff there when it was in the high 90's and even 100's and it's just freaking unbearable until like 9pm. So weather will be a factor, but if I can find a week when the weather is supposed to cool down, then I'll do it then.

If anybody would make the trip to Sacramento, let me know, this way I can gauge interest and plan it around the people that can make it. We can do one Summer gathering, and then do one in like September or October.

Sounds good to me dude, like I told you keep me informed. It's a bit more of a drive than it was say four months ago (I used to live in Solano County, now in Contra Costa) but I'm still up for it. :)

Well, looks I won't be able to make it to SC3, since I have to go to Dallas for a GameStop show. NWCGE only for me this year!
