Ended up investing a lot of hours into this one, I tried out a lot of the new Pokemon and rotated my team around a lot, but it was all worth it. Easily the best Pokemon game to come out in year, I give this one a high recommendation!

I can't think of all of the games, but the most memorable is Super Mario Bros. 2 (US) for the NES. I just could never do it, and recently I sat down over at my friend's house and completed it. He had never seen anyone do it, and I finally paid off a childhood debt of mine.

0_0 Simply amazing in the most epic way. Stunning to look at and has additctive gameplay. The story is rather simple and has a few holes, but the way it's presented gets you around it's flaws quickly. Just keeps throwing twists at you, when you think you're done, there is still more to do. Highly recommended.

This was my first time completing Gex in one sitting and doing well getting 99 lives without cheating. The hardest part for me was defeating Rez without looking up a strategy, but after 25 tries or so I beat him. It was a 4 hour playthrough for me from start to finish. I recorded myself a nice video to use parts of later.

Last time I played Gex was years ago and I beat it by cheating - using my ex stepdad's last password and just going for the last world and boss, just messing around on earlier levels.

Still working on Pokemon Red but it gets tiresome so I will probably be playing other games in between Pokemon Red sessions.

3/30 - Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii; 81% complete) - Great game. The difficulty is present ;the collectable items in each level are tough and fun to find; the level design and boss designs are awesome. And the remixed versions of classic tunes is very well recieved by me. My few complaints would be the regular enemies feel pointless and add almost nothing to the level like they used to (difficulty wise). Also the lack of animal partners is depressing.

The first Wario Land is pretty fun. The only game in the Wario series I've played yet that I liked better is the next one for Virtual Boy. I prefer the gameplay of the first two Warios over the invulnerable approach that was started in Wario Land 2 for Game Boy. I haven't played Wario Land: Shake It! though so maybe I will like it once I work my way through the series and up to it.

Pretty damn fun. Lots of amazing new Pokemon, unlimited TM use, much improved Item Finder (and many chances to use it), compelling story and an interesting Dream World website for adding more fun to the game. Highly recommend this to any Pokemon fan.

Call of Dut: Black Ops. The rumors were true, the single player campaign sucked. But the online multiplayer was awesome as always. I couldn't get into the nazi zombies mode for the simple fact that it took forever to find games and when I did it was very rare when I wasn't the only person with a mic. It's hard to cooperate when you are the only one who can talk and you have no idea exactly where you are suppose to go.

I saved all 99 mudokons in Oddworld this evening. This was one of my favorite games during my teen years. Still working on Pokemon Red, Final Fantasy (8-bit) and Gex 2.

Lords of Shadow. At first I didn't like the game much, but it's definitely a very good game. Starts off slow just make sure you stick with it. The further you get, you acquire more accessories and learn more attacks to expand Gabriel's combat repertoire and it just gets much better the further you progress. The level design is well done and a lot of the areas you go to especially later in the game are just beautiful. The storyline is just decent though, not bad, but not really amazing. You could say it's as good if not better than most storylines this gen though. Didn't like the after credits part though, even if they weren't trying to tie it to Castlevania, they could have left it out.

1. The Saboteur - Finally, the my first beaten game of the year! This was a rather fun game, a few frustrating missions, but otherwise it was a great game considering it was rushed out the door by EA.

4/17 - Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together (PSP)
God...it only took 97 hours! I was definitely ready for the story to come to an end; yet I was sucked into the experience the entire time. This is a legit 90+ hour game (as most may already know), it's not 90 hours maxing out and doing side battles, etc.....it's 90 hours steadily moving through the story line.
The new features and animations added a very fresh new feel to this classic. Very pleased.

Last week, that was my first time beating any version of Gex 2 without cheating and skipping things by using a password that wasn't mine.

All of Kirby Super Star went quite well for me again in one sitting.

This week, ohhh Tekken 1 is very frustrating. I beat it as Kazuya as he is the character that the cursor is already on when you get to the character select menu. This is the most challenge I have experienced in a game for a long time. I feel very accomplished for getting through it.

Streets of Rage and Streets of Rage 2. I've attempted Streets of Rage 3 on multiple occassions but, assuming there are the same amount of stages as there are on the other two games, it seems near impossible. The only way I'd probably beat this one is keep using the quick dash attack with the robot/android.

Pretty damn amazing game. I wasn't a big fan of the first Portal, but this really took the cake (no pun intended). The voice acting is what realy makes this game fun and the much more detailed story keeps the fun-ball rolling, to say nothing of the interesting gameplay.

Altered Beast. Since I've picked up Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection I'm replaying a lot of classics. I tried out Altered Beast arcade and I suck at it. I don't like how it controls. Is it bad emulation for the arcade version? It feels like the response rate comes almost half a second after you take an action. The Genesis games are fine though. Aside from giving you better all around control though, normal mode on the Genesis version of Altered Beast is still easy mode compared to the arcade version.

I played this game back when it was new on the PS2. It's as amazing now as it was then. Interesting take on both stealth games and 3D platformers in general. And the story, while simple, is full of fun, humor and really pretty comic styled pages.

Surprisingly so, yes. I don't remember this game being difficult when I was 10, but damned if time hasn't dulled my memory. I think it's partly due to me growing out of liking that genera.

That's a good question. I tend to not find entire games hard, just aspects/areas of a given game, such as World 6 in Mario 2, half the missions in Jak 2 and all of the mini-games in the Sly Cooper series. I guess the only game I've really come across that struck me as a pain in the ass all the way through was Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, which just confuses the hell out of me, as I'm normally good with the Puyo Puyo type games.

I feel like this version was easier than the original. Maybe I'm just better at these type of games now than I was a few years ago, maybe the difficult parts of the game have been refined in this version (a lot of the difficulty came from poor hit detection in a few key parts), or maybe already knowing where the story was going helped take a lot of the confusion out.

Fun times all around. This took everything that made the last two games in the series great and did it better. Although I did find my of the mini-games in this one to be especially annoying, it was a well put together game with a great ending to a great series...at least until Sly 4 is finally released.

Really awesome collection. The Sly Cooper series is a staple of the PS2 era's 3D platforming goodness and is something that everyone should experience a little of. Plus, the collection is rendered in hi-def and costs about the same as getting all three games on the PS2 currently, so it's inexpensive and looks great.
