Finished Portal 2 finally. I would've finished it 2 weeks ago, but I inadvertently saved over my latest autosave. Poof...there went the last hour of gameplay. Anyway, great game. Not worth $60...but I'm sure 95% of people didn't pay full price. I know I didn't.

After that I played some new games and then played through RE4 and MGS4 again since they are just awesome games!
The next games to hit the list is Outland, Donkey kong returns and Layer section!

10th game beaten this year is something that could make a few of you envious. Just completed my first ever playthrough of Super Mario RPG! I've never been much of a RPG fan, but this was pretty damn addicting. It must have taken me an hour to come up with the password in the sunken ship, and I certainly felt dumb when it finally hit me.

Not sure what else to say about it, except, if you've been holding out on playing this for the last 15 years like I have, go and change that now!

Although I had read the general plot of CC years ago, it still confused me the hell out of me at times. The plot, writing and excessive characters needed some serious editing. 45 is just way too many and that it shows the lack of character development for the majority of them.

Additionally, unlike CT, the playable characters seem to ever rarely discuss anything. Many times I questioned why Serge was doing this or that. I put this down to the multitude of characters available. At times it feels like the whole adventure is a side-quest and the more interesting 'main' story is only hinted at. Though I suppose they were saving that for Chrono Break.

Having said that, the battle system is fun, if easy and the soundtrack is one of the BEST I've heard in games in years. And CC does have some truly haunting/epic scenes. If only the rest of the game had been much tighter it could have equalled CT.

Funny how these things go, I had only beaten one game within the last few months, and now I've suddenly beaten two in one day. Gradius was a spur-of-the-moment thing, and considering it was on Easy (the second difficulty level, but also the default on the PSP collection), it's no big accomplishment. It is, however, the first time I've ever beaten the original Gradius in any form. Wonder Project J, on the other hand, was a replay, and I aim to immediately restart and beat it again, finally earning the best ending.

A pretty interesting game. I stopped playing around half-way through months ago but I finally decided to finish it off. I really liked the soundtrack and graphics, and the gameplay was decent. The story was terrible though. It had some really great moments where the music shined.

I have to say I may have liked the game itself more than Mana.

I remember playing this game when it was new on a friends PS3 and making a silent note to buy the game myself when I got a PS3. When I finally did, it was the first game I downloaded. Of these last three games I've beaten, Vandal-Hearts took the longest but also drew me to complete it in less days. The story really draws you in and completing just one level can take a half hour or more if you are trying to beat each one without losing any characters, finding all the secret treasures and killing every single enemy. I made sure I did that.

Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout got repetetive fast. It takes more effort to level up than in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 22. You actually have to go back and level up your kicking if your main attack is punching, just in order to gain more health.

Tekken 3 is even easier than Tekken 2 from what I can tell. Plays much more smoothly. The original three Tekkens were fun and good for their time, but the first Tekken I ever played was Tekken 4. Playing the original three first made me appreciate how smooth the fourth one is that much more. I have yet to play any DC, PS2, GBA, GCN, or Xbox games this year but am looking forward to when I get that far.

I'm all done with my replaying of the Wonder Project J series now. No matter how many times I play the sequel, the ending never stops being emotional for me. The series, the company, and the composer couldn't have possibly had a better swan song.

Last night I finally beat Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. I chose the good ending so naturally I went and loaded the last stage back up so I could get the evil ending and watch that cut scene as well. I liked the game as a whole but it wasn't as fun as the first one and even seemed quite a bit shorter. Now I'm going to go play the Dlc for it.

After that I'm thinking about starting a second play thru of Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic on Xbox. The first time I played thru it I had never downloaded the Dlc so I didn't get a chance to play Yavin Station. But I made sure to download it for both my Xbox and 360 before they shut the servers down for it.

The Saboteur. Really good game. While not as good as GTA4, there are still things it did better(mainly in the area of combat.) Missions are fun, also extremely replayable due to all the optional Nazi installations you can destroy scattered around the game world.

It took a little practice, but I managed to beat the default (easiest) path of Star Fox. Not a big accomplishment to most, I'm sure, but I'm proud of myself since it's the first time I've beaten a game like this on any difficulty. It's always nice to expand my horizons.

Infamous. Finished the game on hard mode going all evil this time. The game is actually pretty average to be honest. It's pretty cool just getting more powerful, good storyline, and the platforming missions are nice, but it's an extremely repetitve game. The second one looks like they polished it up a lot so I'm sure it'll be better, but I won't be getting it until it's around $30.

- I never really got into SHMUPS ever. I didn't have much time to play anything like an RPG this week so I finally decided to pop one in. Whenever I played Shmups before I would get pissed and quit after I died fully powered up but I actually gave it a good shot this time.

This was always my favorite of the trilogy, with some of the best visuals and music of the three. The rather large amount of combos available (with the use of a six-button controler) are a nice addition, but I found myself sticking with the basic punch/kick method, ignoring weapons as well. I first played this as a kid and, I gotta say, I don't remember it being as hard as it was.

- Finished it on Normal and then Hard. I liked the updated map and shinespark "puzzles" to collect certain items; I disliked the more hand-holding approach in the game, since the game directs you where to go and what to do sometimes. The last portion of the game kind of came out of nowhere too.

- I've got to play this game more often. It's obvious that I'm very rusty at it. Got stuck in lower Norfair with little energy, right after defeating the Golden Chozo. I stuck with it and managed to finish it this afternoon.

Dead to Rights Retribution. Another poor game. Good thing I got it for free. While the cliche storyline didn't bother me, the repetitive gameplay did. At first the combat was somewhat enjoyable but it was already boring after the first real stage. The entire game was pretty much 10 stages, exactly the same, with different environments.

Yeah, being in college somehow I still find the time to play a lot. Partially because my learning style is based on remembering things easily and not on studying. I thank games like Zelda for sharpening my memory.

If it weren't for the weekly tracker forum on Atariage I would never have this much focus to beat about 100 games in half a year. Before that started, I ended up playing games like Super Mario Bros. over and over again and didn't cover much new territory at all. So starting the beginning of January it was a hidden New Year's resolution (one I didn't actually plan on) to give all these games one more replay for a while without going back so I can finally begin on my backlog of games that I never played before. Within this series playing, I ended up buying and playing games I never had before as well.

You might say you can't beat a game like RC Pro-Am because it's endless, but I consider getting the last vehicle and scoring 1st place in the leaderboards as beating the game, at least on easy mode if it could be measured by difficulty level. A lot of these were beaten on easy mode but it still counts. Next year I can re-play any games that have a "Normal" or "Hard" mode to keep the next time I play them more spread out.

It's weird though. Some games I consider different. Like with Sonic Adventure for example I don't really count it as finished until the last boss is beaten as Super Sonic, meaning you played through as every character.

Now I've beaten two of the four N64 platformers created by Rare. Banjo is a bit better than Donkey Kong 64, in that it's more focused and streamlined, but it still can't hold a candle to their work on prior systems. Banjo definitely isn't as good as Super Mario 64, let alone a Mario killer as some make it out to be.

3D Dot Game Heroes. Finally trying it out, I thought I would dislike it due to the art style, and I kind of did in view A, but changing it to view B it was more top down so you could actually see what you were doing and it's an extremely fun game. This gen is still garbage overall, but this is one of the few amazing games this gen.

One feature which is spoken about a lot is the references to other games. The quotes don't make the game though and it's really icing on the cake being able to find a number of quotes from other games. It doesn't feel like they forced the different quotes in the game either, it's just they actually fit right within what was happening at the time. Both great writing and great localization.

An amazing game. A strange mix of 3D platforming, FPS and RPG. Ends on a very surprising note as well. I highly recommend everyone with a PS3 sit down with this.
