View Full Version : Who has a complete US 3DS collection?

It's probably unhealthy...I won't deny that...but to each their own. I am collecting a lot for the 3DS but not every single game, for my "full library" fix I just track each release for my website.
Anyway guys, added Horses 3D to the list up top. Here's a short list of titles that "may" be out in the wild somewhere as well...
50 Classic Games 3D (Amazon ship date today, still not in stock)
Boulder Dash XL 3D
Mahjong: Warriors of the Empire 3D
The last two games are probably not out. Overstock.com is the only place I've found that lists them as available so I decided to put an order in and just see if they actually ship these...
Amazon is saying September 25th for the last two which is at least a Tuesday, so is probably tentatively accurate.

Overstock is actually processing my order right now...which is kind of a shock to me. I know Giant Media Group's website says all four of their 3DS games are available right now (which also include Firefighter and Alien Chaos) - but no other site has them available. Overstock has the other two listed for pre-order.
I haven't dealt with Overstock in a couple years at least actually but I've never had a problem before...if these actually ship I can think of only two things. 1) Overstock happened to get a shipment of these somehow - GMG had been targeting these titles for late last year and then February this year according to some sites. 2) GMG is bailing on these titles for mass distribution (they've missed their release dates a few times) and is liquidating stuff to Overstock and maybe elsewhere. 3) I'm going to get Mahjong Cub3D and some other random game in the mail...Probably getting way ahead of myself (I like to do that). Stay tuned...

Might as well add a bit of an oddity as well...
THQ released both Paws & Claws Pampered Pets Resort 3D and Let's Ride! Best in Breed 3D last Tuesday. Yay! I know...
While I've been able to procure product codes for my website rather easily online, I wasn't able to find a bit of info on either of these two (big surprise). So I tracked them down at Gamestop. I noticed the box code for Paws & Claws was CTR-P-AP8E-USA (which means the cart code would correspond as LNA-CTR-AP8E-USA).
Onto Let's Ride... well, it had a UPC sticker on it. I figured Gamestop did it at first and then I noticed what it was covering up. The box code was the exact same as Paws & Claws as well as the UPC. Someone copied the Paws & Claws product data onto Let's Ride's box. To the untrained eye it's not noticeable at all - it's hardly a Resident Evil Revelaitons screwup, but probably pretty embarrassing for whoever did it within THQ. Anyway, the UPC sticker doesn't issue a new product code, so I'm now very curious what the cart code is for Let's Ride or if that got screwed up as well. I highly doubt they'd reprint any of this, but I suppose it's possible...might have a variation to watch for. Too bad it's some generally uninteresting shovelware title, but I'll keep an eye on it down the road.

I got too ahead of myself - Overstock realized their error and fixed the dates to sometime in September. It was worth trying. Stupid that they charge your card first though, but the cancellation process went smooth enough...

Funky Barn 3D is out and about in stores - it's actually a pretty frantically-paced game for being a farming game. Reminds me of a poor man's Viva Pinata on speed.
Amazon has posted tomorrow as a release date for Top Trumps NBA All-Stars. I'm not sure this game will actually get out the door, at least that quickly... I've heard absolutely nothing about it and Amazon seems to be the only reliable retailer stocking it, at least for tomorrow.

I just got an email from Amazon about a week ago that they were canceling my Balloon Pop 2 order because 'it will not be released by the publisher on the expected date'.
I think that is its death kneel.
I also got my corrected insert from Capcom about a week ago. It is the standard 'correct' insert. Nothing special or fancy.

Yeah - I think Balloon Pop 2 was taken completely off Amazon's site along with a couple of other projected UFO releases...
Top Trumps NBA All-Stars also was supposed to ship today but got an infamous "Temporarily out of stock" message today. I pre-ordered last week, so we'll see if it goes through. I know this particular game has been oft delayed if it ever really had a set release date...

Figured I'd do a little update guys, since it's been quite awhile. I took some time off of buying 3DS games as well. There hasn't been a whole ton to come out this year yet (25 games so far I believe), which is nice since I'd prefer the 3DS get no more than 75-100 games a year. If you've seen any recent releases come with a special lenticular cover, let me know...

While not quite like the DS in its heyday, it looks like we are getting to the point where some lower budget games release out of nowhere and with no fanfare from companies like Maximum Games, Rising Star, Telegames, etc...
I updated the list to include American Mensa Academy as Amazon has it in stock now (it's a Maximum Games title). Telegames is apparently shipping out Classic Games Overload: Card and Puzzle Edition this week (and looks like they are the only distributor sans maybe Best Buy). I've ordered a copy directly from them, so we'll see!
I also ordered 50 Classic Games (Maximum Games) off ebay. I had no idea this title actually made it out until recently, this was supposed to release LAST YEAR - so I had given up on it. I'll add it to the list if I actually receive my order. It appears a few ebayers and Amazon third-party sellers have it in stock. We'll see if I actually get a copy of this game...
UPDATE -- American Mensa Academy shipped - looks like even Gamestop has it, so fairly common title I guess. 50 Classic Games has shipped out too, I tentatively added it to the list as well. I still think it's quite possible I'll get the old DS version of that game, but we'll see!

Hey guys - I received Classic Games Overload: Card & Puzzle Edition in the mail direct through Telegames. Considering the lack of fanfare and advertising - I'm guessing I'm one of the first to own it. Telegames does offer it through Amazon and advertise that Best Buy will eventually stock it. I also received American Mensa Academy and look to be getting 50 Classic Games 3D in today too. Another Maximum title, Junior Classic Games 3D is a bit of a mystery. It appears online with a Nov. 2013 ship date, but a couple sellers have taken to ebay - including newegg. I put in an order with newegg and will wait and see on that one...
Other than that last game, nothing else looks to be out there for 2012. Sonic & Sega Racing Transformed has been delayed until February and the new Brain Age game seems to have been delayed as well (but supposedly was originally shipping today or tomorrow). Hope all you 3DS owners/collectors have a great holiday! We'll reboot this list when the release calendar comes back around next year.

Hey guys, was browsing the 3DS section at Gamestop today and ran across three games that I had known of for awhile from release date "delay hell" (as in these have been hanging on a lot of retailers websites forever with no stock). Well, apparently a small stock of these finally made it out!
I found these three, all by GMG Play (also known as Giant Media Group)...
Boulder Dash-XL 3D
Real Heroes: Firefighter 3D
Top Trumps NBA All Stars
Needless to say, I never thought these would actually get released. Alien Chaos 3D and Mahjong 3D: Warriors of the Empire are two other titles by the same group that have been on lists forever as well but don't appear to have been released, so I've just added these three.
I checked up online about the status of these and it appears, for now, these are Gamestop only (I checked some zip codes and it appears they are currently only at east coast Gamestops as well). It looks like Boulder Dash-XL can be bought on Amazon too.

Haven't tried Boulder Dash yet guys, but Top Trumps NBA is a pretty terrible game. Simple card game that could, in theory, be fun, but it's so dang easy after you get the idea. I was completely shutting out the CPU every time with any team. The mini games (sans the erratic but sorta fun free throw "contest") are all pointless.
Cant wait to try Boulder Dash next though...got it in my 3DS and ready to roll with it next.
Oh - thought I'd add that the Gamestop I went to only had one copy of each of these games. Not sure how rare these may or may not be, I find it interesting they are the only retail games not listed on Nintendo.com's online catalog.

OK. Safe to say we are done with the 2012 release calendar. I added Junior Classic Games 3D to the list since I saw it in-stock at Best Buy. I also added all the variants/special editions I know of - if there are any others, let me know. I'm particularly interested in tracking the lenticular cover releases, but I don't think any game in 2012 released with one...

Jaws was a 2012 game. It came w/ a lenticular cover. As did WWE AllStars.
I've not seen Pro EVO 2011 or Cave sell new w/o the lenticular card (in the case of Pro EVO) or the slip cover (for Cave Story).
Only other game that came with anything like that this year was the Amazing Spiderman, it has a foil slipcover.

Jaws: Ultimate Predator was released Dec. 1, 2011 and WWE All Stars was Nov 22, 2011 (Amazon dates) - I do remember buying both right before Christmas last year. Crazy I haven't even played WWE yet, but I remember the mindless fun I had chomping beach-goers in Jaws lol - that game is truly the definition of "mindless" too.
I added the Spidey cover variant, I believe it's been released without the slipcover as well, right?

Hmm, after a little more digging today I see that Mahjong 3D: Warriors of the Empire and Alien Chaos 3D (the two other GMG Play titles) are currently listed in-stock for Target and Wal-mart (however, online ordering only). I don't know what to make of the odd distribution of these GMG titles. Here's a breakdown of what I can see...
Alien Chaos 3D (Target online, Wal-mart online, no Gamestop listing, no Amazon listing)
Boulder Dash XL 3D (Target online, Wal-mart online, Gamestop online and in-store, Amazon currently unavailable)
Mahjong 3D (Target online, Wal-mart online, no Gamestop listing, Amazon currently unavailable)
Real Heroes: Firefighter (Target pre-order for 12/31, Wal-mart online, Gamestop online and in-store, Amazon available)
Top Trumps NBA All-Stars (Target pre-order for 12/31, Wal-mart online, Gamestop online and in-store, Amazon currently unavailable)
So Wal-Mart has all five, Target has three, Gamestop has three, and Amazon has one...
I've ordered Mahjong and Alien Chaos and will add those upon receipt of order. I just feel these are the first true oddball releases for the 3DS and might as well snatch them up (plus Boulder Dash has been really fun, I have hopes for Alien Chaos too!)

Shit, I didn't think that they both released in 2011. I bought Jaws really close to release, but I guess I didn't realize when it actually dropped. I didn't get WWE until 2012 so I'll blame that for my released in 2012 logic.

Glad to hear you got the games in-hand. I am out of town til' New Years so I'll find out what I got later. I will likely keep these shrinkwrapped too until (if) they have wider distribution. Unfortunately Gamestop gutted their only copies of the other three GMG Games.

Thought I'd give this a good update and a bump...added 16 games since the last update
No surprises other than Mastiff's Heavy Fire: The Chosen Few finally sneaking out after a long time on projected release charts (their "Outdoors Unleashed" Alaska and Africa games still don't seem to have seen a release).
I sold a huge chunk of my 3DS collection so I'm just going after titles I want to play and quirky, possibly rare stuff like Heavy Fire.

Don't forget the NARTUO spine error.

Got it, I was completely out of the loop on that one...amazing that has now happened twice with spine errors...

Updated the list guys. Up to 201 titles I believe, unless I missed some really under the radar stuff. Two titles in particular are on Nintendo's site but appear to be digital only releases (Puzzler Brain Games and FIFA 14). Also not sure if Young Justice Legacy got a release yet...

Haven't seen Young Justice yet. As of looking at GameStop's site today to check something, it still showed as a 'coming soon' title with a release of 11/19.
Also with 201 released titles, i'm just at 50% of the total library. <_<
