Local shop had them all on the rack. These and gameboy players for the gamecube (which were once a hot commodity) show up in bulk around here at times. Never quite figured out why.

Actually picked up a few things today. Only a couple are gaming related and a couple are Kitsune type.

Heh... ditto here. :p

So a guy had a few Saturn games out for $3 a pop. Eventually he said "$5 for all" but some were in such horrible condition that it wasn't worth it. Plus he would've included Criticom in the bundle. CRITICOM. One copy of that game is enough, thank you! Anyway. Turns out he had a ton more games but someone beat me to them earlier in the week... Sucks.

I picked up Tomb Raider for $3. It's in okay shape, but the disc needs a bit of cleaning.

Outlook 2003 cost me a buck (er, actually, 50 cents and 7 Pesos.)

CD - The Kinsey Sicks: I Wanna Be A Republican
Well. Um. I saw it and thought, hey, you know what I need in my collection? Drag Queen Acapella singers! Or Dragapella. Yep, I'm not making that up.

A Star Wars Trilogy Arcade off eBay for under $400, the monitor may need replacing or adjusting, but the game plays and I'm picking it up this weekend. I can't wait to tinker with it, I'm excited. :D The one in the photo isn't mine, mine's a bit beat up, thankfully the artwork on the side is intact.

Thats one of my favorite arcade games and I was pissed that the Dreamcast version never got released, making it another arcade exclusive.

I didn't find anything game related today, but I did find some late '70s and early '80s electronic toys that I couldn't resist picking up.

http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp222/StevePW/armatronspeaknspell.jpg

The Armatron was $3.49 (I don't know if it works yet, I forgot to pick up batteries on the way home) and the Speak and Spell was $3.99, and still works fine.

Picked up this lot tonight off Gumtree (creigslist equivalent) for $140.

Really suprised it was still there, the ad was up for more than 5 hours.

Easily the find of the year for me today.

Second Silicon Valley Electronics Flea Market of the year, held once a month during the fairer seasons. Last month there weren't very many sellers and while this time there were considerably more, the numbers are still kinda low. I say gas prices have the most to do with it. Anyway, there were quite a few video game items out and about but as with most people that hoard old technology, they think it's worth its weight in gold.

Intellivision with maybe a dozen or so boxed games, $65.00 OBO for the contents of the box. Original Game Boy, carrying case, 13 games in great shape, all with cases - nothing spectacular but a nice diverse lot, $75.00 but she had some "wiggle room." That seller also had a boxed Konami LaserScope, sealed copy of Mario Clash for the VB, a complete but loose Bandai U-Force, a small Colecovision lot, a complete Intellivoice, stuff like that. I didn't ask prices on the other things although I should have because you never know, some things could be cheap, but I didn't get that vibe from them. They also had an IMSAI 8080 in spectacular condition and if I remember correctly were looking for $350 for it. Nice thing is you can still get service and support for IMSAI computers.

So no game stuff and no purchases yet (was also looking for some project parts). I'm passing a lot of stuff up but making the wise calls. As I get to the end of a row I see a large blue box sitting on a table. The sellers always have rotational junk but know their components. I've bought some Saturn games from them before for like $10 for 3 or something like that. Anyway, I recolonize the big blue box as a Pop'n Music controller. So I'm making a beeline toward it from down the row. As I get there there are two old techs talking about it, something like "now THOSE are some big lighted buttons, what'd you suppose you'd do with those?"

I tap on the top of the box and ask the seller what she wants for it, the response is $5.00. I do my best fast hesitation and tell her alright, if anything I can figure out something to do with the buttons. She figures the same, that someone out here would find some use for it. At this point I didn't really inspect it or anything, outside of nothing the PlayStation cable. I know the buttons are easily more than $5.00 a pop, even if it does end up being thrashed. After about another hour I left the flea market, having bought nothing else.

Got home, gave the controller an inspection and it's in pretty good shape. My intuition was right, it does appear to be a Desktop Arcade Pop'n Music Arcade Style Controller. It's a little worn here and there on the finish but these controllers are built like safes. A couple years ago I was thinking of going heavy into Pop'n Music and was considering ordering an ASC from Desktop Arcade but the money just wasn't there. Looks like it's time to buy that Japanese PS2.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2011-04-09%2803%29.jpg

Thankfully the 9V battery inside that powers the lights hadn't leaked all over the place or anything. It does need to be replaced though, would have done it already but surprisingly I don't have one on hand. Anyway, that's another $25.00 upgrade from Desktop Arcade. So controller + upgrade + shipping would be $200 + $25 + $25 for $250.

Not bad for five bucks. :D

As I said above, now it's time to dive into PS2 importing head first - haven't really done that since the heyday of DDR on the PS1. Good thing I already have a bunch of Densha de Go! controllers. LOL

I took a trip out-of-town today for the first time this year; getting to look around at some stores I've been wanting to go to for several months.

However, the trip was mostly a letdown; Best Buy didn't really have much (All the computer stuff I came to see about was a lot cheaper on Newegg or even the Radio Shack back home), the selection of graphic novels at Barnes & Noble was terrible this time around (No Deadpool, no Crisis on Infinite Earths, no Haruhi Suzumiya, and barely any Lucky Star), and the Gamestop I looked in didn't have Persona 4 (Regardless of what the website may have said before I set out this morning). However, I did at least make one decent find over at Game-X-Change:

- Sonic CD (Sega CD. Not For Resale version in original case, in very good condition): $8

Although I've never really cared much for Sonic CD (It's not bad, but I always felt it was the most overrated of the original 16-bit Sonic games), I couldn't pass it up; since I had sold my previous copy (One in the traditional Sega CD longbox) years before and had been wanting to pick up another copy if I found it cheap enough.

Passed on:
- Lunar: The Silver Star (Sega CD. Disc only): $18

Although I had been wanting this game for a while (I like what I've played of Lunar 2 on the PSX, and would like to play the original) and it's the first time I've seen the original Sega CD version in-person, I didn't want to pay $18 for a disc only copy. Besides, if I can find it at a reasonable price, I'd like a CIB copy of the PSX remake; with the cloth map and such)

I personally would have tried to get that computer, if it was anything like this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/IMSAI-8080-Computer-System-S100-S-100-/170619131901?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b9b157fd).

Honestly, I still wouldn't have bought it. That flea market's really not about buying for resale, it's more of a gathering of friends to support local amateur radio - just everyone is invited. I'm sure someone went home with a nice price on an IMSAI 8080 that they're going to treasure and use as a hobbyist for many years. When you hear "they sell this for (X amount) on eBay" at that flea market, most people are being accurate, and giving you a hefty deal.

In other news, the ASC works great!

Went to my first car boot sale of the year today. Wasn't worth waking up at 7am for, unless you had a sudden urge to buy 6 PS1s and 5 XBOX's. It's days like this where I wish I lived in the US...

When I got stuck over there with my family last Easter, there was this one game shop right near where we were staying that was half retro games. It was pretty much my dream shop... you could only go into that section with a shop assistant though and my family were waiting, so I couldn't really do some hardcore browsing. I still regret not properly looking through it all :(

Super Mario All-Stars(Wii) x 3 $60

Target was running a buy two get one free sale so I took the three copies that I got from Best Buy last month back and got three new ones at Target for the price of two. And considering that the market is currently flooded with these games, it was nice to get a little deal on them. Two of them are still going to be sold but I'll have to wait until they become less common.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC0340.jpg

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 limited edition(360) $19.98
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 limited edition(PS3) $19.98
Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition(360) $24.98
Halo: The Fall of Reach expanded edition $3.83

I've been waiting to get a copy of SWTFU2 and even had it in my Gamefly que so I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across two copies(one for each system) that were marked cheaper than the regular editions that were one aisle over for $39.99. DAOUE was found in another Target. I've been meaning to pick this up for awhile as well and since this one has all the dlc content for one low price the time was right. But this is also the third Bioware game I've bought new this gen for cheap and I have still yet to play either Mass Effect 1 or 2. Hopefully I can get around to this one.

I picked up the Fall of Reach on Amazon. I already have the normal version but it's one of my favorite books and I didn't mind paying $3.83 for a copy that contains an extra 25 pages. The only thing that sucked about SWTFU2 was that my 360 versions case was all torn up at the bottom. However....

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC0343.jpg

SW:TFU2(360) $19.98
SW:TFU2(PS3) $19.98
Halo Reach: Legendary edition(360) $37.48

I found two more copies and decided to snag them both so that I have a nice 360 copy for myself. The rest I'll sell or use for trade. And then there was Halo Reach legendary, the third copy I've bought and the cheapest so far. Yes I already have my own personal copy but who would pass up this massive beast for that price, especially when the normal version is still selling there for $49.99. Target has been very good to me this last week which helps balance out how sucky the yard sales and flea markets have been.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC0351.jpg

The Lucasarts Archieves Vol. 2: The Star Wars Collection(Pc) $3
X-Wing Collectors Cd(Pc) $3
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker(GC) $3.00
Mario Party 5(GC) $3.00
Metroid Prime(GC) $3.00
Resident Evil(N64) $3.00
Super Mario 64(N64) $3.00
Mario Kart 64(N64) $3.00
Super Smash Bros(N64) $3.00
Home Front limited edition bluetooth headset(PS3) $13

I went back to the Goodwill from last month where if there isn't a price on something they usually sell it for $3. It's their go-to price and none of these were marked so everything was $3 each. I'm not even into pc games but both the Star Wars box sets looked interesting. I doubt they are worth much though but I only spent $3 on them so I didn't lose much. Atleast I know all the N64 games are worth alittle money. The Home Front headset came from ebay. It's the cheapest I've ever seen a PS3 headset for despite having to bid on it. I've had my PS3 for almost a month but had yet to get a headset because all of the ones I've seen were atleast $30. And since I only play Marvel Vs Capcom 3 on PSN it wasn't worth spending that much money but I can definitely justify spending $13.

Dementium 2 and Touch Detective 2 1/2 for $14 plus Devilish for free. Apparently people really dislike Devilish, but I think it's pretty cool. Dementium is awesome and so is Touch Detective.

$3. The disc is scratched and the manual is a bit torn... but $3? Why not.

All of this was $8. This includes XBox and Gamecube GameSaves discs in cases, and that tin contained four GameShark 2 discs, a Gamecube memory card with a mini-USB port, a Max Memory 32 MB PS2 memory card, an Interact multipage Ps1 memory card, and a weird PS1 or PS2 memory card with the GameShark thing at the end.

This is normal for a stand without a monitor. The wight of the screen will balance the pressure so that if you move it up or down, it will stay there.

Funny you also come across Super Mario All-Stars at Target. That's where I got those 6 I've been holding onto. I'm considering selling them toward a 3DS.

Had you sold three of those SMAS last month(before the rerelease) you would have gotten pretty close to being able to afford a 3DS. But ever since the rerelease I keep finding copies everywhere. Best Buy, Target, Walmart and Toys R Us all still have them in stock near me. The only thing that would get them quickly bought up is if the Wii got another price drop. But until then this game will be an incredibly slow burner.

Wow, quick drop from the $55 my Target was charging for those SWTFU2s.

My Targets clearanced SWTFU2 limited editions from $55.98 to $39.98 to finally $19.98. You should check back to see if yours has any left because even if they aren't marked at that price they will probably ring up for $19.98.

Office Professional Edition 2003 - $2
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels stage play cast recording (with John Lithgow!) - $1
Simply Mad About The Mouse - $1
Vince Guaraldi Greatest Hits - $1

Due South (new) - $1
This isn't a retail version... it's an Amazon CDR on demand version. Kinda crappy, but what can ya do.

Re-Mission PC game: $4
Baldur's Gate II Throne of Baal and Shadows of Amn paperback novels: $1 for both

That Re-Mission game? It's weird. It's designed for kids and teens who're uh, struggling with cancer. Yes, really.

VA: Mojo Presents The Root Of The Sex Pistols
On The Floor At The Boutique mix CD
Ecstatica (NFR Bundle Version) - $5 for those
Microsoft Project Standard 2003 Education Version - $2
Steel Harbinger - $2

Fun fact about that Steel Harbinger game, I wasn't going to pick it up until I saw the enemies on the back. One of 'em was a purple kid wearing some weird goggles - the thing is, I REMEMBER that stupid enemy from a really old magazine and for some reason it just stuck in my head... Anyway the disc is mint, but the back of the manual has a few letters written on it with crayon. :(

I looked up that Prince album on eBay and didn't find it. So I looked it up on RateYourMusic and behold, it's a bootleg! It's got a kinda nasty scratch on one edge, but I'm still going to try to sell it, unless Prince's lawyers send the hounds after me or something.

Shame you only got the boxes for 7th Guest and Clue. As for the AC adapter, you want the Model 1602 which has the yellow tip on the part that plugs into the unit. I had to look it up to be sure but there used to be a time where I knew almost every part number for the 16-bit machines. :|

I've got a Sega/Sonic tie laying around here somewhere that I bought from a tie shop downtown when I was in college. I'll have to find it and snap pics of it to show how tacky-fabulous it is. :ass:

Found in a dumpster-bound PC. It's got a 533 Celeron, but also has a Slot 1 or whatever for a Pentium III. I do have a Pentium III 1.0ghz or so sitting around, but that might be overkill for whatever I'd do with this one. The bummer is that there's no AGP slot. Would have been a killer 3dfx rig. Any ideas of what I should do with it?

I'm continually amazed by the prices that OSs and 'productivity' type software fetches. I think you did fine... in the past month I sold a Works Suite '99 for $12.90 and a Works Suite aught five for $75, both including shipping/fees, and both used.

edit: forgot to mention that that '05 suite includes Picture It! or something like that, and looking at closed listings, I found that if it was advertised as "Picture It! w/ word and other crap" it was selling for 75 or so, and if advertised as "Works Suite '05" it sold for like 10 bucks. Something to look into for your item.

I had an interesting experience while at the local Game-X-Change earlier

While my sister and I where looking around, killing some time while waiting on her husband to get off work, I happen to look over at the PS2 games; with $17 in credit leftover from my trip to an out-of-town one last Saturday, hoping to maybe find something decent. First thing I noticed was a copy of Wild Arms: Alter Code F (Disc only), which I wanted to get years ago, although my interest in Wild Arms has pretty much faded away, with my main interests in RPGs as of late being Pokémon and Persona...when I looked up and saw something I was trying to find last weekend, so I snatched it up:

- Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 (PS2. Complete in very good condition): $32

This was a pleasant surprise; especially because it was cheaper than the disc only copy at the Gamestop a few blocks down. I admit, when I happened to find a copy right when I was thinking about it, I kept trying it while I was there; in hopes a copy of Stadium Events would appear.

GoodWill:Sega Classics/Sherlock Holmes only has Sega Classics. I guess we'll never know the mystery of where the other disk went...

I actually found that same set a few years back at Game-X-Change, but the Sega Classics disc was missing; which was the entire reason I was going to buy it.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for 1.99 (Used,CIB) - The case needs replacing, but other then that it's in good shape.

The Art of Fullmetal Alchemist for $8.00 (Used) - I had a bit of credit left over at my local bookstore, so I grabbed this. It's mostly art from the manga series, but it also has concept art from the first FMA game for the PS2.

My Neighbor Totoro DVD for $3.00 (Used) - This is actually the official Japanese R2 release. It has both the original Japanese language track, and the English dub released by Fox. Plus a bunch of bonus features (all in Japanese of course).

Castle of Cagliostro VHS for 99 cents (Used) - I picked this up because Hayao Miyazaki directed this film.

At the flea market, I bought a Corel CD called "Arcade Mania" which I assume has shareware games. The disc was in a Half-Life Adrenaline Pack Disc 1 case. I just checked the key and it's not activated so I might trade it or give it away somewhere.

Well I'm not the expert but apparently software is worth alot more than I had initially expected. I'm just curious if the majority of it needs a key code. I suppose this might not matter if the software is sealed(like mine is) unless the key code was on a seperate card, but when selling used software I wonder how often it might not be functionable to who you sell it to if it's missing some kind of activation card.

Flea Market

I should of stood home as the weather was brutal,
but I did get to run some errands and get some stuff-info I need for my New Racing Motorcycle..

My Dad found some of the coolest stuff today that maded the trip worthwhile.

The Flea Market was small but for it's limied amount of vendors there were alot of game sellers.

.I haven't seen a Coleco Vision or 2600 deck on a table in ages..

Prices to high though..

Filthy Colecovision system with a few bad label worn games $35.00.
.It looked like the whole thing sat in mudd.

..

I watched these three guys-teenagers overy thilled about finding a good section of NES games.
.all commons..the vendor was raping them on prices bad..

There is another vendor who had a load of gaming stuff, they have the place tied up as they sell so high that other vendors sell to them instead.
.I won't touch a thing they sell as that are just ridiculous for prices..

I'd say today would be a great day for people whom look to buy game stuff in hand... but ...
..plan to pay higher then ebay prices shipped to you..

NES Deck and Games etc...$25.00 after $40.00 haggle-the guy was packing to leave.

Halo Xbox $10.00

Patriots animated stand up..Sings and Dances to,Are you ready for some football..Son bought for mom..$10.00

Everytime I put it down to loom at other stuff someone asked if it was for sale.
