Soo anyways, I slept in today but decided to get up semi-early and go to the local flea market. I wasn't expecting to do pictures but I had some pretty awesome finds. Well, I went to the same booth were I got all those Criterion DVDs last week. I scoured the booth and found 3 MORE Criterion titles: The Rock, Ikiru, and the Royal Tenenbaums. The Rock only has disk 1 but I'm hoping a replacement is available. I also picked up The Flesh Eaters (A great looking B-movie with the tagline "There's something in the water, and it eats flesh! LOL) All 4 of those were $10. I'm a big fan of Jim Henson and I saw The Storyteller: Greek Myths and from the front cover I decided I had to have it at $3. I had no idea that it's a kind of valuable OOP DVD (http://www.amazon.com/Jim-Hensons-Storyteller-Greek-Myths/dp/B0002J4X2U/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1301763386&sr=8-7). Dragon Valor was $8 at a random booth and looked interesting, and Sonic Labyrinth was $2 at another.

http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac5/Ryaan2000/Finds40211-2.jpg
What? More? Yeah, I was at another booth that had a large amount of records. I pushed aside some records and lo and behold there were LASERDISCS! Woo! I got this big stack and asked for a lot price, and was given $20. It's 10 movies and the 2 Twilight Zone boxsets. I have an LD player and have been looking for some extra titles (Other than now these I just had the Star Wars boxset). Also, I saw a LD that is bothering the heck out of me. It was called "(Some guy's name)'s Jogging" by MCA, on Laserdisc. It was a "movie" of this famous guy (I assume) jogging. It looked horrible! The only thing was it was just the sleeve and no disc was inside. I looked up the title on the big online directory of Laserdiscs and apparently it's unknown to them. I guess I should have picked it up as it was so bizarre.

I'm kind of temping at an office in a nearby town for a fortnight that I rarely visit. I noticed that it is directly over a Cash Converters (modern day pawn shop basically) so I decided to check out their electronics section.

They actually had a pretty good selection going. Saw a CIB Gameboy Printer for £4.99 but passed. I wouldn't actually use it for anything. They also had an offer for an original Xbox, 2 Controllers and 3 games for £24.99. Not a bad deal. Sadly could only find one game that interested me so also passed.

However I did manage to pick up Super Monkey Ball (GC CIB) for £2.50 so that was nice. :)

NES games were $3 a piece

http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af310/RedWingsWay/DSC01061.jpg

Genesis games are complete and were $4 each
Lost Planet guide was $1.50
Bulletstorm was $40, I had $20 credit at Walmart for returning some stuff so I figured I'd just go ahead and pick this up.

http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af310/RedWingsWay/DSC01060.jpg

Dreamcast games were $2 each, I picked these up a little bit ago on a 50% off sale at goodwill, along with the Lost Planet guide.

Raiden was $5 at this place that sells video games for retarded prices, its in good condition and everything is there, not sure why it got priced for so much lower then everything else.

Those Xavix systems are cool. I should have got one while they still had them at Tuesday Morning.

I got:

Code Name: Viper: $1
B-17 Bomber: $0.95
Night Stalker: $2
Space Spartans: $1

Also got a Genesis for $3. I'm going to use it for parts, I need it to replace the controller ports on my Gemini.

Just one thing today, sorta:

Johnny Cash at San Quentin CD - $2

It was in the middle of a ton of crappy DVDs and a bunch of Dreamcast games.

The other thing I bought was a huge standing fan for $22. The weather's getting kinda crazy and I needed this, the only bad thing is that it's NOISY AS HELL.

Oh, and in digital distribution news, I got Crysis and Crysis Wars / Warhead on Steam in exchange for that Japanese copy of Dance Dance Revolution Extra Mix I had lying around and $5. Considering the game cost me $1, it wasn't a bad deal... until I had to pay $7.50 to ship it to Australia. Aaaaaaaaaaaaugh.

$5.00, not bad considering that it's still in working condition. The only flaw is the controller overlay... anybody have any idea where I can find a replacement?

Dreamcast is a japanese system picked up from DP member here at the end of last month for 30. So woohoo a JDM system that cheap, gotta love it. Mortal Kombat 2 was 8 bucks but needed for a tournamnet we're running and I just ate the price. Sonic was on sale for 11.75 or so from gamestop. Overall not a bad way to start the month.

Both my finds today are all digital:

X-Men Arcade(360) 200 microsoft points/$2.50---75% off
Halo Reach: Defiant Map pack 400 microsoft points/$5---50% off

As usual Microsoft was running XBLA sales and the one for April 1st was awesome. I got X-Men arcade for 75% off it's normal price and the Halo Reach map pack was another promotion they are running for XBL rewards members where you get 400 microsoft points back for purchasing the Defiant map pack. So that makes it 400 points instead of 800. They still have some other deals going until the 4th and I'm probably going to pick up one more game tonight.

You could reproduce it, I have that same Donkey Kong (buried in my storage somewhere). A user in here "mrbigreddog" produces custom labels. I am sure he can produce one for you though you will have to supply a blue print. You could use a digital camera, take a picture and create it in photoshop and send it to mrbigreddog with the dimensions. I got a reproduced Vectrex controller label and it's top stuff.

Did you mean Jim Fixx on Running? It's not worth that much, someone on eBay is selling it for $5. It also had a VHS print. You might think it was kinda weird, but Jim Fixx was a health guru that praised the fact that jogging helped him get back in shape... until he died of a massive heart attack. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Fixx#Death)

On 20 July 1984, Fixx died at the age of 52 of a fulminant heart attack, after his daily run, on Vermont Route 15 in Hardwick. The autopsy revealed that atherosclerosis had blocked one coronary artery 95%, a second 85%, and a third 70%. Although there were opponents of Fixx's beliefs who said this was evidence that running was harmful, medical opinion continued to uphold the link between exercise and longevity. In 1986, exercise physiologist Kenneth Cooper published an inventory of the risk factors that might have contributed to Fixx's death. Granted access to his medical records and autopsy, and after interviewing his friends and family, Cooper concluded that Fixx was genetically predisposed (his father died of a heart attack aged 43 and Fixx himself had a congenitally enlarged heart) and several lifestyle issues (Fixx was a heavy smoker prior to beginning running aged 36, he had a stressful occupation, he had undergone a second divorce, and his weight before he took up running had ballooned to 220lbs).

It's a new iteration of Game City 360. You're coming from the west side, right? Just get off at the Newtown exit and make a right at the first light. The store is in the plaza immediately to the left once you turn. It's a terrible location, btw. So, it's really close to the mall.

Turns out the kid I know that's part of the group that's running it is a former Game Crazy employee, and worked at the Milford Game City for a time. A good kid...his name is Chris is you make it out there, tell him Dustin sent you lol.

I actually work at a printing company, so getting a replacement printed would be no sweat; I was just hoping to find something that would be authentic. I guess as long as I'm replacing it, I could design an original label; I don't plan on selling it anyway.

I guess all I would need to find would be vector image of DK Jr. on that label...

Well, I did have a pretty good find yesterday:

- Bag of 23 N64 games (All loose an a bit dirty): $5

Noteworthy games included (The rest was sports games):
- Pokémon Stadium 2
- Super Smash Bros.
- Super Mario 64
- Mario Kart 64
- Glover
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Pokémon Stadium
- Paper Mario
- Command & Conquer
- Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
- Banjo-Tooie

I found this at a garage sale across the street from my sister's house; they did have it set aside for someone who was going to come back later to pick it up, but they decided to sell it to me because they where tired of waiting for those other people to come back and buy them.

Pokémon Stadium 2 was the main thing I was after in the bag (I've been wanting to get it for a while), and Glover actually surprised me in the fact that it's not as awful as I remember it (It's not that great, but not bad either). The rest was stuff my sister wanted for her collection (Especially that copy of Mario Kart; since her old copy was destroyed by an idiot roommate)

Went to some pawns and game stores this weekend and found some things. Garage sales were few and nothing good yet. I was pleased to find a decent copy of Vay w/ map (Sega CD) $12. Also p/u Super Mario All-Stars (Wii) Best Buy, used special edition Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3) and some other stuff. Link to pic http://www.flickr.com/photos/26951750@N00/5586812540/

I stopped at a GameXchange in Waxahachie, TX and bought an Atari 5200 replacement controller by WICO for $9.95, along with Defender II and Mogul Maniac for the Atari 2600 for $2.95 each and Steel Talons (complete) and Virtua Fighter 2 for the Genesis.

http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp222/StevePW/gxc.jpg

I went to Waxahachie around lunchtime and went to a little restaurant I've been to before called the 1879 Chisholm Grill that's been in the town square since the late 19th century... and it apparently burnt down, taking a few of the other buildings on the block with it. :( That sucks.

No pics since I feel lazy and probably sick. On the 1st I picked up an NES, 2 controllers, and ac adapter, along with a CIB Warcraft III and a USB Zip 250 drive all for $27.86 at a Goodwill.

Today I ran out to Unique and picked up some jewel case PC gaming stuff: Crusaders of Might and Magic, System Shock 2, and American McGee's Alice. Also got a new in box You Don't Know Jack v.2. It all set me back $9.21 and everything is in nearly perfect condition.

Seeing the Alice prices right now kind of makes me wish I'd saved the dozen or so I've sold over the last ~year.

p.s. Allyourblood... damn you and your PaRappa poster! (nice stuff)

I don't know if it truly qualifies as a find...but I was digging through some boxes that were headed up to the attic last night and found some games that I haven't seen in probably 7 years. Not much, yesterday I found a generic Target CD with Halloween music covers for $1, and a CD with piano covers of the Peanuts songs for $1.

Today I bought a set of Photoshop tutorial DVDs to resell on eBay for $10.

Nothing too special in this lot, but it was $60. And I got the bin. I love it when I get the bin.

Originally was $50 w/out the GB, but he didn't have change and I'd forgotten my cash from home so had to get $ from an ATM that only give 20s. So I grabbed the GB he had for sale, too. Highlights are SMW/All*s and SMKart. Wish there'd been a random 32x spiderman in all this ;)

Brothers and Systems: Transcontinental Weekend
John Williams conducts John Williams: The Star Wars Trilogy
Atlantic Rhythm and Blues 1947 - 1974 Volume 1
Hard Disk Cafe
New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble
$1 each

That Hard Disc Cafe CD is... special. It's some sort of handout given to Maxtor employees and features music by a band comprised of Maxtor employees. It's got some sort of handwritten note on a post-it. I didn't examine it closely, but it was... quite odd.

Jeff The Drunk Takes Manhattan
Earl Klugh - Life Stories
Duke Nukem Kill-A-Ton Collection disc 3
The Godfather Trilogy (Silva Screen)
$1 each

Fun fact: I found discs 1 and 2 of the Kill-A-Ton collection earlier this year. I left them behind. Goddamnit! Still, that CD contains one full Duke Nukem expansion (Duke It Out in DC) and two random mission packs (Duke Extreme, Duke! Zone II.)

Jeff The Drunk, well, it looked stupid. And I saw it at my local dollar store for a while. I figured I'd get it while I was at the flea market. :p

Groundhog Day soundtrack

$2

NEEEEEEEEED! *punch*
Plus that Deep Dish DVD was strange looking. I liked the uh, remixers a long time ago so I figured I'd pick it up to see what that was about.

Reel Horror (new)
No Blood No Tears (ADV, new)

$1 each

Reel Horror looks incredibly stupid. No Blood No Tears... eh. And I like Terry Moore's art so I picked it up to see what that's about.

Yes, I found two Duke Nukem expansions today. This one is apparently fairly rare. And new, to boot. o_O The bottom of the shrinkwrap is torn open but it's still new. Uh, whoopee.

Found Fortress at a local mom&pop I'd only frequented once before, several years ago. They still had a sealed DKC Player's Choice for 169.99. Thankfully, Fortress was 5 bucks new, I doubt I'll find it cheaper anywhere else. The delay by going unplanned to this game shop helped me land Twilight Princess at a Value Village later on for 4 dollars which had just been brought out.

I got a few things the first weekend of April finally after a long dry spell.

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=3487&stc=1&d=1302204689

Final Fantasy II (CIB)
Chrono Trigger (box, game, misc. inserts)
All the PSone games (CIB)

The price wasn’t like some of this months finds but I don’t think I did to bad at about $140 for the lot.

Most of this came from one guy and supposedly he will be bringing out some more games this weekend a few being Dragon Warrior I~IV CIB so I hope that pans out.

*Edit* Hmm, the pic is working on my end, I can’t get to any image hosting sites (work blocks them :/ and my internet is out at the house for now) I’ll try one more time with the file attach on the forums if it doesn’t work the list is:

Tengen Tetris (loose)
Resent Evil Survivor
Legend of Mana
Legend of Legaia
The Legend of Dragoon (Non-GH)

What? More? Yeah, I was at another booth that had a large amount of records. I pushed aside some records and lo and behold there were LASERDISCS! Woo!

Awesome Laserdiscs! I snagged the Deluxe CAV edition of Toy Story at a flea market for $10, came with 2 discs for the film and 2 discs of extras. Plus an art book and a 3D promo piece of art. The picture quality is amazing and looks eerily close to a DVD. Check out the LaserDisc Databas (http://www.lddb.com)e, a great site about LDs and their extras! :)

http://www.stayornay.com/geeky/star-wars-making.jpg

Picked up 'The Making of Star Wars (As Told by C-3PO & R2-D2), SP FX The Empire Strikes Back' (Wow that's a long title!) on LaserDisc last week. The disc has some very minor rot, it plays back pretty well but once and a while the audio sounds distorted or there is some noise on the screen. Still not bad, I've never seen this one before on VHS so it was nice to have it on LD. I watched it while backing it up to a DVD. Great stuff. Paid $35 shipped for it via eBay...

Following the Star Wars theme I got something quite large...

A Star Wars Trilogy Arcade off eBay for under $400, the monitor may need replacing or adjusting, but the game plays and I'm picking it up this weekend. I can't wait to tinker with it, I'm excited. :D The one in the photo isn't mine, mine's a bit beat up, thankfully the artwork on the side is intact.

New Line Cinema Music Sampler (6 new, 1 opened)
Gregg Bisonette - Siblings

$3 total.

... You're probably wondering why I picked up seven sets of CDs. Well, I bought one of them last week, but discs 1 and 3 had ripping issues in a few tracks. I remembered the sellers had a ton of these so I figured I'd buy one or two to get fixed CDs. Well, today was "$3 for anything you can stick in a plastic bag" day so I grabbed all of 'em. Once I manage to have a fully rippable, working set, I'll give away the other sets to people online. I guess.

That other CD? The mullet called out to me.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-04-07c.jpg

And this... um.

Well, one seller had a ton of random DVDs last week. Some were stuff you'd see in a dollar store, but others? One was an anti-Mormon documentary. Another was a documentary that refuted "Fahrenheit 9/11"... and other similar stuff that looks more like something a conspiracy theorist would release.

And then there was this. I wasn't paying attention to it, thinking it was something that compared Obama to Ronald Reagan, but then I flipped it and read the back cover.

Some black people hate to remember Ronald Reagan and the '80's. Frederick Little (Emanuel Ward) can't get either out of his head - because the 40th President owes his mama child support! Problem is, Reagan (Charlie Murphy) is dead. But when mysterious forces resurrect the Gipper, and he allies with Osama bin Laden (Paul Drechsler-Martell) to take over America, only Fred and his best friend Malcolm Douglass (Wilbert Berthaud) can stop him - as homeless superheroes BLACKMAN and RUSHON!

And the entire movie was uploaded to Youtube by the director two months ago. Um. Yeah. >_>

Actually picked up a few things today. Only a couple are gaming related and a couple are Kitsune type.

I got the Versus Books Resident Evil 3 Nemesis strategy guide and the GameStop exclusive Prima guide for The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time for the Game Cube.

One of the Atari joysticks that you hook up to the TV

A sealed copy of Centipede for the PC (Win 95/98),
A couple PC memory coolers,

A copy of iWork '05 for the Mac and a copy of Mac OS X Leopard version 10.5 family pack. I am not sure what is supposed to be in there, but I got the little box with just a disc in it.

All of that was about $10.
