Michael Jackson's Moonwalker Bootleg? what is this?

Just wondering what this is all about. Claims to be genuine lol but obviously doesn't look it. Plus if you were going to make a bootleg of the game why not include the word "Moonwalker" confused.

LOL Pretty weird. About all I can figure is that the bootleggers took it upon themselves to remove any trademarks, copyrights, brand names and logos. Would explain why they left "Michael Jackson's" but removed "Moonwalker™". Still doesn't make much sense, though. :confused:

Plus, quite a bit of effort went into this... whoever removed the Moonwalker title and the credits on the back actually bothered to replace or fix up (most) of the stars that were obscured by the text. @_@ Especially noticeable with the large star, toward the bottom. Compare the image in the auction with the real back cover, seen here:

It seems suspicious how often the seller notes that it is a "genuine Sega product", but take a look at his other auctions, like this one:

Looks to be a legit copy of Super Mario 64, the seller once again notes that it is a genuine product. Seems like that's just what he does. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt- he seems to be mistaken with Moonwalker, I don't think he's intentionally selling bootlegged products. :oops:

I have some carts with boxes like this. I believe it's a Chinese bootleg. They come in North American shaped carts and fit perfect in a Genesis. They play completely as if they were an original Japanese rom. The only difference is the Sega logo when booting up a cart is usually removed or altered. The box usually has no mention of Sega either.

The seller isn't creating these. These bootlegs have been around forever.

Yup, nothing but a cheap pirate cart. I've got a couple Genesis/Mega Drive pirate carts just like that one, with the copyright info removed from the labels and packaging. Definitely not worth what that guy is asking for of course.
