I just ordered the CIB Sweet Home, love your quality! If it is as good as it looks I would totally recommend your services.
Also people have been giving suggestions for games. If I can get an R-Type or Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2 (MSX versions) on NES or Genesis, I would buy them in a heart beat.
I don't have a issue with fan projects and games that never existed outside of that! Unlike common believe (who would have thought?) final fantasy 2 (just to stick with the example) is not a fan project and was released outside of japan in english, in many different versions, just pick your flavor, and if you are that diehard to play it on a nes then you better go and learn japanese, it's not that hard, just different, but that's the whole point of learning. 60$ buys you some great books to start out with.
The whole point of learning is not for something to be "hard" and "different" it's to gain knowledge or skills or something. People try to make learning easier all the time, books teaching you how to learn Japanese is something that makes learning easier.
"go learn Japanese" heh, awesome solution :P

"go learn Japanese" heh, awesome solution :PYeah, I've gotten into more spirited arguments than I'd like to lately, so I didn't want to call him on that, but since it's been brought up...yeah, wow! Learn Japanese? I mean, seriously? To play Final Fantasy II? :|

Thanks for the purchase! I plan on going into SNES and GENESIS very soon. Many people have been giving me great suggestions on this thread for genesis so it looks like that will be a major focus for me in the future.

If you could do those Phantasy Star text adventure games (especially if a few could be put on one cart), I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Does anyone know where to get the fan-translated repro FF 4,5 and 6 for Super Nintendo?

I'm real excited about this- and I have to agree, it is excellent on your part for distinguishing the real games from your own. Some people say your games are fake, nah, they ain't fake. They are unique.
I really do hope though that someone does make those games. I was just listening to the megadrive Zanzibar Breeze on youtube and that makes me want Metal Gear 2 on Genesis so bad...

I don't have anything to add other than your work is awesome. Too many people have no idea how difficult and expensive it is to do offset printing.

Thanks man. I hadn't realized there was such a demand for Genesis repros until now...

Well now you know don't ya?
One day there will be a way for common joes to develop their own ideas for EVERY console. It may be 100 years away, or maybe in just 5 years, but it will happen.
Awesome, looking forward to getting a few games!

I'm also considering getting the Outlands simply because the original Zelda is the only one I liked and the boxart is pretty badass.

For the text adventures you are probably a lot better off just playing the Sega CD versions: http://mijet.eludevisibility.org/Game%20no%20Kandzume/GameCan.html
For the cost of two blank CDs you can run them on your unmodified Sega CD with no repro required.

Thanks, That's my favorite box I've done.

Actually come to think of it, you got a lot of games there that look great. what i like most about these repros I see online is that when they are for sale, typically they are really high quality.
That's a good thing. I view it as a way to extend the life of these older consoles.

Just received the Sweet Home CIB, it's beautiful. I could have sworn I read somewhere that it takes you near a month to get these done, I got it in about two-and-a-half weeks.
The other hour I was watching the news, then I saw the deliver guy pull up to my house- I didn't think I ordered something. When I saw what it was, I said "SH**"
Thanks man.

I also received my copy of Sweet Home yesterday. Unlike Platinum, I did have a few issues.
Concerning the back of the box, most of the print is perfectly clear; however, the print of the text seems to gradually fade a bit as it heads toward the bottom. Even close up, it's difficult to read the text under the screenshots, and I do have 20/20 vision.
There's more bad print on the map. It's sharper than the print on the bottom back of the box, but it looks as though it has some sort of aliasing problem. This applies to the text in red and the text in white. Furthermore, I'm not sure what material the map was made of, but the edges fray a lot.
The print quality on the instruction manual is fine. I'd call it great actually. The pages appear to have been cut out by the hand, and it's fair to say that the size of the pages is not always consistent. My page 15/16 is smaller than the pages prior by approximately 1/4". The edge fraying problem of the map also returns here.
The majority, maybe all, of the instruction manual and map's content was copied (uncredited) from here: RPGClassics: Sweet Home (http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/nes/sweethome/). It doesn't appear to have been checked over either. Page 24 proudly tells you, "The game has different endings depending on which characters were alive when the dust settled. You can down-load savestates of each of the endings in the Download Sections." The last page of the manual is a "Death Certificate". It's intended to tell you what game was used as a donor cart for the reproduction you've purchased, but mine is completely blank.
The game itself is fine and works well, but I'd be remiss in not mentioning a few things more. The cart came out of the package dirty. It had very visible and obvious particles of something, it appeared to largely be small clumps of dust, all over the front and back of the cart. It took me about a minute to wipe it off, but I still find it startling that Timewalk didn't do this himself before packaging it. The Timewalk games sticker on the back is also placed unevenly.
On a final note concerning overall quality, the upper right edge of my box is separating from the cardboard around it. I honestly cannot say why, because it appeared fine for a few hours after I'd opened and played it.
Believe it or not, this is not intended to be a knock on Timewalk. I will state again that the game itself worked great, and the major issues all boil down to the quality of the various materials used for his reproduction cartridges. If those do improve, anyone interested in reproductions would do very well to buy from him.

I'm sorry you we're not happy with the repro. I can tell you I'm always working on improving the quality of these, and with each new release I get better at doing this and make improvements to the build.
Let me show you some pics of the new stuff to highlight this.

The box quality is always improving. The latest revisions are mostly foil, and are now resistant to moisture and finger prints, and are overall just fantastic.
This is a process to improve product without having access to a factory level equipment, and bulk discounts on materials. We all have different expectations for quality however, and I can say that I'm always working to improve on that. A lot of my earlier customers have followed the revisions of the games pretty closely and can attest to that.

That's great to hear. *gives a thumbs up* Your Seiken Densetsu 3/Secret of Mana 2 design looks very well done. Does your reproduction of the game feature the three-player hack, Tecnhi's graphical improvements hack, or the Secret of Mana 2 titlescreen?
Also, is there any chance you could let me know what game it was that became "killed' at the expense of creating my copy of Sweet Home?

Thanks! There is an option to purchase either 2 player or 3 player version on the site. The title screen has also been updated to the Secret of Mana 2 Title Screen.
Here is a video of me opening the first sealed copy.

Wow, awesome, thanks for that link!
Just found out today that Timewalk games has shut down. Did anyone get any of his CIB repros lately? My package came in today. I got a Sweet Home and Secret of Mana 2. Superb work. Hate to see the site has shut down :(
