I have the week off work and really wanted to go out hunting, but the thrifts haven't had jack squat. The only time I find stuff is at game stores, so I decided to go on an incredibly long road trip across northeast Texas. I hit six different GameXchange stores, a flea market, and two or three thrift stores. Didn't find anything worth the effort in most of those places, but a few GameXchange locations had stuff.
http://i414.photobucket.com/albums/pp222/StevePW/gamexchangetrip.jpg
The Atari games were $1.95 each (buy 3 get 1 free), the Radio Shack joystick ($4.95) is the kind that has a switch on the bottom so you can use it on Atari/Commodore consoles, MSX computers, Amstrad computers, and the Sega Master System. The Epyx 500XJ sticks have an Atari compatible plug and two buttons (with autofire switch), so I'm assuming they're for the SMS also (I think I might try and convert one for the Atari 7800). Power Stone 2 was $9.95, and the two other games? Dreamcast homebrews, Cool Herders and Maqiupai. $5.95 each.
Somebody on here mentioned that they would love to get a SNES Mini console. Pretty much every location of GameXchange I went to had at least two, and one or two NES toploaders. I love those stores, although the nearest ones to me tend not to have that much. I went down to the Waxahachie, TX location, then across to Palestine, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, up to Longview, and then over to Tyler. I spent about 13 hours on the road! I love a good road trip, but this one really ground me down. And I really went out of my way to hit the Lufkin store, even though the other time I've been there they didn't have anything, and this time... they still didn't have anything. I really hated driving out so far and not finding something. I don't think I'm going to make a trip like this for a long time, maybe ever again.

New egg has had the DS LE 360 on sale at lead twice recently, I bought it 12/9 for $14.99 shipped and it was on sale again on the 2nd.
spoofee.com tends to show some of the VG sales.

Deathsmiles LE is $15 at Newegg right now (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874203007&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=1312731&SID=). Not trying to be a downer, but thought I'd mention if you want to save the $5 or do the whole sealed thing. I picked it up and don't even own a 360.
Thanks fellas but mine was $20 factory sealed with $3 shipping. I'm not going to complain about that because the import stores around here that sell it still have it at $49.99. At $25 or cheaper it's a damn good deal although the faceplate is pretty useless now.
My finds for today :)

-Jeanne D'Arc ~ $12.99 (Brand New)
-Star Ocean: Second Evolution ~ $12.99 (Brand New)
-Donkey Kong Land 3 ~ .50 cents (Mint condition)
The two PSP games were found in the bargain bins at my local Kmart while stocking up on school supplies and the Game Boy game was found at a nearby goodwill store ^_^

While I was out today I hit a few thrifts, all I found was a couple of Pelican Xbox controllers (whoever stapled the baggie shut with the price tag attached put the staple through one of the cables, so I don't know yet if one of them still works) for $4.94, and an Entex Poker handheld (I now have three!) for $1.98.

Mine isn't so much a find as a gift. I met up with a guy that I used to work with and he had some stuff for me. Apparently for Christmas he received some duplicate gifts and stuff that he didn't need. One was the Sports Pack 8-in-1 for Wii Sports Resort. Just a basic set of controller covers, but free is free. That will be going to my stepson since I don't have a Wii. The other is the 'Double O' Edition of Goldeneye Reloaded for the PS3. This is the package that comes with the game, the gun, and the whole PlayStation Move package. He tried it out and preferred to play it with the regular controller. So now I have the whole package with the exception of the actual game. Time to start checking the flea markets for a cheap copy.

Got out yesterday and today to a few thrifts and a GS.
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds260.jpg
Yesterday was the 2600 + ac, SNES game (no manual, beat box), and NES for a total of $25.27 on a 25% off day.
Today was the 7.99 NES at Savers and The 3rd Birthday for 8.99. I was going to get knights in the nightmare new for 9.99, but they only had the one gutted copy so I passed.

Not bad at all! I get good money on Atari's if I throw in 20 or so games. The power cord is always the issue with those, and I see one there.
And I imagine you know as well as I it's fairly easy to come up with a good unofficial NES power cord.
Ugh, I need to get over this crud so I can get out there again :(

I may be out of spare atari carts for the time being, I'll have to check. I did buy a bunch of those f-type (or whatever they are called) connectors, so that part is all good, too. I actually have a pretty good pile of official NES adapters, but yeah, NES is the slut of game consoles, they'll do it with just about anything! (this is not an endorsement of sticking a 36V adapter into an NES)

Weird find today. Went to my local Goodwill and saw a bunch of SMS game boxes in the case up front by the cash registers, marked 2.99 each. Had the cashier pull them out, and that's all they were: boxes. No carts. The cashier and the supervisor started to pitch them, so I offered to take them or buy them. So I got the boxes for Afterburner, Rastan, Alien Syndrome, Vigilante, Thunder Blade, and Enduro Racer for 39 cents each. First four in the list also had the instructions and a couple had fold-out Sega posters.

I reckon you already know, but it's worth buying a lot of cheap Atari games to bundle up with the console.
Those RCA to coax adapters are the shit. Way less interference.

Congrats! I found a Myriad 6-in-1 out at Trader's Village a few years ago. They came out of the Houston area, there must be slightly more of them around Texas than other states. That was the only thing I've ever sold on eBay (my car's air conditioner had gone out, and I couldn't take another Texas summer without it) and I got $660 for it, sold to one of DP's members up in Canada who's name has slipped my mind.
I went to a flea market over in Quinlan, TX and didn't find any games but I did come back with a heap of handhelds. The boxed Blip was $10, the little film cartridge viewer was $15 (for a co-worker who's been looking for one lately), the Tomy Pocketeers Target Range was 75¢, and I paid $10 for the lot of handhelds with Comp IV, Split Second, Cycle Race, Sub Chase, and Slot Machine. The Learning With Leeper Atari XE/XL cart was $2.95 from the Console Game Exchange up in Greenville that's closing down and getting all its stock transferred to the Frisco location.

I also saw a UFO on the drive! And uncharacteristically for flying saucers, this one was photographed during the day and it held really still for me.

To me personally it doesn't get better than what my mother found this month.
http://i394.photobucket.com/albums/pp26/Xaromir/gb2-1.jpg
Those went missing 10 years ago or something like that, and the bottom 3 are games i actually got the same christmas i received my original GameBoy, to me that evening and those games been genesis, the very beginning of what i became. I think i don't have to tell you guys how important that is to me - those are my very first OWN video games. What happened to them? My mother put them away in one of her drawers, for what reason we do not know. She recently cleaned it out and found them neatly packed in a small cloth bag. I thought i never see them again, since so much of my stuff got stolen. Bet you can guess which one was my favorite. xD
Needles to say what followed...

Picked up a slim PS2 for $50. Killer 7 and Panzer Dragoon Orta were nice finds as well, and rather cheap. The games ended up being about $30 total.
A Myriad Six in One for $4. Wow, that probably will be the find of the year for a while...
I haven't posted a find in years, but this one was to good not to. Best thrift store fine in a long time.....Wild Arms 2 and Judge Dredd for the Playstation, both SEALED! $3.88 for both.

I basically had to drag myself out of bed Saturday morning and I was glad I did. I hopped over to the local flea market and started looking around. The regular electronics seller had some new NES games.
Anyways, I was browsing through his new stack of NES stuff and got Castlevania, Flintstones (the Dino & Hoppy one), and LITTLE SAMSON! Yeah, just randomly in a stack of NES games was Little freaking Samson. It's in good shape, too. The games were $4 a piece, and an excellent start to the year.
Sunday morning I went out again, but only found the group of 3 Pac-Man plushes for $5.

This is up there with Disc world 2 and Dragon warrior IV as my rarest find ( R Level 6 )
Also salvaged 5 N64 games from a vendor selling OUTSIDE ( he was the only one ) in 30 degree weather. Wouldn't you know it though? It was someonw I knew from another flea market and he gave me a great deal.

Haven't found anything in the wild recently, just a bunch of dirty overpriced consoles. Did see an original Xbox for $5, but it had wires coming out of the vent holes on the sides for some reason. After looking online at teardowns, I can't seem to place where the wires are from. Probably just a botched mod chip install that wasn't worth troubleshooting in the first place.

Those Tellitubbies.. They actualy get 10-12 each, so it's worth it for a buck. Moster Rancher 2 and Descent II were $2 each, and Outlaw Golf was a buck 25. All in all, ok. Back in the saddle :D

My first find of 2012 was Earthworm Jim for the Genesis. I've been trying to find one with the label not peeling. This one is just starting to peel ever so slightly. I wouldn't be mad if he hadn't told me there was not peeling or the fact that I pad $4 for it. Oh well, back to the search.

Bundled with a few games they are. I'm a sucker for kids, so I get that crap for nothing when I can. Every kids I know 6 or younger should have a Vsmile! If you have 6 or so games, you can get $20ish. Nothing to write home about.

Mobile post (glad tapatalk is back up) went adventuring to a goodwill I haven't been to before. kind of odd their pricing structures: everything was priced cheap EXCEPT for games. Passed up Battletoads NES cart only at $14.99. Lots of genesis sports games at $4-5, random $10 playstation games.
Had to leave a grandfather clock behind too, wouldn't fit in my car. :(

wallydawg, we must be hitting some of the same goodwills unless there are two that have an overpriced Battletoads and had a grandfather clock for sale today...I was there just as they were putting the clock out.
At a different goodwill, I picked up a 7800 bundle that included the system with power supply, three official 7800 joysticks, two 2600 joysticks plus a touch pad, and a total of 39 games (13 7800 games and 26 2600 games). While there's nothing RARE in the bundle, it wasn't all commons. Plus, I don't have a 7800 and have wanted one...
Total cost - $56. Probably should have passed, but 7800's rarely pop up around here and after hemming and hawing around for 10-15 minutes I decided to take the plunge and go for it.

I'm basically trying to figure out how to copy these CDs so I can submit them to the Internet Archive's Shareware collection. I managed to figure out a way to copy these disks without having to pay a lot of money for specialized software. Now I only need to find someone to help me test this.

Well, it's been ages and ages since I've posted in here!
There's a pawn shop that I used to go to often, and much of the early consoles and games that I got for my collection I got there, but lately they've had nothing and what they do have is overpriced. But when I went there to pick up a component video cable I saw they had SMS and Genesis games for about $2 each, something I don't see often around here.
$2 SMS Marksman Shooting & Trap Shooting
$2 SMS Bomber Raid
$4 SMS Double Dragon
$2 Genesis Judge Dredd
$2 Genesis Taz-Mania
$3 GG Jurassic Park
Feels nice to kick back and clean a bunch of cartridges again.

$6 total. And yes, I totally bought that one CD because of the manly stache.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-01-11b.jpg
This... was not expected. I found a bunch of boxes with VHS tapes and started going through them, and found all of these. FOR FIFTY CENTS EACH. They're boxed, but at least one has the manual inside. The guy must've thought they were VHS or Beta tapes. Also, I bought Robotech II The Sentinels and two episodes of the Ace Ventura cartoon show. Total was $8.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-01-11c.jpg
And then I was on my way out when I noticed this thing on a table at another booth. $5. No power supply, but hopefully it works. I want to dump the pirate original SNES games they have for rent at my local video place. 'Course, I need a freakin' SNES first...
Two sad points were two vendors telling me I missed out on a bunch of Nintendo stuff while I was buying all of this. And finding two high priced PC games missing important bits (LOTR Battle for Middle Earth II missing Disc 1 and the manual; Emperor Battle for Dune missing disc 3.) Oh well. :(

I don't even know where to start... Channel F carts are my faves of the bunch though. But damn!

Damn, I'd love to find a pile of Channel F games in the wild. That's a great find. I wish that was my haul (except those CDs, I have a discerning ear and a low upchuck threshold!), I'd finally have a reason to pull my Channel F out and play it.

Here's my first haul for the year. I got Donkey Kong 64 complete with the expansion pack, Mario Party 2 complete, Goldeneye 007, two Genesis controllers in the box, Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Metriod, and Earthworm Jim. I didn't really care that the controller were in the box. But they were still less than I could get them for loose on eBay. Also, one of them has the original receipt from Toys R' Us from 1994 for $14.99. I thought that was kind of cool. I got Goldeneye as a backup. The rest were games that I didn't have. Donkey Kong 64 was a great deal, but Mario Party 2 was less than I can get just the cart anywhere else. Earthworm Jim is one I've been trying to get a good copy with a nice label. All three I have are peeling and it's really starting to irk me. Guess this one will be another backup. Good thing Genesis carts are cheaper than dirt.

Bundled with a few games they are. I'm a sucker for kids, so I get that crap for nothing when I can. Every kids I know 6 or younger should have a Vsmile! If you have 6 or so games, you can get $20ish. Nothing to write home about.
Not around my area you can't. I took one twice to the flea market and couldn't get $5 so I just donated it back in December. No games but it had all the necessary cables and crap.

I sell my extras on Ebay. With games, they do ok, but again, meh. If I didn't like the tykes (and have 3 of my own and 9 nieces and nephews), I wouldn't mess with em.

Wow! Sweet find! First off, I LOVE Half Price Books because you never know what you'll find there. Second, finding GG stuff boxed like that is really rare, especially around here unless you are in a collectors store and they are $10+ each.
I've been reduced to an occasional lurker here in the last month or so, between Christmas and work I don't have any time for game hunting much less posting. I did find a couple last week though:
Kane and Lynch 2 (Xbox 360) - $5.48 at Target (with an "Online Item" sticker on it)
Dead or Alive Paradise (PSP) - $8.98 at Best Buy
most of the PSP stuff is on "Clearance" at BB, but the prices aren't that great. This one was normally $20 so I grabbed the last one.

Bongos $3. The pads on top were scuffed up a bit but it cleaned up real nice with rubbing alcohol. Couldn't find the game, had to piece the bongos to the box myself with everything strewn across the store. Box rough in a couple spots but it's nice overall.

First off... Out Of The Closet? What an odd name for a thrift store, although depending upon what type of neighborhood it's in, could be appropriate. Lots of leather chaps there and ballgowns in XXL men's sizes. ROFL
Anyhoo, I also picked up a copy of Chrono Cross today, although the case on mine is in bad shape. Disc I is a bit scratched up, but Disc II is pristine, which tells me how far the previous owner got in the game. That was $4.94. I later picked up a boxed (no instructions) copy of Bomber Raid for the SMS for 69¢, and the hardest game to find for the Game Wave system, Veggie Tales: Veg-Out! Family Tournament. That was 99¢.

Been Quite awhile since I've had anything noteworthy to post.
Got some good stuff at an auction house. None where up for auction... no complaints.
First I got a Colecovision Adam for the price of my mother reaching into a dumpster. Thanks mom!
No power Cord but it looks alright. I feel like I'll have to put this up for sale or trade.
http://99.100.83.158:404/Picture/hosted%20photos/P1050317%20%281%29.JPG
Finally got my goal of getting a boxed NES. It has the complete system in good condition and box filler. Only missing the game and power pad. I have two power pads and the game so I'm going to say for five bucks I can't complain at all.
http://99.100.83.158:404/Picture/hosted%20photos/P1050318%20%281%29.JPG
Now the Part I love. At that same auction house sitting on a cart where some of the best ghetto blaster speakers I've ever seen for 75$. I couldn't help myself I had to pick them up. The first time I use them... Duke Nukem Forever, Star Wars, and the Big Bang Theory. Yea I know the last one didn't fit, but sounded amazing.
