Happy New Year to all!

I know it may be early for some, but since it's 12pm here in PR (AST time zone), it's officially Jan 1. So let the January finds begin!

Nothing wow to start of the new year, but I did get a few items in the mail:

-Duke Nukem Forever Balls of Steel Edition (PS3)
-Catherine Limited Edition (PS3)
-Epic Mickey Collector's Edition (Wii)
-uDraw tablet (PS3)
-Back to the Future (PS3)
-Knights in the Knightmare (PSP)
-Over the Hedge: Hammy Goes Nuts! (DS)
-Dungeon Seige III (PS3)

Nothing classic, but I'm still happy with the purchases. And now that I will have time off from work, I can catch up on some good gaming goodness.

Goody.

Hope to get a few computer parts to create an HTPC, mainly an Athlon II X3 455, GA-M68MT-S2, and 8GB DDR3 RAM. Since this will be a simple "browsing" computer, I don't need a fancy video card...was opting for a GIGABYTE GV-R645SL-1GI Radeon HD 6450 1GB.

I'm hoping to connect this to my 32" LCD to watch some 1080p HD movies I've downloaded!

Technically it's only 10:00pm here, but I might as well post in the new thread. I stopped off at the Shreveport GameXchange store on the way through town, and picked up Cosmic Commuter, Cosmic Corridor, Sir Lancelot, and Gangster Alley (which turns out I already have) loose for the Atari 2600, $1.95 each. And Crime Wave for the Saturn for $3.95. And since they had a "buy *blank* used games and get one free" sale, one of the Atari games was gratis.

For you N64 collector's you know this isn't an easy one to come by.

I was happy with what I gave for it. I traded 4 PS2 games that i bought at a pawn shop for $1.99 each for it.

I've never heard of that game. What is the usual asking price? Was it a low production run? One of the last titles?

low print run. Last complete one went for $88 on ebay beginning of december and it was in bad shape. I had sold a decent CIB one for $100 before.

Technically a few of these were from yesterday:

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1066.jpg

Sonic $6

I'm not sure if this picture does Sonic justice. He's atleast three feet tall(probably closer to four) and the size of a small child, if small children had blue skin and heads the size of elephants. I put him in my passenger seat(seatbelt and all) to take him home and he fit in it like a real person would. I knew when I saw him at Goodwill that I really didn't have room for him but for $6 it was hard to turn him down. He's like one of those freakishly large stuff dolls you win as a prize at a carnival, fair or amusement park.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1068.jpg

Duke Nukem Forever strategy guide 1 cent
Crysis 2 strategy guide x2 two cents
Assassin's Creed Lineage dvd $5
Donkey Kong cart racing toy 50 cents
Vampire Hunter D Vol. 4 Manga 50 cents
Xbox Japanese Tokyo Game Show 2002 dvd $20
Spartacus: Blood And Sand season 1 dvd $10
The Gunstringer(360) $14.99

The Vampire Hunter D manga and Donkey Kong toy were from Goodwill. I don't even really like Donkey Kong but it's more toys for my shelves. I snagged the AC dvd from Gamestop. I already have the individual shorts downloaded to my 360 so now I'll be able to clear up that space and the dvd includes a few extras.

The Japanese Xbox dvd will be added to my growing amount of Xbox import games and dvds that I can't play. Actually I can play the dvds because I have a dvd region converter for my PS2 and can also get one for my Xbox. Sparticus and Gunstringer were both from Target. Gunstringer comes with a copy of Fruit Ninja but I already won that game in a contest from Gamepro so I don't need it. And while the price was good, it looks like the copies of this game that included the first dlc were only the launch copies. Thats disappointing but I can't really complain since I still got a good deal on it.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1073.jpg

Marvel Ultimate Alliance strategy guide $3
Wireless Mic(360) $9.97
Pokemon Diamond(Ds) $5
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time(N64) $5
Hal Wrestling(GB) $2.50
Double Dragon(GB) $2.50

All the games were from a flea market. I'm keeping the two Gameboy games and the rest are for sale. I've been waiting to find a copy of Hal Wrestling without using ebay and finally I found one. The strategy guide was from an import store and even though it wasn't a penny like 90% of my strategy guide finds it's worth enough that I could put $3 towards it. And now that I finally have a wireless mic I can finally play Def Jam Rapstar. I kept using the wired mic as an excuse to not play it. Now I get to break it down and lay some phat tracks......whatever that means.

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here so I thought I would really get things started by posting this here. I picked this all up from someone in a local ad today. Paid $165 for it all. Both consoles are in beautiful shape and include all original hookups and power cables. The SNES came with three controllers, the NES came with two and a gray zapper. I thin I did pretty well.

That's not a bad price to play if you're starting into being a nes/snes collector, especially if you're going for full sets. If you're thinking re-sell I'm not seeing anything (unless I'm missing something) that'd really make it worthwhile with that lot at that price. So it depends on your goal.

I think you're being a little too harsh. You could easily make 3 NES system lots w/ games out of that, @ $100 each, that is if you had the extra systems.

Went out today w/ a buddy of mine and it looked like it might turn into a bust. We tried to go to the Tacoma swapmeet but it was closed. We hit up a ton of Goodwills without finding too much stuff. He picked up some electronics thing (no idea what it does, we thought it was a small printer at first, then a laminator, and I forget what it turned out to be) that goes for around $150. He also found a few odds and ends for himself, as well as a Chuck E Cheese framed poster for $7 for a buddy of ours.

The big finds tho: I got a boxed Pink Justifier gun with a blue gun thrown in for $19 (sold the last one I had on Amazon for $100, still have the CIB Lethal Enforcers w/ blue gun tho). I also picked up a big box study guide (?) or home tutor thing (?) called Mathematics Laboratory 2a for $7 that seems to be going for a few hundred (there's some completed listings on Ebay for the English one at $100+, the only ones on Amazon are all over $300). We'll see what that sells for. My buddy picked up a tool cabinet thing (red, on wheels, locks). Not sure what he paid but they're worth $150+ apparently.

I actually do have extra systems. Those two consoles you see there are spares. I have at least two of all the consoles in my collection right now and more controllers than anyone could ever possibly need.

supposedly UFO super bowling is one of the higher priced N64 games and they are supposedly fairly rare to find. So with that being said finding a sealed one is maybe not Stadium Events epic. But pretty damn impressive.

I had a jumbo Sonic like that, as well as a jumbo Knuckles and a jumbo Tails. Tails was friggin huge, taller than Sonic with feet twice as big, a larger head, and two huge tails in the back too. The Tails one wouldn't even fit in the passenger seat of our car or the trunk, it took up the whole back seat. After getting it home and seeing how much space they took up I sold all three of them and haven't regretted it. I'll never buy jumbo ones again, never.

That's exactly why I picked it up for $2.50. I knew it was a big steal. It was my only purchase in a whole day of pawn shop / goodwill hunting, but completely worth it. I was rather amazed he had that price for it since he was trying to sell loose original PlayStations for $60 each.

Surely, it's the best Final Fight on Super Nintendo and even if it is decent it's little repetitive and in my opinion boring. Beat'em ups are often best with multiplayer and I found that this held true with FF3. Given the lack of variety and enemy types I found after beating it a couple times that was it for me.

Still, great price for a pretty uncommon game and a good find all the same.. Should you sell it you'll at least get a 12x return.

I think alot of the third games in series for the Nes and Snes are worth more money because most of them were either overlooked, released in relatively low numbers or released at the tail end of a systems life. Ninja Gaiden III, Contra Force, Final Fight 3 and Streets of Rage 3 all immediately come to mind but I'm sure there are more examples out there.

Well, okay. It's Al Jolson. And I know, the times were different and all that. Still, I never expected to see an album with him in that ghastly makeup... ever.

The other item is a two CD set called "Death Match". The first CD contains a truckload of Doom WAD files, some editors, and I think some trainers. I haven't checked out the second CD yet but I wouldn't be surprised if it had more Doom stuff, or maybe Duke Nukem.

The flea market sucked Sunday (bad day to go but I had to bring some stuff to my uncle). I did make $65 though, which surprised me considering the flea market was the least crowded I've ever experienced. You know it's a slow day when the only gaming item you spot is a loose PS1, which the person wants $10 for.

Resident Evil (jewel case version) was $3. The back inlay is a bit warped but the game is serviceable.

The games? Well they seems to be Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros. 2 on cart. There's this seller that has told me about Famicom carts for weeks... and he finally brought them last week. Unfortunately for me, I didn't go to the flea market last week so I missed out on a ton of stuff. The guy still had a bunch of decent games, but I couldn't tell if some were originals or not. They seemed legit, but some had a sticker with Chinese writing on it, possibly an importer's label. The games included Gegege No Kitaro, Super Dodge Ball, Raid on Bungeling Bay, Spy Vs Spy, Rygar (Argos No Senshi), Wild Gunman, and a few carts that were definitely bootlegs (Tantou Corporetion?)... Anyway, those were $2 each. I told him I'd come back later once I did my rounds, and when I did so, a guy was already looking at the games. He took -everything- I left behind. I just said, "I'm okay with that. I took the Mario games." :P

Now to fish out my NES and a converter so I can try them out.

Best Buy and Gamestop but mostly Best Buy. Every now and then I'll hit up a yard sale or import store thats selling them for a dollar or less but I grab as many as I can for a penny and then start selling them for $5 each, which is typically $15 less for what they sell for in stores new in the same condition. RPG strategy guides are an absolute must as they always sell like they are a new form of crack. If you ever see any of them for $3 or less grab them while you can.

My Goodwill had something similiar last month. They had 5 factory sealed copies of Gran Turismo 3 and 8 factory sealed copies of Yanya Caballista all for the PS2. After doing alittle homework on them I decided to not pick any of them up as they didn't even seem worth the $3 price they were asking. Today they had a factory sealed Madden game for PS1 but again it wasn't really worth it for me to pick up.

Would go nice with my star destroyer that I've never had a chance to build. Stoopid kids wanting to actually play with my legos. They're 'models' damnit!

My son would be absolutely shocked if he knew about all the lego trains and city stuff my wife has and lego SW stuff I have in the basement. He is fully capable of putting any of it together (pretty good for age 5), but he likes to modify stuff once he builds it the right way, and it all gets jumbled with the regular legos. Not that it isn't great that he's creative with legos, but I don't need my Milleneum Falcon scrapped for parts.

I'm gonna start hitting the thrifts and Goodwill Outlets again next week. They should be getting in their "last of the year" crop in, as people donated before New Years on get the tax write-off. Stuff will be getting good.

This is too much! My son's only 3, so Duplos cut the mustard still. Cause daddy don't show him Legos proper ;)
And man, I'm right there with you watching the stuff get used as toys (like they were intended, but still!). My nephew came over a couple months back, and he found my Ebay room. Great fun ensued. Hey guys, how about some BLACKFACE?

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-01-03.jpg

Ah Al Jolson. His musical career is a tricky one. The reason you see his image pop up so much with blackface in tact is because that was his monicker of sorts. He was a minstrel performer and made many of his hits "Swanee" and "My Mamee" famous through blackface performances. I actually have a few of his records that have similar images. I do agree that it is surprising to see it blatantly shown on a cd, but the recent re-release of The Jazz Singer is not much better, because deep down inside we all know what is going on behind that shadow:

Went to GS yesterday trying to use some gift money. Didn't find anything I really wanted, so I ended up getting the following for $1-2 each (depending on the current exchange rate):

Battle of the Bands/New (Wii)
Madworld (Wii)
Perfect Dark Zero (360)
Vampire Night (PS2)

The movies were just random pickups from another store.

V/A: Lost in Translation
Blake Babies: Sunburn
Sammy Serious: Last Stop O.P Hotel
V/A: Tower Records 1999 Sampler: No Music No Life!
BUGJuice spring / summer 1999 sampler

All $1 each. Those last three were found in a box filled to the brim with promotional versions of CDs and singles. There wasn't much of anything else in there that interested me. No, the good stuff was in other places...

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-01-04b.jpg

Now to fish out my NES and a converter so I can try them out.

if the famicom cart is the hacked doki doki i'd be interested if it's for sale sir.

One of the Secret of Mana carts I pulled from a pawn shop in Arkansas. The other one and all the other games including a CIB Mario Party for N64 I got from a thrift store in Hutchinson, Kansas called "Mom's Attic" I left alot of good stuff there I already had in my collection.

'Just' have the Star Destroyer. I don't think the Super one existed when I got it, and it was my wife that got it for me shortly before we had kid #1. They were on sale new for half off at the lego store.

And so I'm a little on topic, a few days ago I found a 3ds Lego Pirates at Goodwill for 6.99. Target return. Had to take it by GS to test it, but it works fine.

I've been on a find-posting hiatus for quite a while. That changes today!

I sold three PS2 network adapters on eBay and bought the Shadows soundtrack back in September. It has Yamaoka's signature on the front! Warioware came from 2nd & Charles for $8 back in October.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7149/6642168807_25d066fff6_z.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65366943@N02/6642168807/)

My only November find. I drove an hour to the Cullman flea, and found this loose cart at a regular's booth. The family who owned it has a little game shop in the same town. Their stuff is always hideously over-priced, especially anything with Mario on the front. I asked the price on this one, totally expecting $100 or so. Nope! The owner wanted $7. I left a happy camper that day! :)

December was a bigger month. Drill Dozer was factory sealed for $5.77 with shipping from eBay, and Aria of Sorrow was $17.50-flat with free shipping from a different seller. (It's used, but the seal is still covering the box. I left it there.) I stopped by Gamestop to grab the Aliens versus Predator 360 game for my brother, only to spot Kuon sitting on the counter with other games that had just been traded in. I bought the (unpictured) AVP game, got Kuon for $4.99, and God of War for free. Neither have their manuals. Rayman 3 was $2.99 from Zone-1 in Helena.

First game purchase of 2012! I took a $5-off coupon to Gamestop and got this game for $4.46 with tax. Not a bad start.

Today sucked; the local thrift store isn't even close to getting the last second donations on the floor yet. Did pick up a Linksys router for $2.50 and a copy of Flight Simulator X (Deluxe Edition) for $3.50. Made the trip worthwhile at least.

I was going to go to some others but they close early today. Will go tomorrow and hope I can find some good stuff.

Very jealous of that Kuon, i've been trying to find one at gamestop forever! good find. It's also funny that you got 3rd birthday because I was that close to picking it up at gamestop the other day. Instead I got Half Minute Hero because ive heard good things about it, and for no reason whatsoever i bought Rengoku II (the back made it look decent enough). I also got a copy of Life-Line for my PS2 horror collection, and I FINALLY got a complete black label copy of FFVII thanks to a trade with buzz_n64. I had a copy but it was missing the manual and some discs were greatest hits. Thanks buzz_n64!

I actually have some Lego finds of my own (as well as video games). A few days ago I picked up the Red Cargo Train from TRU. The box was smashed in on one side but wasn't opened. It had been marked down twice as damaged product and then it was 20% off all clearance so it ended up being about $55.00 out the door. Inside everything was fine outside of one of the bags being broken open but everything was in the box.

A couple days later I was poking around craigslist and saw a posting for the Red Passenger Train for $70.00. The listing said that their son built it, played with it for a couple days and then it went back in the box. I quickly checked it out and figured for the parts and another motor / receiver / battery box / remote setup I couldn't go wrong. It only came with the booklet for the powered locomotive and it's missing some of the stickers but that's no big deal. Upon inspection the set was missing eight or so pieces, stuff that would come off during normal play for a kid, and a couple pieces atop the dummy locomotive rear bogie they probably missed when building it. It was also missing two of the minifigs. Since a couple of the parts are fairly unique I went online to Lego support and filled out a missing parts ticket for them. The parts shipped out yesterday and I wasn't even charged (I would have paid for the parts if they could be ordered from pick a brick but they're too custom). So for about $125 I got two complete Lego train sets with power functions.

Horrible dub of the first half of Sailor Moon R on VHS - $0.50 a tape... and yes, this is the worst English dubbed Sailor Moon anything. With the exception of Susan Roman as Sailor Jupiter / Makoto Kino, as usual.

Blade Runner for the PC - $5.00.

N64 - Star Wars Rogue Squadron
N64 - WaveRace 64
GB - Boxxle

$10.00 total for the three of those.

Death Smiles: Limited Edition(360) $20
Uncharted Dual Pack(PS3) x2 $16.66 each
Hoshigami: Ruing Blue Earth(PS1) $3
Legend of Dragoon(PS1) $3

I was trying to use my gift card to make UFC: Personal Trainer $15 but it works in such a way that it discounts everything individually instead of just stating "minus $15" at the end. Anyway, PT is going to be my version of a home gym for awhile and I need to start using my kinect more as well. I couldn't pass on Lois & Clark since those were the only two seasons I needed and they are rarely ever discounted anywhere despite that series being more than a decade old.

I was surprised that no one else bid on that Death Smiles game since it ended on Sunday night. I almost bought a copy at an import store last week for the regular $49.99 it sells for. Patience worked in my favor this time. But that box is much smaller than I thought. It's a wonder anything can fit in there. I grabbed two of the Uncharted bundles because I had to drive all over to find them so I decided to make it worth my while. I really only needed Uncharted 1 but for that price it's hard to turn Uncharted 2 down. The PS1 games were from Goodwill and while they atleast have all their disc, unfortunately they are both missing their manuals. Hopefully that doesn't hurt their resale value too much.

Ghost Rider....er, Writer book 60 cents
Windows Live One Care free
Secret Codes For Consoles & Handhelds 2007 50 cents
Playboy January/February issue:)
The Crow: The Lazarus Heart novel 60 cents
Splinter Cell: Check Mate novel 50 cents
Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Angel: Monster Island novel 60 cents
Splinter Cell: Operation Barracuda novel 60 cents
The Skull Queen Figure $3

I've been looking for that Playboy issue for two weeks but every Barnes & Noble, 7-11 and Royal Farm store within 50 miles(atleast) has been sold out. So I remembered this very quaint low key store called the News Center that mostly sells greeting cards but also sells newspapers and magazines. This place is so far under the radar that I didn't even know they were still open. I haven't been there in atleast 10 years and I'm surprised they managed to survive the recession. But lo and behold they had several copies and informed me they have had them in for weeks. So much for Barnes & Noble being ahead of the game.

All the other books were bought from either Goodwill or a thrift store I visit. SC: Operation Barracuda was the last one in the series I needed for a complete set. I was originally just selling them but I think now I'm going to go and read them all first. The Windows Live One Care had no disc inside of it. This was at a Goodwill in the city and this store hasn't had the forsight to take disc like that out first. Whats even more sad/pathetic is that whoever stole the disc can't even use it because the activation key is on the inside of the case that I now own. When I went up to the register and told the women the disc was gone she just sighed and threw it in the trash. I asked her if she minded if I kept it in case I ever found a disc for it and she said ok. I definitely wouldn't have minded paying $10 for it but there will always be people who don't want to pay anything.

I only picked up the Skull Queen figure because she looks alot like the Locust Queen from the Gears of War games. Well that and the fact that she was only $3. McFarlane does such an awesome job with their action figure designs.

Lindsey Lohan used to be seriously hot. I don't understand the desire to see her naked now but a good ... five years ago? Has it been longer? and I'd have been first in line for that Playboy. Doesn't make any sense these days since she's looking more and more like a tired crack whore (wonder why?), and considering she doesn't even look like herself in those photos it's doubly useless.
