I've heard and read about this series on several occasions, and being a big RPG fan figured why not try to get a hold of some of the games. So my question to you guys...has anyone played any of them? Are they any good? what systems are they on? (i tried wikipedia but its blacked out due to the internet censorship fiasco), and is it recommended to play them in order or are they like Final Fantasy style games and non-related?

Haven't played it yet but I have Growlanser Generations. It was Working Designs' last hoorah before they died, it comes in a big box set with a bunch of crap. As far as I know, only 2 releases have been seen in the states... Generations(PS2) and Heritage of War(PS2). Both come in nice box sets with goodies. Atlus actually just announced that they will be localizing Wayfarer of Time for PSP so you can look forward to that too. I think there were more that were only released on Japan's shores but i'm unsure.

I have Growlancer Genrations on the PS2. I've played several hours of the game, but for the most part, the gameplay feels pretty dated. It's pretty much a strategy RPG where you try to take advantage of ranged and close combat. It's an alright game, but nothing to get over excited about.

The one that'll be coming out on PSP is 4, and I believe the previous releases accounted for 2, 3, and 5. I think the original PS1 game is still Japan-exclusive, and I have no idea if there's been a 6 or so on. Just do a little research and you'll have your answers.
