Go ahead... let's settle this debate once and for all.

Please don't vote unless you've tried at least 4 versions (~half) so we can get an accurate/widespread view of the whole series. Thanks.

Constantly repeating the FF topics over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over..

oh man, this obsessive sh!t is getting oh so very tedious

No one forced you to click on this topic except for yourself.

No one forced you to reply except for yourself.

Perhaps you should turn your critical eye away from others and towards... yourself.

True noone forced me, but I'm sick of seeing you pull this crap day after day, you need to get a life and stop constantly trying to stir up the same sh!t over and over again when it's already been discussed (recently, multiple times, in detail) and people have given their opinions on the subject numerous times, however because you didn't like that others had and related opinions contrary to your own you continue to drag this up again and again and probably will continue to do so as long as your obsessive, control freak attitude persists.

You need to grow up and let it go, it's been discussed numerous times and as such people's opinions on the subject have been given many times, all you're doing now is stirring up sh!t again just like you did the other day (and so many times before).

FF III is still my favorite. There was something to like in each of them, I even liked FF I though it's just SO dated. FF III has a kind of timeless quality when I look back at it. It was the first video game that truly moved me with its story, and was fun to play and watch the story unfold from start to finish.

Yep. FF III overall.

Nvrmore:I think I'll just start ignoring you. I'm tired of debate.

DIGITALPRESS: Just curious... Was that FF3 Super NES? Or FF3 NES from Japan? Also, it looks like you didn't vote?

@theaveng: FF III (US version). I never had the patience to play Japanese RPG's and haven't had the time recently to go through the older ones that have been languange modified.

PS please don't turn this into another flame war thread.

It's funny. I love RPG's, text adventures, overhead adventures, etc. But I never got into ANY of the FF series. I tried the originals on the NES back when (FFI and II) but stopped after an hour or two on each. I later tried the PS versions (don't ask which ones, for I don't remember) and thought it was still very linear "run up, hit the monster, drop back, swig a potion"-type nonsense.

Don't worry, I didn't vote. But I must be the only person on this planet who is completely weary of FF-this and FF-that. Everytime a new one comes out, the gaming public has a collective RPG orgasm. I'm not being antagonistic. But I just don't "get it." As for what I *did* like, I enjoyed the Shining Force games for the Genesis/Sega CD and the Zeldas (of course) And a ton of stuff for the C64.

Of course, I'm also the only 2600 enthusiast who has gone on record as saying he doesn't like Yar's Revenge. Small children throw rocks at me for that opinion too.

And he's back to the "innocent victim" act.

If you're going to keep trying to stir sh!t up that you've unnecessarily dragged up X times before (again because of your self-opinionated attitude), don't whine when someone picks up on it and points it out.

@theaveng sorry, i cant vote here, you left off Mystic Quest althought im sure that wouldnt get any votes, but more importantly you left off FFTactics, which would have stole my vote:P

You're not alone Snider, believe me. Of course, I think RPGs as a whole are way overrated, but the Final Fantasy series specifically strikes me as one who's value is overinflated.

FFTactics is a different genre (strategy rpg) from the other FFs. And, I wanted to include FF: Mystic Quest but there wasn't any slots left open.

BTW, anyone here every play the Final Fantasy Silicon Graphics version? It was destined for N64 but never got completed. Anyway, is the incomplete ROM floating around somewhere?

Come to think of it, there WAS a FF I enjoyed. It was for the Gameboy. Weren't there about 3 or 4 of these? Final Fantasy Adventure was one. What were the others?

FF VII just because...

And please for the love of god let this be the last FF topic you bring up for at least one month. You're like a broken record...

I chose FF9 mainly becuase I have only played 7, 8 & 9. I didn't even finish 8 it sucked so bad. I just couldn't handle Squall's wussy, self absorbed character any longer.

FF7 is on the PC? How come I'm always the last to know! I loved that game and although I never played the previous ones that's still my answer.

*goes to vote*

Wah? I've seen sources stating that those famous CGI screenshots have nothing to do with the N64 whatsoever, and that people just assumed the screenshots had something to do with a new N64 FF game.

Anyway, for the record, the three Game Boy Final Fantasy Legend games were originally the SaGa trilogy in Japan. Final Fantasy Adventure was Seiken Denetsu 1 (or Secret of Mana Zero, if you prefer). Hence, they're not technically Final Fantasy games.

Oh, and FF8 was released on the PC, as well. While FF7 was re-released not too long ago, FF8 PC still fetches a reasonably good price on eBay.

For the love of GOD, how many FF topics do I have to dig through to read some good messages!?

There was only 1 FF game for the NES.. enough said..

This is a retro gaming board.. go play some retrogames.. and be happy.

Why: "So we can get an accurate/widespread view of the *whole* series."

I find it odd that FF7 won. When we did the "pre-ps2" poll, the results were:
TITLE [VOTES]
1 FF 6 (ps1/FF3 snes) [6]
2 FF 4 (ps1/FF2 snes) [3]
3 FF 9 (ps1) [2]
4 FF 7 (ps1) [1]
FF 8 (ps1) [1]

Why did the opinion of the board change so radically between these two polls? I suspect this poll has been vote-spammed.

i chose ff 7 because it had the singlemost memorable moment ever in a video game for me personally, the death of aeris. the story was so very touching and even tho it did get a little confusing there, it still beats the other four or five ff games i've played. and i play rpg's for their stories. i want to remember the game and not the constant mashing of buttons and patterns i used to kill monsters.

Yes that's right. People on this board have nothing better to do than make up fake names to vote in your polls. Look, people like FF VII and you don't. Why can't you get over that? Just because you don't like something doesn't mean the rest of world has to agree with you. People chose FF VII because IT'S A GOOD GAME regardless of what you might think.

Why don't you go make another poll (and another and another and another) until you get the results you want. Give it a rest already!

"Please don't vote unless you've tried at least 4 versions."

And what's this all about? Now you're trying to limit the number of people who can vote? Why not add:

"Please don't vote if you liked FF VII"

Then you might get what you're looking for. Yeesh!
