North & South is a pretty awesome port of the Atari ST/Amiga game, and the NES port is probably one of the few PC-NES ports that I actually enjoy. One thing I noticed, though, is that when selecting the characters, they swapped their anthems. You get "Dixie" when you select the Union, and "Yankee Doodle" when you select the Confederates... Is this some sort of in-joke in Les Tuniques Bleus or did they just mess up?

It's always so awesome taking out an entire battalion of soldiers with one group of musket-men, but then I remember that they have to go up against a full army. Any other games like this, on NES or otherwise that you enjoy?

I'm a fan of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition series.

My favorite is Romance of the Three Kingdoms 4 Wall of Fire for the PSX. I stopped liking the series as soon as they made the gameplay extremely slow paced on Romance of the Three Kingdoms 7 and then continued on in that direction.

Used to play the crap out of Romance of the Three Kingdoms II on the SNES. Only ever finished one game though, since it was a rental.

I purchased a NES copy of North & South quite a few years ago, but have yet to make the time to play it. AFAIK the port was done by Kemco in Japan so it is very likely that the switched music was a mistake.

Incidentally I have a couple of Japanese magazines which feature little mentions and screenshots of the game.
