Stopped by a Target on the way to work this morning to do a return and ended up spending way too much in the clearance section:
DeBlob 2 (DS) - $5.98
Aliens vs. Predator (PS3) - $9.98
Prince of Persia (PS3) - $9.98
Sniper (Xbox 360) - $9.98
Star Wars - Complete Saga (Blu-Ray) - $70.01 (was $99.99)
The Star Wars set was marked as a "Repackaged" item, so I talked to the electronics manager and he told me that it had been somehow torn open in the store - that it was never purchased or returned. I took it home and it's brand new! I had refused to buy this set at full price because of the "improvements" that Lucas made, but for 30% off, I'll take it.
Other Clearance games I passed on included:
Madden 11 (psp)
MLB 11 (PSP)
Some MMA game (Xbox 360) $9.98
Fallout New Vegas (Xbox 360) $9.98
DC Universe Online (PS3) - $30.98
about 10 Wii games ranging from $5.98 to $9.98

I found a video editing suite called "Honestech Easy Video Editor 3.0" for $2. It's brand new. I basically bought it because it lets people make their own DVD menus, and for $2, why not?

Nice find on the Star Wars blurays.
I found a game, but not of the video variety today. Found the Knight Rider board game, complete and in very good shape at goodwill today. Might actually be worth flipping based on completed ebay listings, so not too shabby.

L.A. Noire shirt $2.98
007 Bloodstone(360) $14.98
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow(360) $14.98
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit(360) $14.98
Pocket Prowrestling import(GBC) $6
Mario Teaches Typing 2(Pc) $3
The Third Birthday(PSP) $5.98
UFC: Undisputed 2010(PSP) $5.98
With the exception of the GBC and Pc game the rest were Target clearances. I've been watching some of these games for awhile waiting for them to get low enough for me to snatch them up. I've wanted to check out the 007 game for awhile but I heard it wasn't that good so I waited for the inevitable price drops. I'm not sure rather I'm going to keep the Psp games or not but those were pretty good prices for them. I picked up the import wrestling game online and found the Mario Pc game at Goodwill mixed in with the music cds. It's a nice oddity.

Star Wars: Racer Revenge(PS2) $3
Resident Evil 2(PS1) $3
Resident Evil 3(PS1) $3
Resident Evil 4(PS2) $3
Resident Evil: Zero Hour novel 50 cents
World of Warcraft: Tides of Darkness novel 50 cents
Killzone 3 strategy guide 1 cent
Little Big Planet 2 strategy guide 1 cent
It must have been Resident Evil day at Goodwill since I found three games and a novel there. The two penny guides had been pulled from my main Best Buy but they just kept them in the back for the last two months. So I asked one of the media reps if I could buy them and he let me. Racer Revenge is the only good Star Wars console exclusive the PS2 got last gen. The majority of them went to the Xbox and the Gamecube got the Rogue Squadron series. But since I was missing this I probably would have picked it up even if it wasn't good.
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1200.jpg
Spyro The Dragon plush $3
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit limited edition(360) $14.98
Aliens Vs. Predator(PS3) $9.98
The Vampire Diaries: The Struggle novel $1.50
Underworld: Evolution novel 50 cents
Angel: Sanctuary novel 50 cents
I picked these up during todays travels. I guess I was in the mood to read some Vampire books. Picked the Spyro plush up at Goodwill then searched the bins to see if I could find any more video game related ones but came up short. Atleast my room of doom is becoming more and more defined. Now that I found the limited edition of NFS I'm going to take the regular edition back. Even though I already know the answer to this is "no", does anyone have a 360 copy of Aliens V. Predator that they would trade for the PS3 one?
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1201.jpg
Call of Duty: Black Ops strategy guide x2 one cent each
Fable III strategy guide x2 one cent each
Halo Reach strategy guide x2 one cent each
Mass Effect 2(360) $5
Bulletstorm: Epic edition(360) $5
Rage(360) $5
One of my Best Buys always pulls the penny guides when the list comes up but then starts putting them back on the floor a few at a time. Those three titles dropped sometime last year. But now everytime I go back to this store once a month or so they always have new penny guides that weren't there the last time I was there. And I of course take them all since they never have more than a few in total on the shelf:) Those three video games were also from Best Buy. Best Buy has the greatest rewards program around, especially if you are a gamers club member as well(both are free to join). The deals just keep on coming. I only really needed Bulletstorm and I didn't even like the Rage demo I played last year. But $5 for new games this generation is extremely hard to pass up.

Nothing super exciting today. Nabbed a few SNES-era Nintendo Power mags for $0.50 apiece. Passed on pretty much every game I saw. Tons of PS2 and Xbox games, some older 360 sports titles, a few CIB Genesis games (bummed that Quackshot was missing the cartridge, tho at $5 I likely wouldn't have bought it anyway), and a few PS1 and Dreamcast games mixed in w/ music cds.
Also picked up an Omron digital blood pressure monitor thinking it might be worth something, but looks like it's around $10, so not worth my time. I really need a smart phone. XD Also got a few coffee cups and a can opener for like $0.50 apiece. And the two Perler bead pieces I bought on Ebay came in today. A glow-in-the-dark Mario mushroom and a black mage. Total was around $5 shipped for the pair, so not bad.

Haven't been out for a few weeks, so I finally had some time yesterday to do some shopping:
http://www.evg2000.com/finds/20120303/f1.jpg
$3 each for the N64 games
50 cents for the JS, probably modify it to work with one of the consolized neo geos I'm working on
$25 for the slam dunk, probably paid to much, but first time I've seen it boxed in the wild
$6 for the game gear and game. Haven't see a yellow game gear apparently from Japan, not sure how rare or valuable it is.
Also picked up some new, but unboxed saturn 6ft extension cables, not sure if I will sell some or what I will do with them.

Decided to hit up the flea market today and what a disappointment. So much overpriced sun faded crap video games and it seems like the number of booths selling just games has exploded. Those are the worst when it comes to prices because they think everything they have is gold. I kind of forced myself to buy this stuff listed so I wouldnt feel like I wasted my time.
Sonic the Hedgehog-GG-$2
Paperboy-GG-$2
Meet the Robinsons-PS2-$3
and the hits keep on coming!

I'm about a week behind on posting my big "find" but it'll do:
2/25/12:
A couple friends of mine had a relative give them two used 320gb PS3 (Model: CECH-2501B) units. One was the standard model and the other was some bundle with the Playstation Move controller. The standard model was not working at all and my friends' relative had no idea what was wrong with it. I was told that if they could get the console working I could have their PS2. I went by last Saturday to visit and I asked about the PS3. They said since they've been so busy they haven't had a chance to look at it. I offered to take a crack at it. I started researching online what the problem could possibly be. I managed to get the console in safe mode (which was more than what was accomplished before) and got it to start formatting the hard drive. It kept giving errors that it could not access the hard drive, so I offered to take it home. They told me instead of the PS2 would I rather have the PS3 as they rather like the PS2 still. I of course agreed. (Who wouldn't want a free console that retails for about 300 bucks?) I hooked the hard drive to a drive reader for the computer and found out the drive was in fact dead. I went to Newegg, ordered a replacement 320gb drive, and went for expedited shipping (because I'm impatient like that!) I popped in the drive, formatted it, installed the system software, and I was in business! (The only catch is that my friend did not give me the controller because they only have the two controllers and they play a lot of multiplayer games.)
Which brings me to my other finds (from Newegg):
2/29/12 (Newegg):
Sony New Owner's Kit (HDMI cable, controller, and USB cable) $44.99
Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection (PS3) $19.99
Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year (PS3) $19.99
You Don't Know Jack (PS3) $19.99
Super Street Fighter IV (PS3) $19.99
Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3) $19.99
I realize I could probably get the games for the same price either at Gamestop or Walmart, but I could not pass up free shipping and games that I would be the first to open. The New Owner's Kit was about $25 cheaper than Gamestop's price! Speaking of Gamestop....
3/2/12 (From Gamestop):
Flingsmash (Wii - Preowned) $9.99
Motor Storm (PS3 - Not For Resale Edition - Preowned) $4.99
Little Big Planet (PS3 - Game of the Year - Preowned) $17.99
I was impressed by Motor Storm when it first came out and could not pass up on a price that cheap. Little Big Planet is just too awesome looking to pass up. I am definitely pleased by the game and its originality. Flingsmash was always so quirky and I thought I would have fun with it. I already had a black motion plus controller and the motion plus attachment (x2) so I didn't see the need to buy a $50 bundle. Seeing it for $9.99 without the bundle was a no-brainer for me.
3/4/12 (From eBay):
PS3 Memory Card Adapter (PS3) $14.49 (free shipping)
This is the only way I am going to be able to transfer my saves from the memory card on my PS1 to the hard drive on my PS3.

Went on a quick vacation and hit up some thrifts while I was gone. The only things that I found gaming related were at the first thrift that I went to. They had some sealed, big box, PC games. They wanted $5 each for them and not knowing anything about them, I passed. The only ones that I remember off the top of my head were a couple of the later Police Quest games. IIRC the games were all Windows 95 class games.
Other than that, all I picked up were a half dozen hardback Nancy Drew books for $.78 each. Couldn't pass them up at that price since I have a granddaughter who will probably one day read them.
I finally found some games at a flea market that I was planning to stop at while I was gone. This place had been good to me in the past. This was the place that I got the loose Dragon Warrior IV cart for $1. Today was pathetic. Granted it was early in the year and the weather was bad, but there was no excuse for these prices. One guy had an NES toaster set-up for $65. He had 2 loose carts also. One was some soccer game for $4 and the other was the Uber R@RE SMB/Duck Hunt for the bargain price of $25!! He also had some N64 carts, but the only one that I remember was Zelda Ocarina for $20.
I finally bought something gaming related at a Goodwill about 15 miles from my house. It is a copy of the Collector's Edition of the strategy guide for Fallout:New Vegas. It is shrink wrapped. I have no idea whether it came from the factory that way or if the original store wrapped it to keep people from reading it in the store. It was priced at $2.62 so I figured that I couldn't go too wrong.

A lot of Limited Edition guides are shrinked wrapped. Final Fantasy XII was like that.

Stopped back by the same target as my earlier post and they had discounted most of the $9.98 games to $5.98 so I picked up:
Fallout New Vegas (360) - $5.98
Madden 11 (psp) - $5.98
They still had plenty of Prince of Persia but most everything else was gone from last week.

It may not be much of a find truly, but I'm so happy to have it.
I think it's the best Tales artwork we've gotten this side of the pond since Destiny.

I also managed to snag Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny for $30, this is only important because it's the US version, since being in Canada meant that it had no pictures on the back and was covered in horrid ugly box destroying french.

Well, the one in the US that I go to put it aside for me the moment that they took it down. (the manager there is so awesome to me)
They told me though that marketing changed the week earlier. So you may want to check it out and make sure that you didn't miss the boat on that.

Stopped by a couple thrifts this morning:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/7487DDA6-orig.jpg
vsmile games were in 2 baggies for 2.99 ea, Metroid was 2.99, popper was 2.99. Masquerade was 2.99 at a different thrift. I guess it was a 2.99 kinda day! (though at the first they were all 3.99 - 25%). The vsmile games need some cleaning... is that dried sticky jelly? But my kids play with them and didn't have most of these.
Wow, it has been over a month since I posted any finds! I've had some meager ones, though:
-GG Dragon Crystal - 3.16
-2 fat PS2s that don't read discs - ~15 each. Already sold them for $90 shipped to the same guy someone here posted about: He said to use as little packaging as possible, doesn't care if they get a little damaged, the packaging just gets in his way. I still don't get how these are worth so much, but whatever.
-Pelican PL2000 wireless Xbox controller - * - this seems like a pretty good controller and works great.
-Genesis RoadRash II in Cardboard box - *
-SNES Tetris/Dr. Mario CIB + All*, SMW, and one other manual - *
-Another Popper for selling as a coffee roaster - *
--->* all these added up to about $22
Had a picture of these, could have sworn I posted these, but can't find it:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/4A2B658F-orig.jpg
Thought I had scored big with those DDS tapes since a very quick look showed similar ones going for near 100 each, but small differences matter. Worth the gamble anyway. The kind of uncommon PS1 games I'd never heard of were pretty cheap. Then there is the import N64 game Brave Spirits something or other. Paid $23.43 for all in this pic.

The JVC X'Eye I picked up on eBay for $45 (untested) came in today. Genesis part works fine but the system isn't detecting when a CD is placed in the console. Something I should be able to fix. Still, at $45, that's not a bad deal. I can get it fixed and probably double my money with a few games added in.
I would keep it for myself but it's in cosmetically worse condition than I thought. Oh well.

I made an impulse purchase this morning. I walked into a little video rental shop, and went browsing through their used rental games. I found a copy of Star Ocean: the Last Hope International for $12.99. I took it up the cashier and discovered the disc and manual are mint, like they have never been rented.
Now, here's the catch, I don't own a PS3 yet. But I figured that buying SO4 in advance might be a wise idea, since most RPGs tend to hold or increase their value over time. Although, looking at the average current prices for this game, I only saved around 10 - 15 bucks. Oh well, if I don't like the game, at least I only spent a little money on it.
Looks like it's time to start saving for a PS3!

I found BUPKIS today. Nada. Zilch. We had a horrible wind storm locally last night so it must've scared the vendors away.
I ended up buying some brand new Zip 100 discs at the local flea market when I came back home. Two three packs, two loose but sealed ones, and a bonus SuperDisk one. 30 pesos (about $2.40 USD.)

Eh, the single SuperDisk uh, disk won't sell for that much. I'll just throw it in with the ZIP disks.
And that office... it depends on the version. I'm not getting a lot of money off of those student editions anymore.

There are some yard sales starting in my area but I won't start traveling to the larger cities until April or May. It's just not worthwhile for me to travel 30-45 miles one way for 5-10 yard sales (or less).
I've got to hit up a couple of thrift stores tomorrow but I never find much there. Most of my recent finds have been things on eBay.

Nice finds, that End of Evangelion DVD is worth about $40. I found one for myself a few weeks ago and was surprised when I looked it up, I'm planning on keeping it but it's nice to know I lucked out with it. I just have to find a copy of Death and Rebirth and I'll have the whole set for the original series.

Yeah I guess someone donated all their anime. There was some other Evangelion and some other popular Anime titles. I didn't have time or the lack of self respect to look them all up on my mom's iPhone. I saw the one was worth a lot so I was happy and bought it.

Although, looking at the average current prices for this game, I only saved around 10 - 15 bucks. Oh well, if I don't like the game, at least I only spent a little money on it.
Looks like it's time to start saving for a PS3!
Even though it is the worst in the series, you won't be disappointed if you are a sci-fi rpg fan.

Despite the very mild weather over here on the east coast thru out the winter most yard sales haven't had any video game items. I'm hoping that changes now that Spring has finally arrived.

I can't find much of anything anymore. Not even music! It's that bad!
I did buy another VHS deck, a JVC S3912U S-VHS. It was five bucks. Finding a VHS deck with native S-Video capabilities is very rare so I figured, why not. Also, the other bigass VHS I bought a few months back doesn't like some tapes (it squeaks) so a backup wouldn't hurt.

They seem to sell for $40-$80 eBay. Weird. I didn't find the remote, but I've got my Logitech one so no biggie.

Here's a combination of finds from the end of February and a couple days ago:
http://inverteddungeon.com/triacesuperfan/storage/finds030812.jpg
More bulking up of my NES collection with $2.50 games. Nothing too spectacular, but with my collection, I already have a large amount of the cheap, common quality games, so I've actually been leaving behind some pretty good games just because I have them already and they aren't worth reselling. This time I nabbed:
Tom & Jerry (w/ manual and sleeve)
Silk Worm (w/ manual and sleeve)
Airwolf (w/ sleeve)
The Legend of Kage (w/ sleeve)
Elevator Action
Total Recall
Wrath of the Black Manta
Adventures of DinoRiki
Eternal Darkness for GameCube was $5.
The other stuff was from a couple days ago. The disc-based games were $2.99, and the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance guide was $0.99. I already have the Japanese version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 (which I think is loose) and I have a loose disc of Bushido Blade, but I figured I'd upgrade. The loose Bushido Blade will make decent fodder the next time I need to sell an extra PS1, at least. I already have Spyro the Dragon too, but PS1 Spyro games usually pull in a little cash so I figured I'd flip it. The Complete Ultima VII for PC is for my fiance. I'm always proud of myself when I manage to find a Nintendo Power guide since they aren't easy to spot on a shelf like Prima and BradyGames guides, plus I really like Nintendo's guides. I actually wouldn't mind having a complete set of them someday.

Yesterday I came across the European Mega Drive version of Super Monaco GP and the 3DO version of Twisted (Demo - Not For Resale) because they were both oddities I hadn't seen before. And today I came across the Genesis/Sega CD combo for $5 (no cables), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (PC) for 99¢ (for my nephew), the Coleco Amaze-A-Tron (no box but it seems to be complete) for $1.99, and the Atari 2600jr with all the stuff around it (two power supplies!) for $29.99. It was higher than I would normally pay for an Atari console, but I really wanted those blue joysticks. I'd seen ads for them back in the day but never saw one in person until now, so I splurged.

Went to the flea market today to unload my PSone (no need for it since I have a PS3 now). I got a measly $5 for it, but didn't care because they're not worth much anyway and I didn't want to have to go through the effort of unloading it on eBay or Craigslist or even here. (I know...too lazy to get the camera and take pictures.)
I did find that one of my favorite vendors moved and had an improved collection. He is one of those vendors that likes to learn about what stuff is really worth and price accordingly. We were talking video games and just having a nice conversation when Ridge Racer in the original clear longbox caught my eye. I also noticed Spider-Man (1991) for the Genesis and X-Men for the Genesis. He told me to make him an offer. He threw in a NES Advantage that I was eying. I got the whole lot for $20. The Genesis games had the box and game. I am now hunting down the manuals. Already found the manual for X-Men. It looks like Spider-Man will be a little trickier. I'll keep looking though!

This was the first yardsale I hit this year. I didn't want to go when I woke up at 7 am because it was really cold. It felt like winter weather and was only 33 degrees when I left. A mere two days earlier it had gotten up to 73 but not today. And I got there alittle early so I had to wait around as they were bringing stuff out. I bought what was probably the best of what was available. I passed on alot of other games, including more Nes, Atari and Dreamcast games. The Dreamcast games were all disc only and I even passed on a copy of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 but it was scratched as hell and looked to have two small cracks in it. As far as condition some of the games I picked up were better than others but it took me around an hour to clean all the contacts and carts. Theres nothing of particular note from what I bought but it was an ok start to yardsale season.

The Dollhouse season 2 dvd $5
Alice: Madness Returns(360) $11.98
EA Sports: MMA(360) $5.98
And I of course had to hit up Target again. They had a few of the same games from last time but clearanced at much cheaper prices. I definitely wish I would have held off buying Alice for $20 a few months ago. The strategy guides were from Best Buy and the XBL card was free because the Microsoft rep loves me:)

On Thursday I had my first good CL find for a long time:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds264.jpg
The SNES and games were $30 (asking price). Hookups and 2 controllers aren't in the picture. The guy said it is touchy if you bump it, but I don't notice anything out of the ordinary.
Then on the way home from that we stopped at the Library and there is a crummy thrift next door that I never find stuff at. They actually had some games for once: a few N64 games I passed on, and the NES game for 2.99. More than I would normally ever pay, but I have a bunch of systems to unload, and selling them without SMB seems wrong. The INTV DK was 50 cents. The router was 2.99. And at another thrift a few days ago I found more printer ink, some Canon 8s that my FiL uses in some high-end printers. Also found an unused 4-pack of zip 250 disks.

So earlier this week I see a Craigslist ad for 8 Atari Jaguar Games + System + Extra Controller (all in boxes/mint). Guy wanted $225 [list price] but I offered him $100, this being due to the fact I had another MINT Atari Jaguar pick up in mid-February for $135 which got me 11 games and System [all mint in boxes]. Which in itself is shocking because in over a decade of collecting I have only seen a Atari Jaguar ONCE. See picture below for $135 lot:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/Docman217/Weekend%20Finds/IMAG0706.jpg
So the guy accepts the offer quickly and we soon discover there is no way we can meet up (this is Monday) that day; and day by day things get delayed until Friday when I have a second to skip out of work and we meet up. I discover we are about 30minutes from each other and agree to meet half way in a parking lot.
Something was irking me, because his Atari Jaguar lot in the picture was so mint. So as I am about to get off the phone with him I say for the hell of it "Do you have any other game stuff?" *he laughs* "YES! I have tons!"
So I think "GREAT! I stumbled across a collector NEVERMIND!" but the more we talked I realized no, this si just an old school gamer who is looking to get rid of stuff. The stuff he was rattling off was unbelievable (no, seriously I didn't believe him...I thought he was going to kill me in a parking lot) and he asks "does any of this interest you?"...
I say..."Bring it all, I am sure we can make a deal." And oh boy did we make a deal. Here is the list, followed by pictures:
