TheGift73 writes in with this link about IE 9 coming to an Xbox 360 near you. "Microsoft is currently testing a modified version of Internet Explorer 9 on its Xbox 360 console, according to our sources. The Xbox 360 currently includes Bing voice search, but it's limited to media results. Microsoft's new Internet Explorer browser for Xbox will expand on this functionality to open up a full browser for the console. We are told that the browser will let Xbox users surf all parts of the web straight from their living rooms."http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png (http://twitter.com/home?status=Xbox+360+Kinect+Said+To+Add+Internet+E xplorer+Browsing%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FJiucON)h ttp://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png (http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgames.slashdot.org%2Fsto ry%2F12%2F05%2F11%2F0311254%2Fxbox-360-kinect-said-to-add-internet-explorer-browsing%3Futm_source%3Dslashdot%26utm_medium%3Dfa cebook)http://www.gstatic.com/images/icons/gplus-16.png (http://plus.google.com/share?url=http://games.slashdot.org/story/12/05/11/0311254/xbox-360-kinect-said-to-add-internet-explorer-browsing?utm_source=slashdot&utm_medium=googleplus)

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft announced a version of Windows for the 360. But that and the browser really aren't needed, atleast not for me. I can easily surf my laptap online while also playing on XBL.

or on your iphone/android/ipad/android based tablet.

i mean thats what i do if i get stumped in a game and instead of letting it frustrate me i just look up on youtube via the devices i just listed and find out how someone else got past that part.

Exactly what the 360 needs, a convenient way for IE to be an enabler for its inevitable compromise.

I was under the impression that's exactly why a browser wasn't included in the first place. Seems a little strange to toss it in now, years after everybody stopped whining about it.
