Nothing much on Saturday. Stopped into a newly opened GS and found a minty Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter for DS @ $7. I plan to go looking around tomorrow. There is a local mom n' pop store that is holding some kind of retro game convention this weekend that I want to check out. Would have gone today but I wanted to see Wreck-It Ralph. :)

Starting the month out right. First up a few things I found at the local Goodwill...

http://imageshack.us/a/img842/8576/goodwill3.jpg

MechWarrior 2 (PC) $3 - Neat find, because I never had a copy growing up the 90s, but always wanted to play it. Now is the time! Bit of a pain in the ass to get working on modern machines though.
MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries (PC) $3 - Factory Sealed!
Microsoft SideWinder Gamepad (PC) $2 - Protip: When buying PC controlers be sure you have the proper hook-ups to actually use it. I was so disapointed to get this home and find out my PC lacks a 'Game Port'. And because these old controlers are analog and not digital you can't just by a USB adapter. Too bad, I really liked the feel of it.
Naruto: Clash of Ninja (GCN) $4
Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 (GCN) $4 - I know nothing about these games (other then they are fighting games) and my intrest in Naruto is pretty much nonexistent. But I figured they might be worth grabbing for a few bucks.

Next up, my (probably last for the year) trip to the Mansfield Drive-In Flea Market bore some serious fruit...

http://imageshack.us/a/img442/1736/mansfielddrivein5.jpg

Star Fox (SNES) $5 - Been wanting a copy of this for a while. Pretty much every one I found was over priced though. This one wasn't too over priced so I got it.
Secret of Evermore (SNES) $13 - Had a price tag of $25 but the guy was willing to make a deal. Another game I've been wanting to own for ages, finally at the right price.
???! (SNES) $3 - Can you guess what this is? Can you? It was so strange, I was walking by this guy's table and it looked like it was covered in junk, but laying on top was this poor butchered game cart. Discolored, dirty, every label peeled off... it was in sorry shape. But, a sliver of the front label was still visible, just a tiny bit of background imagery showing the statue of liberty. And because the human mind is a funny thing I immediately realized what I was looking at. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES IV: TURTLES IN TIME! And it works!
Sega Saturn $15 - Another huge score for me this week of another console I wanted to get my hands on. Came in a ratty old box that appears that the previous owner literally cut holes into so they could play it in the box (hello overheating/fire hazard). I'm on the fence about just tossing the box since its so dirty and cut up, what do you think? Didn't come with any controllers, or AV cable. So I'll have to sort that out. Seems to use the same AV as the Genesis though. Oh and it had a free copy of Virtual Cop 2 inside. So if you're keeping score at home, I'm now 3 out of 3 on disc based consoles I've bought with free games inside.
Sega Genesis 6-Button Controller $3 - I sort of bought this praying it was a Saturn controller, no such luck. BUT, I did want it as I've head the 6-button Genesis controllers are very nice. It definitely feels better in my hands.

So yeah I think I did alright this week.

Today I wandered into town (in Mexico) to see if any of the local "dollar" stores still had copies of Supreme Commander available. They had some for months but I never picked one up - then one day they removed all the games, DVDs and CDs from the store that was closest to me. I decided to check one of their other stores which is about fifteen minutes away by bus, across town, and found a few CDs, and some cheapy DVDs.

However, I decided to walk into the pharmacy next door (which is owned by the same company). I found that copy of Hitler's Clone at another one of their stores... and found a few more DVDs.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-11-04.jpg
The pack on the left contains six drug lord / Mexican gangster films and was released by Brentwood Entertainment in the US some six years ago. This thing was hidden away inside a shelf display that had other DVDs and CDs.
The pack on the right contains three random movies, two of which were of interest to me (the other one, not so much.)

Here's the awesome part - both of these sets were on discount. The one with six movies had a price of twenty pesos - about $1.66 USD. The second one? 54 pesos, about $4.50. However this one had different prices because they'd put the package on clearance. So I went to the register to pay and they only charged me 36 pesos for both - THREE DOLLARS.

Too bad that six pack has double sided DVDs. I freakin' HATE them.

Edit:
Well... looks like that six pack might not be a total bust after all. (http://foxhack.tumblr.com/post/35039543999/holy-crap-its-mexican-rambo)

That movie is more than worth it.

Ok.here’s my pick ups..

I won’t go into prices, all I can say is I paid less then I hope to sell the items for on ebay...I have so much to get to with not much time...I buy and sell to make money,It’s my job not a hobby..I am a stay at home dad with three kids,if I can’t make money off of something I don’t buy it nor can I afford to give things away or for what I paid for them...

My best find however was NES SNOW BROTHERS $3.00
This was purchased with other NES games but I sold them to a friend who came over before I could snap a picture.

It’s been crazy with family members losing houses in the storm, other family members taken to shelters,no power,no internet, fluctuating power,no gas...a mess of a town here..I spent a lot of time prepping for the storm after so much flood loss from last years storm..
I have NOTHING to complain about compared to what other people are going though..
Right now I need to catch up to daily life,fast..

First two CDs were $2, next two were $0.50 each, the rest (including the DVD) were $1 each. The DVD and the first two CDs are sealed. Small Soldiers is a promo version.

I picked up both Redneck Rampage games not because of the games (I already own them on GOG) but because of the soundtracks. Yes, the GOG version includes the soundtracks but they're crappy MP3s. These are CD audio. :D

Also bought American McGee's Alice for eBay, and an official PS1 S-Video cable for those PS1 decks I bought the other month.

Four Resident Evil books $2.64
Live Flesh vhs $1
Michael Jackson: Dangerous cd 50 cents

I picked up the Resident Evil books and vhs movie(which was horrible by the way) at a thrift store. I now have the first 6 or 7 RE books. If only I had time to read them. The MJ cd was my loan find at a flea market last week.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC2053.jpg

Stranglehold collectors edition(360) $4
Farcry Instincts: Predator(360) $4
Splinter Cell: Double Agent collector's edition(360) $4
WEW Vol. 1-4 dvd $2
Dead Rising: Off The Record(360) $20
How To Win At Nintendo Games #3 50 cents
Final Fantasy 7(PS1) $3
Rocky IV cd $2
Marvel complete 180 trading card series $2

Believe it or not Farcry and the collectors edition games were found at Goodwill in like new condition. They must have just put them out that morning. I passed on the other sports games they had....because they were sports games. I found FFVII at another Goodwill. I remember when this game was worth some money but now it seems to have all but died as far as resale value goes. The Nintendo book, Rocky cd and Marvel card series were all from a flea market. And I picked up Dead Rising because somebody I know loves zombi games so now I can play with them.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC2063.jpg

Alan Wake strategy guide sealed $2
Dragon Quest IX strategy guide $2
Mass Effect 2 strategy guide sealed $2
Stack of Hentai dvds $6
Game Players Game Tape sealed $5
Halo 4 limited edition(360) $25
Halo 4 poster free from preorder

I was at a flea market over the weakend. At one table a dude was selling games but they were all overpriced. Then he had a stack of strategy guides that he obviously acquired from Best Buy when they were pennied out. But for a dollar each I was glad to take them off his hands. One of the Hentai dvds(strategically covered) was mixed in with a bunch of regular $1 dvds and when I went to buy it he pulled out a bunch of others he had hidden behind his table. I took most of what he had and will probably upload them on Amazon since they seem to do better there than ebay. The Game Players tape was a nice surprise, especially since it covers TMNT and Skate Or Die, two of my favorite Nes games back then.

And then theres my greatest find of all this week: Halo 4. I used $55 in Best Buy certificates(accumilated from buying other games there) and a $20 gift card to purchase the $100 limited edition for a mere $25. And the poster was a preorder bonus. I put some good campaign time into the game yesterday and tonight I plan on busting the online multiplayer wide open. This is my big game for the holiday season and I will easily be playing this online for the next 3+ years.

Been dry lately, but today found:

Narc (xbox) - $1 complete
Blazblue Calamity Trigger - Bonus DVD in case only - $3
An Evening with Kevin Smith 2 - DVD set - $1

All on clearance at Half Price Books.

BONUS! Upon opening the DVD case for the Calamity Trigger Bonus Disc, I found there are 3 discs on the spindle - a "Bonus Disc" and two different "Soundtrack" discs. No markings as to where this is from, but it must be from an Xbox 360 boxed set, as the DVD case is too big for a PS3 boxed set.

Wha? Black label FFVII is like a $50 game!

Looking at the completed auctions on the first two pages only a couple went for $50 with the majority going for $20-$30. Some even went as low as $10. $20-$30 isn't bad, it's just a far cry from the values it use to command a few years ago.

You know when you wake up and just have a feeling about something? Well, I was sitting here in my office and I realized that I "need" to go to the thrift store during lunch today. It's like something is calling me. Very strange but exciting. I will obviously edit this post in a couple of hours after I get out and go have a look.

*** FOLLOW UP ***

So, I'm thinking I misread that signal, kind of. I got a great online score that I will post when it arrives, so maybe that was the great deal because I ended up getting so busy at work that I didn't go to lunch at all and I'm heading home now to get the kids from school. So no thrift store.... sad but true...

It might have just been gas. On a more serious and somewhat related note, while coming home from a job yesterday I had the choice to go directly home or stop by a thrift store that I only get to visit on Mondays. I was hungry and wanted to go home but I stopped there anyway. I ended up finding a bunch of cheap Gamecube games and the last Shades of Grey novel I needed. I will post pics on the weekend when I add everything from my yard sale and flea market finds(if there are any).

Those tapes can be all over the place. I had some I thought I was going to make a ton on, but just did okay because they were slightly different.

I did great at the thrift today!

4 of the games were 2.99, 2 were 4.99, and Cloud Master was 3.99. All are in fantastic CIB shape except Cloud Master is missing the manual. A couple people must have dumped their collections. There were a bunch of nice, good disc games in addition to the ones I got; stuff like Xbox Riddick and DoA3, GC Viewtiful, etc. And then there were 6 or 7 more SMS games that I already have. My only "complaint" is that these are so nice I'll have to compare them to my collection to choose wich ones to keep! The controller was 2.99 and the Lego game was 8.98 and will be lots of fun with my son.

From the local pawn shop, Pioneer CLD-1080 series laserdisc player with 6 month warranty for 30 bucks. Woohoo! I've had terrible luck with my last 2 laserdisc players I found dying on me shortly thereafter but this baby has the six month warranty so I am rather happy to have found it. It was labeled as a cd player.

I was hitting up a local game store that deals in very little retro stuff beyond the new famiclone console things and a very few used games. But I snagged this:

5901

I know it's not the greatest pricing. But I saved between 5 and 10 bucks (after counting eBay shipping) on ActRaiser. But the Kirby's Dream Course is complete, cart is in great shape. Manual is in okay shape. Also very excited because it's a non-sports title found for a bargain, complete, in the wild. :)

Nice Pick Ups..

I had a choice today,go to the big flea market as I hear they had a huge turnout compared to last week,or go to a smaller town flea market..
I decided on the big flea market that was a total waste..

Two guys walking in front of me were looking for the same things I was looking for...

The day of the Xbox 360 decks..and crazy high priced vendors..

Today had to be one of the highest priced days of vendors for anything and anything, used empty candy wrapper $5.00..lol

It seemed like someone gave each vendor a 360 deck or several as they were all over..I’ve never seen so many 360 decks in one day...Prices between $60.00 $100.00..one guy wanted $150.00 untested,

busted seals,no face plates..none had cords,all just consoles......tested..Sure that all work..sure...
I have a stack of 360 decks myself,I can’t give them away..

Prices:
PS2 systems..$40.00 Untested.........untested decks with no drawer plate $30.00
Xbox systems $40-50.00...untested decks
PS1 consoles $30.00..WHAT..

The last item I ran into was a Genesis 3 mini system,with hook ups..no box,no games..I was sure this would be a $10.00 deal..guy wanted $40.00 for it..FIRM..

I came home with nothing...but happy to come back to the van to see my daughter

Had a dream where I was at the flea market last night. A lot of non existant games there. I found a small container full of GBA games. There was one on an orange see-through cart called Pokemon Pearl, and another orange one called Pokemon Rarsrsrk. Then there were two that were shaped like spheres with no way of telling how they would connect to the system.

There was a Barney tape there where Barney goes on a zombie hunting trip. It had an extremely long title and I definately can't remember what it was. Also, whenever I have a dream about the flea market, there is always this one guy there who doesn't exist in real life.

I never got to buy anything. For some reason in my dream I kept going unconcious, which would reset time. I was at the flea market twice and the third time I was wearing a towel, then the fourth time I turned into Mrs. Roper @_@

It was all overpriced anyway. Two of the GBA games and the Barney tape were $50 all together.

I'd pay $50 for Barney: Zombie Hunter. Maybe. :D

Got a little Genesis crazy this week. Not sure what's going on with that, but suddenly I want to play every A-list and cult favorite Genesis title I never got to growing up...

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/6990/slatermill4.jpg

Chakan (GEN) $5 - I don't know ANYTHING about this game. But I thought the box art was kinda cool. Its probably terrible.
QuackShot: Staring Donald Duck (GEN), Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi (GEN), Ecco: The Tides of Time (GEN), Golden Axe (GEN), & Golden Axe 2 (GEN) $22 - Just a big pile of games. Unfortunatley none of the boxed games had manuals. Bad luck there.
Earthworm Jim (GEN), The Lost Vikings (GEN), Super Return of the Jedi (SNES), and The Incredible Hulk (SNES) $15
The Revenge of Shinobi (GEN) $5 - Would you believe I've never played a Shinobi game ever?
Kid Chameleon (GEN) $5 - This one came in a case, but its front cover was blank except for the hand written words 'Kid Chameleon'. But when I pulled the cover out and turned it over, it was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Score!
Beyond Oasis $8 - I was told this was a really good game. We'll see.

Fifty Shades Freed book $1.50
Mario Party 4(GC) $2.93
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes(GC) $2.93
Sailor Moon tv series cd $3
Utada Hikaru: This Is The One cd (empty) $1
Utada Hikaru: Ultra Blue cd $3
Utada Hikaru: Distance cd $3
My Dreams cd $3
Resident Evil book 50 cents

The two Gamecube games and Fifty Shades book were from a thrift store. I now have all three Fifty Shades books so I will read them next month. The last time I picked up The Twin Snakes I didn't know what it was worth and sold it pretty cheap since I'm not a Metal Gear fan but I'm going to hold on to this copy. All the other cds and RE book were from Goodwill today. I was surprised to see so many import cds. There were a few others but I passed on them. And as noted one of them was missing the cd so they sold me the case for a buck. This was at the Goodwill I just recently discovered a few weeks ago. It's so well hidden off of the main roads that I expect to find some really good stuff there over the coming weeks and months.

This is my largest haul in a while:

Garfield: Caught in the Act for $4.99 (Used, Complete) - A bit more than I wanted to pay, but it's hard to find good Genny games in my area.

Dragon Warrior VII for $23.00 (Used, Complete) - It was priced at $39.99, but I traded a game to knock the price down. Now my only problem is finding the time to work through this monster of an RPG!

http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w361/SEGA_Queen/My%20Finds/DW7ampGarfield.jpg

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky for $14.99 (Used, Complete)

Dragon Quest 8 Hero Figure for $2.99 (Used, Missing Stand) - I assume this is some kind of trading figure from Japan.

Ganbare Goemon Uchuu Kaizoku Akogisogu for $10.00 (Used, Complete)

Tales of Destiny 2 for $20.00 (Used, Complete)

Sonic Drift for $10.00 (Used, Complete)

Grandia: Parallel Trippers for $10.00(Used, Complete)

These were all bought from the same guy I got Ni no Kuni from a few months ago.

Dragon Warrior VII huh... I can't really convince myself to sell the disks for an upgrade to complete. Maybe I should just have someone print case inserts.

Another Tales of Destiny 2 owner on this board? Interesting. That game can be found pretty cheap at times.

I'm a big Tales series fan. So I really wanted ToD2, despite the fact that I don't have a modded PS2 or Swap Magic.

Sure, I could have bought the PSP port, but I didn't want to spend that much money if wasn't sure that I would like the new LMBS system. (It sounds a bit complicated to me.) Although now that I do have the game in my hands, I'm getting the urge to try it out.

I've been looking into using the PCSX2 emulator to play the game. But unfortunately, not only is there nothing available for Mac OSX 10.4, it looks like it can't even run the original discs. You have to use ISO's. Oh well, maybe my Dad will let me experiment with his Mac, since it's got a later OS that supposedly will run the emulator.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-11-12-13.jpg
The New Leviathan Oriental Fox Trot Orchestra / Burning Sands - $1
Various Artists / Avenue Q The Musical - $2 (the seller was a douche, he wanted $6 for four CDs but I could only afford two; I asked if he'd take $3, he said discs were $2 each. So I only took this one.)
Mecano / Entre el cielo y el sueño - $1
Atlantis al rescate, Mente fugitiva (Fugitive Mind), Los ocupantes (The Borrowers) - 42 US cents each

I went to a supermarket in my hometown to see what kind of cheapy DVDs they had. They had a bin filled with legit DVDs for less than 10 pesos each, but they were on sale, so each one cost me about five pesos - around 42 cents each. I found a bunch of titles that I wanted but most were pretty beat up. I did find Kazaam with Shaq! But it was dubbed to Spanish. These are shrinkwrapped discs in cardboard sleeves so they're super cheapy. :P

Wandering into the local Goodwill not really expecting anything... walked away with...

http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/2415/goodwill4.jpg

Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN) $9 - Probably will try to resell this as I already have a copy. CIB
Super Mario Kart Double Dash (GCN) $9 - Needed a copy. Never played it before. CIB
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (GCN) $4 - Never heard of this. One of the few GCN RPGs apparently. No manual.
Legendary Wings (NES) $4
Cobra Triangle (NES) $4
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (NES) $4 - Probably over paid on all these NES games, but I didn't have any of them. Good for the collection.
Warcraft - Instruction Manual $2
Master of Orion 2 - Instruction Manual $2 - These manuals were unpriced when I found them, wasn't pleased when they got slapped with $2 price tags. Was LESS then pleased when they literally slapped price tags right on the covers as I was standing there wanting to buy them. Was that really necessary Goodwill? Fortunately they came right off.

Sega Marine Fishing and a Japanese copy of F355 (DC)

F.Y.E. had a $1 bin of DVDs, so I took a look. After shifting through many duplicates of low budget movies I found a cluster of animation shows that had been dumped in there! I ended up with Planetes volumes 1 & 2 special edition, The Big O II vol. 4, Mobile Suite Gundam Seed: The Far Away Dawn, and Stratos 4: Return to Base. Cheap anime, all still sealed and new is good when it's typically expensive at retail stores.

A few days ago I found for $3 each Super Godzilla and The Great Circus Mystery on the SNES, loose carts.

I also picked up the other week for $3 total at a Good Will, Sorcerer's Maze (PS) and World Cup Golf Hyatt Dorado Beach (CD-i).

Also at another thrift store in North Carolina while down there a few Nintendo64 games for $1.25 each:
Super Man, Elmo's Letter Adventure, Pokemon Snap, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and Star Fox 64
