I was thumbing through tihs cool book called "Supercade" it was a nice coffe table book about the history of video games 1974-85.

On the time line they had a small blurb about a Laser-disc console named Halcyon that retailed for 2K?!?

Can some one tell me more Pleez.

The RDI Halcyon was put out by Rick Dryer (who teamed up with Don Bluth to make Drangons Lair) in the mid-80's and was the first attempt to make a LD game system for the home market. Came with a keyboard and headset which allowed you to give voice commands to the unit. I think only a couple games were released for the Halcyon before Dryer went bankrupt (Thayers Quest and NFL Football?). On the Dragons Lair DVD, Dryer enthusiastically talks about it for a few minutes in one of the interviews.

I would love to get my hands on one of these systems, but they are impossibly hard to come by. Saw one on ebay about 3 years ago but it was just the LD player and didn't come with the CPU or other accessories. Anyone here have one?

There was one in the CGE museum one year.

Yeah, I remember seeing it in some pics. First time I've ever seen one complete like that. Who'd it belong to anyway? Buyatari? He always has the good stuff...
