working designs cd artwork

So yes as I know once the top of a cd has scratches or holes in it then that's it....the game is no longer going to work but what about the c ds that working designs made with artwork? For example a copy of popful mail has pieces of the artwork gone on parts of the cd but the parts under them that are silver are not

It all depends on if the layer containing the data is damaged. Usually it will be clear, as in see-through, on the ruined portion, not silver/metallic.

look at the cd from the bottom up, if the damage is visible from the silver side its probably damaged.
I would generally stay away from games like these with damage to the top. Most of the value is in the condition and if the top is damaged its more likely to just stop working or become corroded.
