I've been watching some of the wacky world of Japanese women's wrestling, from the early 90s and Cutie Suzuki came up. It immediately brought back memories of the "Cutie Suzuki's Ringside Angel" ads I saw in EGM in the early 90s.
At least I thought I saw them... The game was only released in Japan, in 1990. Was there a planned domestic release that was cancelled? I went pouring over my old EGMs to find the ads, but I couldn't find any! It couldn't have been in the "new Japanese games" section, because the game was released in 1990 and first and oldest EGM was April 1991. I didn't have any Japanese magazines then.
I know I saw ads or previews or something for Cutie Suzuki's Ringside Angel back in the 16-bit days. None of my EGMs or GamePros or VG&CE's from that era have any, unless I'm missing them.
Searching the internet doesn't bring up any mention of a cancelled domestic release or any ads, only that it was a Japanese Megadrive game.
Do you remember seeing any ads for this game? Or am I going crazy with some kind of false memory syndrome?
The Megadrive box looks like this, and the ads I remember looked really similar.
