I FINALLY found a Daewoo Zemmix (CPC-51B) for my collection. Clearly this is the rarest system I own. I guess a distant 2nd would be my Panasonic M2 (FZ-35) or Sony Net Yaroze.

my rarest would be still the pre-production Sega SATURN console prototype...
it was one of handful hand-built units to show around the trade shows before Saturn's official launching...
don't think you see the prototype console often... :p
I do have couple of dev consoles but they can be had for the money though...

I would imagine my Virtual Boy
PC-Engine Duo
Very expensive because I waited on a really mint system. So mine is like new with every sheet of paper, manual, and any interior stuff. It has had its price, 220$.
Well if you count systems which lost their worth, I bought the Xbox in May 2002 for 299 Euro (388$).

Nothing rare. I'd have to say the Panasonic 3DO FZ1, the Atari Jaguar or top-loading Sega CD. Yeah, my collection of "rare" systems is that sparse. I'd love to have the Amiga CD32 released in the United States but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

My stuff's not too rare. I've got a couple Vectrex consoles, a couple Nuon DVD players (a Samsung N501 and a Toshiba SD-2300), a TurboDuo, a Memorex VIS, and a Pioneer Laseractive with the MegaLD Module. I've also got a couple of Telegames DINA units and a Gizmondo.
Edit: I just recently got a Bally Astrocade, which isn't all that rare, but I've never seen one before in the past, so I'm counting it.

My stuff isn't very rare, but here's what I have:
PC-FX
PCE+CDROM2 briefcase set up
Turbo Duo
Turbo Express (bought it brand new a year ago)
Marriott_Guy
06-06-2007, 03:06 PM
My rarest systems would include (all CIB):
Funtech Super A'Can
Pioneer LaserActive
Pippin @World
Casio PV-1000
Gakken TV Boy
Tomy Pyuuta
Epoch Cassette Vision series
et al.
Being an avid video game console collector, I have most of the systems mentioned and applaud those that have those really rare sysrems (and those trying to aquire them). I would have to say though my rarest system is the Panasonic FZ-35S (3DO 2, sometimes referred to the Panasonic M2) that was not released to the public, only commercially on a very limited basis. There were two models manufactured overall, but this 3DO 2 model was scrapped before it went public to the gaming community.

Cloud121
06-08-2007, 09:53 PM
They were only $50 when first released, however not a lot of people bought them.
They work flawless most of the time (No more blinking), and that's why they're sought after. However, they lack the A/V port of the NES (and yet the Japanese version ditched the RF port for an A/V port).

The only system in my collection that stands out as being rare would be my Japanese SMS.

The only systems that I might be able to consider rare:
Vectrex (picked for $2 from a garage sale)
JVC X'Eye ($10 from a garage sale; complete with box, instructions, included games, and orginal packaging)
I would like to track down a Neo Geo AES someday.
Dont really have anything super rare.
I have my Sega CDX and Panasonic 3DO. Thats about it.

is anything that gets over 100 games realy count as rare? seriously, does it? i've got nothing rare unless a genesis 3 somehow counts.

I'm not sure which is rarer:
Mountain Dew Xbox
Reigon-modded Turbo Duo
JVC X'eye
ApolloBoy
03-02-2008, 11:01 PM
My rarest:
CIB Japanese SMS
JVC X'Eye
Region modded PC Engine Duo
Modded AV Famicom (for those curious, it's been modified to use NES accessories like the Zapper and Power Pad, which don't normally work on an AV Fami)
Famidrive-16
03-03-2008, 08:42 PM
Sega Nomad, probably. The power cord barely even worked, either.
I've also got a black Neo Geo Pocket Color, but the internal battery's missing. Seriously, what the hell is it with me and non-working systems.
Not 'rare' but I have the second model of the SNES.

Well after some years, i finally got THE rarest and the MOST obscure game
system released in the U.S.A.
It is called the "Unisonic Champion 2711". The last of the Unisonic line which
takes cartridges. And it's CPU is a CP1610! Yup! The same CPU found in any
Mattel Intellivision systems (and clones).
More information will be available soon since i'm writing a FAQ (a brand new
one since a few years ago).
So stay tuned Folks! :)

Mine would probably have to be a CIB PC Engine Duo-R, w/RGB mod.
Oldskool
06-23-2010, 05:13 PM
I don't think modded consoles would constitute it being "rare", but a Duo -R is rare in the USA because the only one's here were imported.
I *had* one.
I think my most obscure consoles would have to be:
JVC X'Eye
Genesis CDX
Genesis Nomad
3DO
But really, nothing I have is truly rare. I don't think the X'Eye is as rare as people say it is.

Sega CDX (which I just picked up today for $25 at the thrift store :D) or Vectrex.
I'm choosing my Super Famicom as my rarest system. :P
Enigmus
06-26-2010, 10:39 PM
My early run Atari 2600 Jr. with its box, manual and a few others from the games. Yeah, sorta common, I know. Not all of us luck out and get something worth hundreds. :P
Tupin
06-27-2010, 12:55 AM
I have a few uncommon systems, I guess.
Famicom Disk System
Tapwave Zodiac 2
Nokia N-Gage (Original)
TurboGrafx-16 with Turbobooster
Coleco Gemini
I hope to find a Tiger Telematics Gizmondo, then my trifecta of failed sixth/seventh generation handhelds will be complete. XaviXPorts have eluded me, as have Nuons. Vectrexes always seem to pass just outside my price range, sadly.

I don't have anything really rare, just the "model 2" versions of many consoles.
Top-loading NES
Sega CD, Model 2, with functioning save battery (Doesn't really matter, since it's apparently rechargable.)
Model 2 SNES
blackjays24
07-03-2010, 10:50 PM
For me, it would have to be my Leisure Vision video gaming system, basically the Arcadia 2001... I also have a N64, if that's considered rare. Have a NES, nothing really surprising. I know that there is an Odyssee kicking around somewhere. Great thing about top loaded NES as I'm sure you know, they can play both NTSC and PAL games.
