Consoles only, no handheld or PC.
Off the top of my head I'd have to say...
Qix
Advanced Dungeons and Dragons - Treasures of Tarmin
But I'm sure theres a longer one, and probably a shorter one. Any one letter games out there?

Half Japanese

How about:
Ico (ps2)
XIII (multi)
Hulk (multi)
I know they're not as short as "D" but they're still pretty darn short compared to the average
Long:
SNK vs Capcom: Cardfighters's Clash SNK version
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War

Raccoon Lad

It's not as short as D, but Y's must come in second place.
Kid Fenris

Doesn't every Ys game have a subtitle, like Ys: The Vanished Omens, or Ys V: Ushinawareta Sunano Miyako Kefin?
Xi, the Japanese title for Devil Dice, is as short a name as I can think of aside from D, which was fully titled "D's Diner" or "D no Shokutaku."
Anyway, here's another one for the long-name list: the Saturn RPG Tengai Makyo: The Fourth Revelation The Apocalype IV.

the longest one I can think of aside form those listed is for the Gensis:
"Disney's World of Illusion: Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck"
a side note, this game rocks for multiplayer cooperative.

There was a game called "Z" for the C64 released in 1985, and also a completely different game for the PC was also called "Z" later on.

Yikes, that one takes it so far. 71 letters of long titled madness. Yes, I counted.

Of course, with Japanese titles, shouldn't you be counting the characters in the original Japanese? :-)

The Earth Dies Screaming (alternate title: The Player Dies Yawning) might be the longest 2600 game title.
What would be the longest arcade game title? The longest I can think of is the "sequel" to Asteroids, which of course is called Asteroids Plus Pointy Things and an Annoying Background.
Oops, that's actually Asteroids Deluxe. Forgive. :D
