is this event ACTUALLY going to happen? I mean, I need REAL confirmation besides an out of date website before i trek to ohio. It'd suck if had to drive all the way to ohio just to kick spoon's ass for drinking my chocolate milk, and drive back to wisconsin....

I'm up for it! Its a few days before my birthday, so maybe if I cry/whine/beg I can convince Jaime that she should come and entertain me for my birthday. Then we can convince Scooterb to sneak out of the basement....
Good times will be had.

Well.. it looks like I might bow out of this one.
Wife and I drove down to Georgia for a wedding and got into an accident... so.. as of right now we're stuck in wonderful Warner Robins, GA while the car is getting fixed. We have a lot of house projects (literally, the house is getting remodeled) that are put on hold until we can get back. We're going to have to work through those days off I took to get back on track.. *sigh*.

Apologies to digdug, but I changed the thread's title so I wouldn't have to start a new thread.
So, who's gonna be there? I constantly hear the Ohio folks (and those in neighboring states) complaining about no CinciClassic. Well, IT'S BACK!!!!! WOOT!
Clicky for updated news and info on this year's event! (http://cinciclassic.org/e107/news.php)
So, we're three weeks away and I want to know who's gonna be there? I'll have a table set up and - ask Scooter - I'm a madman when it comes to dealing. My patented Deep Dish DiscountsTM are legendary, as is the goodness to be found in the depths of The Buck BoxTM. (If it's in the box, it's a buck.)
And, I just may have an armload of clocks in case anyone's interested. With the same Sniderman DDD found only at Cinci.
C'mon folks, let's get some hubbub brewing. Show of hands. Let's get the Ohio DPers out there this year! C'mon - DP at CC '06 anyone?

- a few Coleco tabletop arcades for sale

i had a great day at the show, i won the 30 person Dr Mario Tournament and got 3rd place on the tough trivia contest. I also carted home a ton of stuff, most of which i listed in my blog. after 4 years, it was great to see cinciclassic return in the way it did. It exceeded the previous shows, and i hope it will return next year :)

I had a great time at the show. Didn't spend a ton of money but I did come home with 16 games. The best part was getting to meet a bunch of people.
I hitched a ride to the show with Sauza12 who I met through RFG and have hung out with a few times.
At the show I met:

Big Daddy Chester
Downfall
Cue Warrior
Sniderman
Wiz Dawg

We got to the shindig a little late on Saturday (Noonish) and after my first sweep had only spent 10 bucks on a few DC games. Oobgarm then lead us on a 3 car tour of the outer Cinci area gamestores as we (Perkar, Spoon, Spoon's better half, Kamino, Kamino's bud Mike (who i've got no idea if he has a DP handle), JJNova, Eternal Tune, Katchoo and myself) proceeded to raid many many more stores. Spoon came out with a buncha stuff from a buncha places, as did Perkar, and pretty much everyone else got at least something. We got back to the convention about 8 and hung out some with CueWarrior, BigDaddyChester and Downfall as they packed up and headed out. We all made a few last minute late purchases scoring the big bad deals and we left. At one point late on One of the organizers started to ask questions like 'Who has an Xbox', raising my hand I was then given Pro Fishing Challenge, and later got a Halo 2 Hack/Hint book for raising my hand again. It was a fun event and well worth the drive to get to see everyone and hang out for the day.
My wicked awesome scores....
Tony Hawk (DC) $4
Test Drive: Le Mans [Sealed] (DC) $6
Point Blank [Bix Box w/Guncon] (PS) $24
DragonFire (2600) $1
Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends (PS2) $19
Pro Fishing Challenge (XBox) $Free
Halo 2 book $Free
CueWarrior or BigDaddyChester needs to get the DP Group Pic up when they get the chance too as well :D .

What a great show. The organizers did a terrific job, only a couple of glitches here and there but nothing that hampered the event.
I totally enjoyed getting to meet all the people at the show. Cuewarrior, Kamino, Scooterb23, Den68, perkar, jjnova, spoon, katchoo, Eternal Tune, Papastu, Oobgarm. Plus I got to say hi to a few "old friends" Sniderman and 16 bit. I know I have left a bunch more off the list but as soon as I remember everyone, I'll edit it.
I wanna say thanks to the vendors who were set up around us. Michael Thomasson from Good Deal Games, and the two guys from Trade-n-Games. You folks were some of the friendliest people there, and it definitely made the day go by quickly. Another special thank you to ScooterB for making a lunch run for us when we were covered up. 8-)
If you missed the CinciClassic you missed a darn good show. I certainly hope the event happen again next year. Between this and the East Coast Gaming Expo, classic gaming will always have a welcome home on this side of the country.
Now.....onto the tales of drinking and dubachery. I'm not sure who said it but I think I overheard someone under the influence say "I'm too drunk to drive, I'm sure glad Kamino can drive! @_@ LOL

I really enjoyed hanging out with some of the DP folks. Big Daddy and Downfall were the shit helping me out with everything since it was my first time.
Jason from Trade-N-Games (sp?) was really helpful with pricing as was Sniderman. Both of them pulled things out of my cheap Atari box and said, "Don't sell that". :D
One of the guys (Ralph?) got a really cool Metal Slug slot machine with kick ass lcd that I wish I had gotten a pic of.
I'm still flat out exhausted from the trip and my house is in shambles because of all the preparation for the show.
It's too bad I didn't know Storm was going to be there as I really would've liked to have met him.

AGREED.
Were the outlets hanging out of the walls in your room??? Did you get an alarm clock, or did you have to bitch to get one??? and did your freaking phone work????
Ours sucked. at least the telly had a/v input.
I had a blast. Not so much at the show, which felt more like an overpriced flea market...but more so hanging out with everyone. Den68, Sorry I didn't see you there!!!
I did meet katchoo, jjnova, matt-el(well, i saw him before) papastu(again, repeat visit) cuewarrior(Also repeat), bigdaddychester, downfall, atari overlord, eternal tune, oobgarm, and if i met anyone else from DP and forgot i'm sorry - I Drank WAY too much on saturday night.
I also met a fair number of #rgvc folks - Carey85, evilkalla, rubbertoe, riff, and phanstar.
Dave and busters was cool, B-dubs rocked(had a kickarse strawberry daiquri there) and trashing that shitty econo lodge hotel room while piss drunk was AWESOME. I do apologise to anyone i drunk dialed that night. I drunk dialed a LOT of people.
