I can't think of any major stand out items, perhaps my Neo Geo Pocket Color, and about 11 games I have right now...
it actually was a rather quiet year for me collecting wise...much slower than the explosions I had in 2001-2...no really rare games...just filling in some of the commons really...
I feel that nextg year is going to be my year for a Neo-Geo and Vectrex...the last 2 systems I really want to own :D

It's hard to remember back to the beginning of the year but recent highlights include
DW4
Impossible Mission II (Epyx)
15 DreamCast Games for $30
Beating Spelunker for NES
Ninja Gaiden
Journey to Silius
Getting a Arcadia 2001 on Ebay for only 23 dollars shipped.
More stuff on the way (early 2004)
Overall an enjoyable year in general

- Added 50-75 games to my NES collection .. all medium to rare. (to over 600 now)
MMMmmmm.....medium rare.
Seriously though, this may be unimpressive to you guys, but I nearly doubled my NES collection with some games I purchased from leonk this year (I think like, 15 or so) so that was a big deal to me.
???
I must completly nuts, because I don't remember selling NES games this year except on eBay and of course all the genesis games here. O_O
As far as medium rare.. I consider games like Mermaids of Atlantis, Pyramid (both AVE and sachen versions), Mega Man 1 complete, complete secret scout, complete operation secret storm, etc.. all to be "medium" rarity.

Maybe it was last year? Everything tends to run together for me lately. In any case, let's see, you sold me....Lolo 1 + 2, Mighty Bomb Jack, Ducktales, a couple racing games, and some other stuff. That's all I really remember.

My best was an X-Box. I was dying to play Halo and when I saw it as a packed in game I had to pick it up.
I didn't find anything too rare in the wild this year. Maybe FF3 for $2. Everything else was average.

1.Getting my NGPC modded with an Afterburner (big up to Mash @ Sector: NGP!). It made my favorite portable even better...DARKNESS BEGONE FOUL KNAVE! I FEAR YOU NO LONGER!
2.Getting Baseball Stars 2 for my NEO. Striiiiiiiiiiike!
3.Getting my NEO*GEO AES modded. Debug bios rocks. Npw my Jp Baseball Stars 2 has readbale player names..though most of em are weird :P
4.Getting Mark of the Wolves. Call it a SF3 rip, but dammit, I like it better than the game that "inspired" it.
Hmmm....I think that's it.
edit: Holy crap, everything I listed was SNK related. Toss in the sig and avatar and...and....I'm turning into a fanboy!

1. Adding Gitaroo Man to my PS2 collection (Which passes Ys 3 to become my favorite soundtrack of any game, ever.)
2. Finding Tigervision Jawbreaker in the wild (The ONLY Atari 2600 game I found this year!)
3. Getting Opcode's Space Invaders Collection
4. Finding some rarer NES games w/ boxes (Mermaids of Atlantis, Challenge of the Dragon, Solitaire, Qix, Panic Restuarant)
5. Adding about 35 Sega CD games to my collection.
6. Increasing my collection from ~920 to 1170!

For me it was big-box Gyromite complete with tray and everything.
And my greatest accomplishment of the year is a tie between:
A) beating TMNT 1 on NES without losing a single turtle once, and
B) finally beating Ghosts 'N' Goblins on NES (including second/harder quest).

ooh...acquired a lot of great stuff this year...my best being my Sharp Famicom Titler, Super Cassette Vision Lady Edition, and Casio PV-1000. That PV-1000 was a pain in the ass to get, but their super rare so it was well worth it. I'm also proud of getting in the newspaper this year for my collecting...been a good collecting year, not so hot in other aspects though :o

There were three collecting accomplishments that I'm the most proud of over this past year...
3. Star Fox Competition Cart I bought this for $5.00 not knowing what it was, but figuring that I might be able to add it to my SNES in-store demo collection (I have about 8 different titles with the "Not for Resale, Demo Only" headers). I was extremely happy to see that it was a completely different game!
2. Ms. Pac-Man Upright I adore Ms. Pac-Man and it has been a goal of mine to get a Ms. Pac-Man upright, along with a Battle Balls upright and a Space Shuttle pinball machine. I figured that Ms. Pac-Man would be my last of the bunch as I just need any JAMMA cabinet for Battle Balls (I own the impossible-to-get board!) and Space Station pinball is common and cheap. An arcade that I was working for had two Ms. Pac-Man's in horrible condition. For coming in on my off day and repairing one of them to look like new, I was given the other as a gift 8-)
...and last, but most certainly not least...
1. Feet of Fury I've been a hardcore Dreamcast collector for a while now, owning every US release and a bunch of imports as well as almost every hardware addition for this system, and I was extremely happy to become the producer of this awesome dancing game! It is my hope and belief that this will not be the last Dreamcast game ever, and my collection will continue to grow :D

I never noticed that before..
in fact, I sold my boxed nomad with an AV cable on eBay since it lost out to my GBA and GBA SP when it comes to gameplay on vacation.

1. My Vectrex. Easily my best purchase of 2003, and something that I had been hoping to find for years. Not only that, but I actually managed to get a good deal on it, from a woman at a flea market (who we always refer to as "corner lady") who is notorious for overpricing everything. I still can't believe I managed to find a $40 (CDN) Vectrex in a place that commonly prices Genesis sports games at $20-25.
2. My Gamecube. The only one of the new systems that I own, and likely will be so for quite some time. For the first time since I bought my Dreamcast, I can actually walk into normal video game stores and buy games new (which is pretty strange for someone who sticks to Genesis and Atari games). I have to say that I'm very happy with this system too... I've always loved Nintendo's franchise games.
