Every time I pass by yet another crappy sports game, I have to wonder. I know a lot of you have gigantic collections, even every single game there is for a particular system. Has there ever been times when you've gotten a really awful game jus because you didn't have it? What about aforesaid sports games? How to you keep the values of Major League Acronym '95 and Some Random Letters '94 straight?
Come to think of it, are there any poor, long-suffering souls here who've collected a complete set of games for the Genesis? :)

If I recall, Joe has a complete Genny collection which was completed fairly recently (in the last few months). Personally I haven't had much desire to collect an entire library for a specific system, as I tend to play more what I enjoy than collect. I still can't bring myself to buy a sports game, modern or not...blah!

I've gotten more into the collecting spirit for the nes, so I don't pass up a cheap sports game if I don't already have it.

yes, Joe completed his in the past 4-5 months. And i'm sure with sports games, it's more of a matter of the condition than finding it. Most genny sports titles are chewed up......and there aren't that many bad sports games on NES. Sports games hit hard in the 16 bit era and alot of the generic sports games for NES are rather good. There are quite a few baseball ones and then there is a small selection of sleezy ones. Most sports games for NES are worth while though and are slightly harder to find, not all though. Play action football comes to mind LOL

I once bought Hyper Soccer to my NES Konami collection but other than that I have the patience to wait for these titles to appear with "real" games on a bigger lot.
Unless, of course, the game is shrinkwrapped or otherwise in mint condition ;)

I will buy just about anything if its cheap and I dont have it.
I often wonder if I have ever passed up a real find because its a sports game and more than $1, and Ive just assumed its crappy.

Oh Dahne... it's such a disease.
The crummy games to complete sets is just the beginning. For systems that I've completed I've now resorted to box variations, peripherals, even memorabilia.
Example.
I have a complete 3DO collection. I thought the next logical step would be to collect all of the imports next. That is going naturally slow so while picking off titles here and there I find box art variations on Crash 'n Burn. Got them both. Then I find box variations on Mind Teazzer. Got that. Then there are the controllers and the magazines and the t-shirts and...
Complete? It's NEVER complete :)
