Today I spent some hours in cleaning up my collection shelfs. Covered with dust, fingerprints on the glass-doors...

Mr. Proper is your friend!

Looks really nice. I love your nintendo cabinets. I would love to throw some of those in my room for my collection. I just updated my collection pics (see below) you can see them in the Complete collection pictues and xbox ready tv section.

Those Nintendo cabinets are spiffy. I take it they are official Nintendo displays.

Does anyone know of a generic equivalent to those? Shelves with clear glass/plastic doors seem like the most visually pleasing way to store your collection.

Wow. I like it all. Like the other guys, I'm particularly interested in those glass Nintendo cabinets. How did you come across those? Did you get all three at once? Is the Nintendo logo made of paint, or is it a decal?

Thanks for posting pics of your room! It's very clean. What is Mr. Proper?

Yea, I really want to know if those cabinets are hand made or if they are store cabinets. If they are hand made then maybe i will have to become a carpenter this summer. :)

I notice you've got big boxes, Mario Paint-sized for Mystic Quest and Super Metroid... what the hell are those? I've never seen them before, and I now must find them!

European, yep. More European good stuff (Well, besides the red Ridley, but...)

wow
I could get these nintendo-shelves(they are official ones) too but the supermarket-dude wants 100 euros each for them(2,to be exactly).
What a dork, cause I know they'll end up as trash.

The HUGE Snes boxes are also cool looking.
Sometimes even euros get some good stuff...

uh...I see u got 2 boxed Mega Man 1.
2 are 1 too much u know :D ^--^

and how much did u paid for the boxed "Elite"?
I need one bad (I love this game)
I saw one once at austria's ebay but the price was insane.

Nice collection! Once I get my Vs. Cocktail up and running I will have pics of mine up.

I have a few questions: (For anybody that can answer them.)

What is an Astro City Cab(Is it a cab that plays different games, or a converted cab)?, What does it play? How much is it? Where can I find one? How rare are they?

Anyone else want to play twenty questions? That cab just looks awesome.

At first thanks to all of you for the kind words. Love to share my stuff with others ^_^ I spent hours in watching collection pics in the net...

Yes, they are original Nintendo-Displays. They made a good job in the toy-store, where I bought my Nintendo-stuff as a kid. The people at the store had to promise me, that I - and just I - will receive the displays, when they are not needed anymore... they kept their promise ^_^

@maxlords: you got some good taste! I like those games very much, too. I call myself a Windjammers-Champion, hrhrhr

@gideon: I had to acquire those displays in about three years. For the big one in the middle I had to wait about one and a half year -_- Umm, Mr. Proper is for cleaning purposes :)

@tholly: original store cabinets *yes*

@hezeuschrist: they are German/European versions with players guides inside. We got the Nintendo of Europe central in Germany (Grossostheim), so they made some players guides for the games. But IMO they are very bad translated from English to German. The speech doesn´t fit to the age the games happen...

@Zubiac 666: you never can get enough Mega Man 1 in your collection ^_^ I have one UK-Version and one German/Austrian/Switzerland-Version. I only paid 2,50 EUR for Elite absolutely new in a big sell out in a local store... lucky find!

@spoon: The Astro City cab is a cool cab, cuz it plays Hi-Res, Mid-Res and Lo-Res Games like MVS-Games. I got it from arcaderick.de but many customers moan about the internet-shop (bad communication, long delivery times, etc.) You can get them NEW in Japan, like a friend of mine told me... Shipping costs are huge!!!

Nice collection!

Yes it's wise to clean the collection up once in awhile, I don't do it enough probably. How can some of our cheap members keep their rom folders clean? Maybe a defrag once in awhile.

LOL! Too bad you live on another continent or I'd have to have a little competition with ya over Windjammers :D I'm darned good at it too! I just got a cart only one for my MVS cab!

Yeah, if I ever should happen to go to Canada, we´ll test our skills in a Windjammers-match Germany vs. Canada :p

Very nice, Mr. Wily. And welcome to the forums, if you have not already been properly introduced :)

I presume you've seen our collection "game rooms" gallery?
http://www.videogamearchive.com/gameroom

May I have your permission to add these pics to that section?

@digitalpress: sure, I would be honored if you would add them! ^_^

@cmosfm: I visited hundreds of flea markets to acquire them all - hard work and lots of sundays spent with a pocketful of money and a big backpack :)

Man, euro only. Looks like I'll have to settle for getting the regular small boxes, while Earthbound continues to feel all alone in it's massive box.

Very nice stuff you have there. I REALLY must get a neo geo one of these days. I also love those cabinets, pure class. Quite a few items there that I have yet to track down myself :)

You said you like looking at retro collections, pics of mine can be found at

The Games List is WELL out of date now. The newest pics all start 160104.

People in to PS1 collecting might like the wallpaper I made a little while ago..

@buttasuperb: Haha, it´s not like I play Street Hoop very much - sometimes I just hook it up to listen to the HipHop-tunes... LOL

I spent only 14 EUR for the cart - I think it should not be very difficult to track one cart down

@Rich: thx for the pix - you got one cool collection!!! And you got the collectors edition of Zelda-OoT!!! X_x
