I have found a loose Atari Jag w/CD for 8 bucks. Worked great.
A blue debug PS1 for 10 bucks. Worked great as well.
A CIB Sega Master System for 15 bucks. This was like going back in time.

I haven't been collecting long enough, but the best I've had off a non-auction website was a boxed copy of Adventure Island (with manual and cart in pristine condition) for five dollars.

--JVC X'eye for $10 at a rummage sale. Kicking myself for getting rid of this.
--Ehrgeiz, not sealed but with the top label still intact, cart only MMX3, sealed Military Madness Nectaris PS1, some sealed N64 games, and a bunch of other stuff that I'm forgetting, all for around $40-50. Bonus: went back to the same store a week later and they had a fully sealed copy of Ehrgeiz! what the hell are the chances...I guess some closing game store had (foolishly) brought all their stock to this pawn shop.
--about 15 copies of Resident Evil Code Veronica for the Gamecube on clearance for $10 a piece at a ShopKo store.

While all these might not be great deals, they're my most important finds.
1. Donkey Kong Arcade Cocktail. I've brought this up many times and I started a thread last year about it. It got me excited about arcades again, and got me collecting those sorts of games. I found it at a thrift shop for $250 but was able to get it for $150. It's a little unfortunate that more around here aren't into arcades as much as consoles- but it's understandable.
2. TG-16. It took me a whole to find one of these. The wait paid off and I purchased it for $10 at a Goodwill Computer Works. I don't have a lot of games for it, so I don't play it that often, but I'm glad I have it and don't plan on getting rid of it.
3. Chavez II for the SNES boxed ($8). It's the rarest game i own, which is the only reason I'm including it in here. I have doubts to it being an R8, but it'll stay up here until I find something rarer.

i dunno, looking at his past posts he seems legit about it.
3 that come to mind for me:
1. Sonic adventure limited edition, disc only for $5. I bought it in a greatest hits case at Gamecrazy many years ago so I didn't realize it for a while. It's probably my rarest game so it's pretty special to me.
2. Secret of Mana complete in box for around $10 at another Gamecrazy too. it came with all the extra flier crap and everything, I was impressed.
3. over 60 random loose atari games in a box. nothing too special, a couple R6's I think, but it was a once in a lifetime massive catch

Ohhh mama, ohhhh mama *Ace Ventura 2 masturbation scene* :-P
I have yet to have any GREAT finds, as I'm pretty new to collecting, but finding old favorites I've completely forgotten about is always fun, here's 3 I can think of:
1. Sunset Riders (I talk about this game all the damned time, but it's because I've just recently rediscovered it, having completely lost it a decade and a half ago...)
2. Rocket Knight Adventures
3. Chrono Trigger - Not one I'd ever forgotten, but I got a pretty mint-looking cart, still in the box, that I was pretty excited to find.
EDIT: Today a guy at work showed up in my office with a shoebox overflowing with NES/SNES carts, some of the more prestigious titles including: Final Fantasy III, Diddy's Kong Quest, Battletoads, Double Dragon 1-3, among about 15 others - $50!

and Just recently I found Custer's Revenge (Atari 2600), still have it. Cost 4$

Gotta update this:
1. Found a CIB NES toploader for $.99 at a local Electronics Boutique (remember those?) back in Austin circa '97.
2. A few years ago, a co-worker gave me his boxed and minty Virtual Boy, Mario's Tennis (loose of course), Mario Clash, Nester's Funky Bowling, Panic Bomber, and Wario Land (all CIB and minty as well) for free.
3. At a local Goodwill, found a Turbo Express (minty shape but with one dead pixel and typical sound problem) for $5 along with Bonk's Adventure & Bonk's Revenge ($3.99 a pop).

For me, I think my best three finds were:
CDX Thrift store lot: Found a CDX with two controllers and about 17 CD games, almost all loose for $25 about two weeks ago. The games were all junk save for Sonic CD which I already had and Dungeon Explorer, and the CDX's laser is messed up and I have to get it fixed, but still a very good deal. And now I don't have to deal with 3 power supplies from my Model 1 Genesis/Sega CD/32x combo, and it allowed me to sell of my Sega CD for $60, which in the end worked out for me.
SNES lot from a friend: A friend of mine 3-4 years back was getting out of video games and sold me his non-yellowed (and is still that color today:)) Super Nintendo with two controllers and about 15 games, mostly good stuff for $15. Came with the Super Mario World + All-Stars cart, the 3 Super Star Wars games, the 3 Donkey Kong Countries, Tiny Toons Wacky Sports, and some other games.
Chrono Trigger MIB $10 Flea Market: Found a Chrono Trigger at a flea market for $10 mint in box but opened with all the papers and whatnot inside for $10 at a flea market. I'm not an RPG guy though, so I ended up selling it for about $65 through a forum. Not the best price, but I still sextupled my money so I'm happy.
And not really a find, but still notable:
Sega Nomad Free: The brother of the friend who sold me my Super Nintendo above gave me a Sega Nomad for free after citing that it ate up too many batteries. Still works today, although the tubes need to be replaced as it takes about a minute or two for them to heat up and the screen to come on. And there's a nick or two from me dropping it once. ^^; But hey, if you're not going to use something, what's the point in owning it right?
2 and 4 aren't really finds, but aside from the CDX and Chrono Trigger, I haven't really had any WHOAMG finds in the wild.
EDIT: Heh, I clicked on the back page and saw my post from about a year ago in this same topic, forgot that I had found a Donkey Kong Game and Watch for $1 at a thrift store. Front is all scratched up though, but the back and inside are nice and minty. But, it's a Game and Watch, so eh.

1. 2 Sealed copies of Pokemon Stadium 2 for the N64. Found for $8 each at the same thrift store they were at.
2. Intelligent Qube for the PS1. A pretty rare game. Bought it for $2 at a used game section at a video store. Pretty good condition.
3. Super Mario RPG for SNES. Difficult to get, but it took me a couple games to trade for it. And it was excellent mint condition, for a cart only game.

Back in high school, a kid in my US Studies class always talked to me (too much, also annoyed me) about classic games and he insisted that I "borrow" his Super Metroid for the SNES. He also had a second copy of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars that he gave to me. He ended up failing the class and got pulled out and I never saw him since. I feel kind of bad sometimes.
I also found The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES for $0.99 at a used book store (in pretty good condition, too).

I suppose if "finds" doesn't mean I actually bought it...
After mentioning it to my friend, he is not going to let me forget it. I had heard rumors what it was worth, but I didn't believe it at the time, so I passed up a Stadium Events cart for $8.99 at GameStop in like 2002. Unsurprisingly didn't see any on ebay, and I was like "whoa! Who would pay $1000 for a title variant of a dirt common game?"
Arc the Lad Collection as part of GameCrazy's 3/$10 deal. Seems it's still a deal, even if it's missing one of the Arc III discs. I also got Game & Watch Gallery and Diddy Kong Racing (which I gave away as a gift).
Future rarity? I got a complete Game & Watch Collection (DS) from GameStop for $17.99. That allowed me to spend my points on G&WC2 instead. :)

While I was attending Tech School, a student posted a sale of his C-64 disk collection of over 200 disks for $25. I jumped on the deal, and ended up with over 500 games, mostly hacks, but at least 20 or so were on published disks.

Got a Model 2 Genesis with a broken but fixable RF cable (and who wans to use the RF-Signals anyways), some broken but fixable Infrared-controllers for the Genesis, two dirty but functional 3-button-controllers (just needed some cleaning), AND a working Model 1 Genesis (one with HIGH DEFINITION GRAPHICS) printed on, all for 11 Euros. (1 Euro on ebay plus 10 for shipping; the model 1 wasn't even mentioned in the description). The seller thought it was all a bunch of trash and sold it as nonfuntional, and I was the sole bidder...
Also, on two different occasions, I found a yellowed but fully functional SNES (2 controllers, plus Super Mario World and Star Fox) and a Japanese Model 1 Genesis on different attics and could keep them for nil.

#1: Last year, in 2010, at a local Shell gas station. I was only there to buy a soda, but then in the CD shelf, filled with a bunch of brand new music albums, something caught my eye... I found a sealed copy of Zelda's Adventure for the CD-i! Roughly $15! :D
#2: Also last year, I managed to get a PlayStation with two controllers for roughly $10 at a GameStop not too far away. I don't know about other countries, but here in Norway that's dirt cheap. And I love the PS1. :)
#3: While visiting a girl in the opposite part of the country, we stopped by a garage sale, where I managed to pick up Command & Conquer: Modern Warfare(contains C&C and C&C: RA), which I'd never before seen, in addition to a couple of other games at a rather nice price. :)

Well Ive got a few, my collection isnt huge at the moment so I dont have the coolest finds, but looking through my room heres what I think are great finds: Super Mario bros. 25th anniversary (I bought it almost 4 months after it came out sealed!), brand new sealed copy of Chrono Trigger with poster included for the Nintendo DS, and Gunpey on the PSP for $2 (I know its not that great but its one of the best I could find!.

Now defiantly my number one is for sure my greatest find, but the others..... I'm not so sure about.
1. Tetris Tengen - Nes: I bought this at a retail store for $10 because they thought it was just normal Tetris.
2. Some old handheld systems that were still in the box - I forgot what the names of the systems were but what I do remember is that one is a racing game and the other one is a Donkey Kong like game. I also got this from the same place I bought the Tetris game. I believe I got it for $10 all together.
3. "kind of" broken Super Famicom - I got this at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo in 2010 for $5. The broken part in it was the actual color scheme thing. For some reason it was black and white instead of color. Also it had no hookups, but for $5 I think thats a good deal.
Thanks for reading, have a great day!:)

5200 Zaxxon - $2
SNES Chrono Trigger - $.50
5200 system with 2 Wico sticks and track ball - $10
Never had a great find in the wild. Anytime I've been to a goodwill they've only had a few games that were worthless crap and cost way more than they should. I've never even seen an old console there or at any of the thrift shops. I've always paid full price on ebay or on dp.

Most Memorable?
-For Arcades,
#1)Skee Ball Lightning - Craigslist free score! Worked except for it had no ticket dispenser and just read CODE ZERO after you scored a certain amount of points----Currently deteriorating in my backyard with the elecronics tucked away in my basement. It will live again.
#2)NEO-GEO 1 slot - Craigslist $80 or $90. Red & grey DYNAMO upright cabinet with Puzzle Bobble----Long gone but I definately made money on that one.
#3)Arkanoid Cocktable - Another Craigslist free score. Basket case ATARI "cocktail" cab w/Bootleg 22 pin board----Currently re-wiring, without all that atari S#@T inside that is. If all goes well I have a NEO-GEO AES in trade for it.
-For Consoles,
#1)Amiga CD32 - $20 at a flea market(Kennedy hall) from a guy who's catch phrase is "I Sell You Cheap". Came with one game controller, a TV remote and the tel/modem. Had Van City Bank decals on it as it was used for early online? banking----I only ever burnt the Last Ninja 3 for it and as there aren't many NTSC games for it I decided to let it go.
#2)Philips CDI - Free. I was actually standing in line at a thrift store(talize), turns out the guy behind me was an old family friend, he saw I was buying some NES games or whatever, Long story short... He gave it to me. Came with one controller and a few games. Kether was one. Also an encyclopedia from what I remember----Sold that day to a good friend. $100 probably just spent on filler games but hey.
#3)Hitachi Saturn - $25 at the SPCA thrift in Richmond -the only thrift store I've ever seen a suit of armour at. Boxed & complete with 2 controllers -one Hitachi brand and 2 ram carts -one being a SEGA brand----sold to some kid who likes to play japanese games.
Hounorable Mentions?
-Too many to list

I mentioned this in a different thread, but I found 30 or so complete NES games at a local pawn shop for $2.00 each. Among them was Mega Man 5. Also at the same pawn shop I got Demons Crest on SNES complete for $4.00. I got a SEGA Outrun Arcade from a trift store for $100, the only thing wrong with it is the previous owner lost the keys to the coin door, but luckily it was already unlocked. Also at a flea market I got a sealed ASCII pad controller for SNES for $5.00, it's the one with the turbo/slow switches.
