I was just reading 2 interviews on IGN, and they are saying now they don't think a next gen console is the answer....they are talking about using the ds along with the gamecube and attempt to start a new revolution in gaming...and they wont be showing a new console off at next years E3.... hmm guess we will have to wait and see on this one....::shakes fist at nintendo:: that DS better be good.

I know. I cant wait to see a pic of this DS. Dual screens could be really good and really bad.

From what I heard elsewhere on IGN the interviews were "misinterpreted" and there was also a statement from Nintendo saying they ARE making a new console for the next generation. Until there is a press release from Nintendo stating they aren't making a console, take what you read with a grain of salt.

Wasn't the GC plus the GBA supposed to start a new revolution in gaming?

Must not have been televised. I seem to have missed it.

Does it really matter if companies bring out a new system? What advances are there going to be? Are graphics going to be better? I doubt that. Most games do not suffer from slowdown anymore. Are games going to be more fun? I doubt that as well. The video game industry is going to have to work hard to convince me that a new system is justified.

I for one am looking forward to a time when all games are optimized to take advantage of full HDTV-resolution.

No slow-down 4-player split-screen in 720p :-P
