Ed Oscuro's picture is not from Nintendo Power; it's from the Captain N comic book. There were only about four issues, but during those few they had this little love triangle going on btw. Kevin (Capt N), the Princess, and Samus. They also showed a two-page spread of Samus' ship, which "revealed" that the one section that we all see in the games is only the detachable front-end of a larger beast.

Samus DID start with dark hair -- as seen in Metroid (and one assumes Metroid II) and Super Metroid. Then with Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission it got changed to blonde. Not sure why, but that's the 'accepted' form now. And she looks good in those last two games ending scenes, also. ;)

And there's nothing wrong with the DOA girls that Laura Croft does'nt allready have. :P If I ever get a XBox, I'm getting the volleyball game. 8-)

There are five issues of the Captain N comic, along with a few stand-alone stories that ran in other publications. You can read all of them here (http://cnn.captainn.net/com_issueguide.html). The comic is amusingly hokey, mostly because it's a shade more serious than the cartoon ever was. And yes, Samus, who never appeared in the TV show, was constantly trying to seduce Captain N away from Princess-What's-Her-Name.

(BTW, I just discovered this -- I had forgotten to link Zero Mission to Fusion and just unlocked the gallery in Zero Mission -- it's all the ending scenes for Fusion, from the American AND Japanese versions, plus some extra stuff. Even though Fusion came out first in the States, they added more stuff and new endings to the Japanese release. I guess we can expect the same when Zero Mission comes out in Japan. Figures. :o )
