I hope nobody minds I'm going to recomend two games

1. Fatal Frame II (PS2/Xbox)
I loved this game from start to finish and that's coming from a guy that has a hard time getting into the whole survival horror genre. I thought the story was creapy and was one of the first games I played that really scared me. I played it with my girlfriend and it was just like watching a scary movie. Great fun you should all give it a try.

2. Beyond Good & Evil (Gamecube/PS2/Xbox)
This was one of the great games that I've played on the current gen systems. It was supposed to be part one in a trilogy of games but sadley despite the praise from game reviewers the game undersold and is unlikely to see any sequals. There is no question in my mind that as the years go by people will continue to find this little gem that they passed over. If you haven't played it yet you really owe it to yourself to give it a try.

Neverwinter Nights (PC/Mac): Great D&D-licensed CRPG, plus the Aurora toolset for module-making and the DM Manager for DMing multiplayer games. How to take an excellent CRPG series (Baldur's Gate) and tweak it even more.

And yes, if you're on the Mac, you can access the Aurora toolset, albeit not directly out-of-the-box. Thanks to the Open Knights opensource community, it's available for Mac users.

Dino City (SNES) - An underrated and overlooked SNES platformer. You play as one of two dinosaurs helping two kids get back to their time. The kid rides on the dinosaur's back as you go through the levels, and since the kids have a higher jumping range than the dinosaurs, in certain places the kid can jump off the dinosaur's back to reach places the dinosaurs couldn't reach. If you're a fan of 16-bit platformers, it's worth checking out.

Discworld (PSone et al)

Great point and click, and hilarious. Sod the gameplay, the jokes are well worth it! And the voice acting is great!
