Ok I was skeptical for the first 5 or 10 minutes i was playin but after getting a hang of the game and the mechanics behind it, i couldnt get enuff, it got shitty reviews but i love it and is now one of my fav xbox games. I can sit here for hours jammin with my custom made soundtracks (linkin park : meteora works great) and kickin ass. What did all of you think of it?

Another thing it was announced on IGN today that UBISOFT made it official : no sequal >.<

I love it. Deathrow is easily one of the best Xbox games. It's so simple, yet so complex. Throwing, catching, tackling and making goals are easy, which makes the game fun to play over and over again. Also, I love the amount of gratuitous swearing and senseless violence in that game.

My favorite custom soundtrack to use while I play is my N.E.R.D. mix.:D

To tell you the truth, for once, I'm glad there won't be a sequel. They won't get a chance to screw it up.

I loved the game and bought it at full price when it first came out. You may, however, want to snoop around online before you automatically declare it got shitty reviews, high 8's and 9's from IGN and Gamespot are far from shitty. I do find it funny that EGM gave it a 4.5, letting that fat code guy do the review (the only one he's done for them to my knowledge).

Also, here's a little bit of self-promotion: I wrote a guide for this over at IGN's Guides section, you'll find me credited as "brassmonkeyjunkie," but one of the many online handles I use/have used. I also submitted the same guide to Gamefaqs, but it was never accepted (not sure if they never got it or what) but some other guy wrote one that's up there now (around a year after mine was out) and it's very similar to mine...that's all I'll say. If you look at my guide and agree that it's shitty, check out the No One Can Stop Mr. Domino guide, among others to see what a glorified instruction manual of an FAQ looks like...I do feel I went above and beyond that. The biggest shame is, to this date I've only ever gotten two emails about it: one guy thanking me for the "awesome guide" and another asking a question. At least I had fun doing it.

Somehow I knew DrJustin would present himself on this topic, and I'm glad he did. DrJustin is a kindred Xbox spirit!

Honestly, when people bash the Xbox, I think this is one of the titles that they should take a look at. If I'm not mistaken, you can even play up to 32 people on Deathrow with system link, which is more than the vaunted Halo can support.

Here's the link to my FAQ: http://faqs.ign.com//articles/379/379811p1.html

Also, it's funny how things come full circle: EnemyZero, the creator of this topic, traded me his Xbox lot (which included a copy of this game) for a nice Saturn lot back around August I believe, after I had sold my original Xbox and copy of the game. It was nice to have it back! Also included were a lot of Sega games and other sleeper hits, great taste EZ!
