There should be away to get into a menu to do this if you have a test swtch in the cab..
Or it may be a dip switch on the PCB of the game itself..

What game is in this machine..?

Free play is activated with the game board dipswitches, but im not sure about older games having `free Play`.
My Hot Race cocktail table has a `credit button`inside for the service engineer to use

What game is in the cabinet? Fitter? I guess your best bet would be to see if there are dip switches on the board (I believe most games used a menu system later than 81). If not, you coul just wire the coin wire on the taito harness to a button.. let us know :)

The game is Stratovox. And as far as "PCB", ect...... O_O I'm completely dumb about arcade parts, and that probably doesnt help LOL

Try tihis page:

http://www.crazykong.com/dips/Stratovox.txt

The PCB is just the game board(s) itself. The dip switches would be somewhere on there :) you would probably recognize them when you saw them. Just have to locate them first :)

On a cursory look at that page, I didn't see anything about free play, but you should look closer. If it doesn;t have free play, you will need to take the wire that goes to the coin mech (that detects a quarter being dropped in) and wire it to a button (along with a ground wire). Then just push that baby when you want to put in money..

I hope that helps,

chris

I don't think Stratovox has a freeplay setting. Here is a link to the dip switch settings.

I did not see an option for freeplay.

If you would like some tokens I could ship you a whole bunch at a good price. Shoot me a PM if you wanna go that route. Thats what I did with my Ms.Pacman.
