ok, so i bid a crap load on flukes M82 on ebay but lost it...i figured id drop the money on a new in box system, but lost. anyway, i get emails from ebay members asking if i want to buy theirs...most are for not boxed systems, but i get an email from someone who doesnt speak english well, stating he wants to sell his PAL m82 for $600 shipped. new in box, with instructions, pictures to come 'on the next monday'..

im not really keen on sending off $600 to some guy in europe and hoping he will ship off my stuff without grandaddy ebay overseeing the whole deal. should i try for an escrow deal? should i even buy this thing? just looking for input...is a PAL m82 worth anything?

thanks!

This is why eBay invented private auctions.

Have him setup a private auction and give you the auction number. This way you're protected by both eBay and paypal!

eBay insures all auctions over 200$ with Loyds of London! 8-)

didnt know they offered private auctions...

id be willing to pay the fees for the security of the deal.

THANKS!

Don't even bother. :0 Boxed PAL M82s seem to be much more common for some reason.

I wouldn't spend more than $200 for a PAL one.

PAL M82's aren't common at all it's just that one guy found a load (about 10 I think) all unopened and stuck them all on ebay. Apart from them i've only seen four on ebay in five years of looking.

The question you really should be asking yourself is do you want to pay $600 for a system that you can only play PAL games on? and not even all PAL games, A or B depending on where in europe it's coming from.

That's not quite true - PAL NES games are designated either 'A' [UK, Australia, Italy] or 'B' [everywhere else], but they will all play on any PAL console.

No, PAL-A Games don't play on PAL-B consoles and vice versa. Could be that my carts were dirty though, it's hard to tell the difference between dirty and foreign Games ;)

I'm with anagrama here, PAL "A" or "B" will work on any PAL NES.

Hey,

If this guy is in europe, and he's using another ebay say ebay.de or ebay.co.uk i don't think you'll be able to bid on a private auction, i have gone to look at private auctions on ebay.com, and i get told that since i'm not in the US or Canada, i can't bid..

Also hold on to your cash! $600 is way to much!..

(Off topic  )

I have managed to shake off (after 3 years) my ebaying!! (well i have bid on one or 2 items) but i used to buy up to 90 to 100 items a month.. now since i'v stayed away!! i have a ton of money in the bank, so for now my snes collecting has really slowed down, but i think it will be more fun.. collecting slowly instead of going crazy!

AND I FEEL BETTER FOR IT!!!, I'D RATHER GO WORK OUT NOW THAN WASTE CASH ON DIRTY OLD EBAY..

PS. Ebay is the best i love it.... :embarrassed:

(back on topic :P )

save your cash and wait for one to show up again on ebay.com

I have two PAL-B M82's and neither play A region games. If you've got a NES that plays both chances are it's been modified.
