Does anyone kn ow if any of the classic games are the Famicom Disk System versions? I'm asking because I really liked the FDS version of Ice Climber over the NES one.Well, I know my SMB from JP is the Cart version because of the Minus world. But I don't know what other games are ported from. I'd like to see a good list, and know what the differences are as well. What was the difference in Ice Climber?

There was no baby seal clubbing in the NES version of Ice Climber.

I'd say import the JP version if you really want to club seals... That sounded so wrong. x_x

I know the US version won't have seal clubbing and I'm pissed off about it. After playing the JP version, the US Ice Climber is no fun anymore. I want to club baby seals!!!

Actually, it's because I like the level select screen on the FDS version better.

OH, it's so beautiful. After reading other responses about how the sound and picture size is a little off, I am a little scared when I start playing them.

I finally was able to pick mine SP up today along with 4 games. I think I am going to pick up the other 4 tomorrow at CC for $15 apiece. My babbages that I reserve my games at sold out Zelda in under 15 minutes. But anyways, I LOVE the set and am going to definately be getting everything that Nintendo puts out for the set.

The US only got the same version of Mario Bros. as the Japanese. This page shows the differences: http://qbob.free.fr/releases/marioc/index.html

The FDS version of Ice Climbers does not have the baby seals either and allows the player to select from only the first 24 mountains, but he does not have to select in any order. All cartridge versions allow the player to select from 32 mountains, but he must play them in order.

Nintendo probably believes it should release the US versions of their games, in case some complains "its not the way I remembered it."

Nintendo did not remove the two-player mode from the NES Classics of Super Mario Bros for the GBA.

Got my shirt today! At first I thought the CC sale was just for Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, and SMB but they guy helping me said that they were all $15. Since that was the case, I got SMB, Zelda, and Excitebike instead. ;) I'll be going back tomorrow when I get more money to pick the rest of them up. (I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that Nintendo is giving away a cool freebie like that game binder if you register all 8 games)

The shirts were at Circuit City only (supposedly; and only 10 shirts per store, again supposedly) I got all 8 games for $15 each and 4 shirts for free and then had Best Buy price match the system at the cheaper CC price

What is Best Buy's PM policy? Do I need the ad in hand? I have a TON of gift cards there so this is a good chance for me to use them up.

I still have in mind the unplayable Midway Greatest Hits cartIt's completely playable on the Arcade Treasures disc for Xbox.

I KNOW THAT MIDWAY ARCADE TREASURES HAS A PLAYABLE VERSION OF MARBLE MADNESS (and it was not just released for the Xbox, but also the GCN and the PS2, FYI).

Had you read my post with more attention, you'd notice that I'm talking about the GBA here. Considering the mess that Arcade Greatest Hits was on the GBA (not to mention the horrid Mortal Kombat Advance), I wouldn't trust Midway if they'd release any more classic games on the GBA.

I own the GBC SMB1 port.. is the GBA SMB1 port the same or better? I don't want to spend 20$ just to get a smaller cart!
